    Great video to teach us. The hardest part for me to be able to paint fur with good consistency was learning the density of paint and water on the brush. It's very easy to make mistakes when we don't have enough practice. The brush is left with little water and dry, causing shaky hairs, or with a lot of water and little paint, creating drops or broad strokes without pigment. It took work to find the middle ground and now I can know what density of hair I will make just by looking at the brush. That is great.

    I clicked the thumbnail but I wasn't sure if it was a figure or a painting. Awesome result.

    Awesome effect Andy, real cool looking fur. Such a lovely model. Really like the subtle colour shift across the fur with the pinkish tones and the coolnblue on the shadow side.

    Your new miniatures line is incredible. The hunter and Wolf is the best in my oppinion, so if i purchased one, that would be it. I hope to do so when i get and airbrush some day. Cool technique also!

    Had no idea such a developed and defined sense of fur could be just plain painted on, much less that it could be smoothly and completely integrated with the painting of sculpted texture. Inspirational, now I need to find some high end werewolf sculpts...

    Great video. Did you guys just thin the paint with water? I’ve been using water and find that paint isn’t flowing off very well. I thought you could have been using flow improver?

    How would you do black fur, or mixed colours of fur (eg. Mexican red wolf)?

  • @dekai7992
    @dekai7992 4 роки тому +1

    Breathtaking! BTW, if you love colours like Citadel's Stormvermin Fur, check out Formula P3's browns, reds and greys. Their explicit greens not so much, but I've yet to come by more interesting, vibrant and complex greyish-greenish-brownish hues from any other company.

    Could you do this on Skaven? To make them have fur on their faces like in some of the artwork rather than making them naked rats?

    • @cultofpaint

      Certainly, although you'd need a fairly large scale model to really take advantage of it.

    Hi. I am going trough your recipe and trying it out on a white wolf. The ratio of Sandalwood and Graphite confuses me though. In the video you say Sandalwood with a bit of Graphite, or just pure Graphite. Now wouldnt it be Graphite with a bit of Sandalwood instead? The Sandalwood with a bit of Graphite does not look like the grey you have in the video, so I suspect there is a something wrong in that mix. *
    Otherwise, amazing video, thank you :)
