  • Not gonna lie this wide body kit has taken a lot of effort to fit onto our gtr, but it’s nothing we can’t handle. We still have some work to do on it before sending it off for paint but it’s nearly there. I hope this video helps educate others on what it’s like installing a kit like this and as always if you have any questions feel free to reach out!

    We apologize for the delay in content! Been working on a startup company and in the process of moving homes, but we'll get working on the gtr again really soon. In the meantime we're getting the warehouse organized so it'll be easier for us to work on the cars. The widebody should be done by the next video, can't wait to share that with you all!

      Thanks! I've got a lot to learn from him, I wouldn't have felt comfortable cutting into a GTR on my own. When I get my degree next month I'll come back home and we'll finish the other projects we have sitting in the shop.

      Appreciate it bro, that's exactly what we're going for! Hopefully others that are installing this kit or similar ones can learn from our experience so that their job is easier.

    Someone finally makes fender liners!! Sick!

    • @ryanmaas_
      @ryanmaas_ 3 роки тому

      Haha thanks man! We think it came out a lot cleaner this way and it does prevent the small rear piece from getting caught in the wind and blowing off (which I heard is a problem with this kit). We could've added them for the front fenders as well but honestly we just want to start driving it again!

    That’s awesome I would love to do that but I’m pretty sure the labor and the material cost is outrageous. Great attention to detail.

      Thanks, it definitely needed a lot of work to fit perfectly. The downside of going with a replica kit is the poor fitment, but if you have the time to modify it yourself you can save a ton of money over the authentic kit. And tbh it's not that difficult to do yourself, just time consuming. Which is why we posted this video to help guide people going down the DIY route. If you're paying someone else to do it they're probably going to put in less effort than you are (since it's not their own vehicle) so I would get the authentic kit in that case.

    Hey nice video, high instructive, how do you make the tires be aligned with the wide fenders, wheel spacers? Or must be an specific tire or wheels, thanks

    • @MaasMotorsports
      @MaasMotorsports  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you! We're currently using machined wheel spacers with the stock wheels but long term I'd recommend getting entirely new wheels and tires that fit the new body lines. Most wheel manufactures know the dimensions of specific bodykits so if you just tell them "I need wheels to fit my liberty walk gtr" they'll most likely know exactly what you need.

      Yeah we have a lot more planned for it, this year has just been very chaotic for us. This build (and all the others) have just been sitting in our shop the past few months. We're going to finish the widebody, repaint the car, add the upgraded transmission and brakes, and do a few other small things to this build. It looks like things are going to start to calm down for us in 2021 and we'll have time to get back out in the shop and make some more content. Just been a rough year, but we'll get back to it!

    Question how much value do you lose on the car for cutting the quarter panel off like that 🤔

    • @MaasMotorsports
      @MaasMotorsports  3 роки тому

      It's still classified as a clean title vehicle so on paper it remains the same. If you do crappy work then you could very well lose value when attempting to sell it. But if you take the time to get it done right you won't lose any value on the resale and people will appreciate the craftsmanship behind the build. I've seen cheap widebody kits installed poorly and they're an eyesore which is definitely going to deter buyers from offering a higher price. Spending the extra time to make it as perfect as you can is well worth it in the long run.

      @@MaasMotorsports very true you guys are doing the right steps to make sure there isn't any errors with the build especially cutting metal and making sure the gaps are correct on both sides and addressing issues before the final fitment. I have seen really bad wide body's that kind flop while on the road 😂 you guys are taking the time to do it correctly where other people are just cut happy and don't do it right and people Don't want to buy it unless it's for cheap because of the work they did on iy
