    Got to admit, the price you paid for that bar makes it kinda perfect no matter what. :)
    I'm kind of intrigued with this one, but since I don't see me doing much oly lifting, I'll probably look at something else for a second bar.

      Brandon Campbell Diamond truth. Although it's more about girth than length in my book. 28.5 mm seems like it would please most people though.

    Hey Brandon,
    Not sure if you still have the bar, but if you can remember...
    Are the sleeves grooved?
    Did you clean and/or snatch with this bar?
    You had the ipf rogue bar...how big a difference do the thick collars on this TAA bar make compared to the rogue?
    Thanks a million. Buddy still taking orders so I may pull the trigger...Tired of waiting on everyone else to restock.

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  4 роки тому +1

      They're still several weeks behind. I know people who have been waiting for their TPB for almost 2 months. Sleeves are slightly grooved, collars on any Texas bar are going to be pretty thick, especially if comparing to a thin powerlifting spec one!

    I'm in the market for a bar... had been leaning towards a Rogue but now thinking maybe Texas. Really haven't given Texas much thought because never really hear much about them. Thanks for the timely review.

      I think it depends on what you are looking for. If you're looking for something to do the big 3 as well as a whole bunch of other things (and don't want super aggressive knurling) this would be something to consider. Rogue makes great bars as well though.

    My Texas power bar came in black oxide.. It didn't wear well either. So I took it apart then took a wire wheel to it... Night and day difference. It's great as a bare steel bar! Looks sexy as a bare steel bar too. I just have to wipe it down with some oil from time to time now. The bar is a work horse... I've abused it and it's still straight as an arrow. Very deep knurl... makes a man out of you.

    Nice review, bud. Looks like a nice bar. I love that iconic TB look with the recessed caps and the thick collar. I'd love to see some other finishes on the shaft, but that seems unlikely.

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  6 років тому +1

      I have used the Rogue but don't own it. From my experience (and feedback I've heard from others), the Rogue version is a tad more stiff. However it's also built a bit better IMO and comes with a better warranty if needed. I think the TDL is a better bar to get more out of, but it's also about $100+ more expensive.

    Hi Brandon ;) How do you compare the black zinc of OPB (looks like painting..) with that of Texas bars ? Texas Bars looks much more natural, thiner, more like black oxide treatment than a form of coating (altought its not advertised as black oxide)... Do you think the finish of texas bars feel more like bare still than the zinc of OPB ?? Also, does the texas bars finishing lasts longer than OPB zinc ? Thank you once more ! Cheers from Brasil!

      I've only had the luxury of a decently knurled bar once or twice in my life. That goes for home equipment and the shit that most commercial gyms provide. On the rare occasions when I've used good bars with aggressive knurling, the difference was noticed and appreciated. At present, I'm patiently waiting for my Texas Power Bar to arrive and it is expected to be a bar that I will have for the rest of my life. If I do add bars in years to come they will likely be Rogue or Kabuki. Regardless, even a substandard gym bar is better than the cheap Cap 3 piece bar I've been using since the day before the world went on lockdown. In any case, my initial comment was simply pointing out that you implied that the All American Bar's knurling was something of a sweetspot for the general strength trainer who isn't focused on one specific aspects of the iron game, be it powerlifting, olympic lifting or even bodybuilding.
