Winston may deliver flavor 20x a pack, but don't let this distract you from the fact that 4/5 doctors prefer Camels.
honestly, I don't smoke anything besides American Spirits. Other cigarette companies these days put addictive chemical additives in their tobacco and have been doing it for decades. Freakin' BS.
@@reducedfaticecreamisjustde1447 have fun lol
@@premiummemes7320 Yeah well, I've smoked both marlboros and american spirits, and I've never gotten the craving for american spirits like I've gotten for marlboros. In fact, I've never really developed a craving for spirits at all tbh.
@@reducedfaticecreamisjustde1447 Yeah I will then stop smoking lol it’s super bad for you you already know all this which is the funniest part 🤣😂😂
@@premiummemes7320 That also explains why nicotine gum and patches hardly work 90% of the time. They aren't helping you kick your additive addiction. haha
In 1966 I used to walk to the corner store with a note from my mom to buy her a pack of Winston greens. I was 4 years old. I'd get some penny candy out of the deal.
Same here. Note from Dad for a pack of Salem. Crazy but every kid did it for their folks.
I used to do that for candy and sodas, grandma would send
me to the liquor store with a note and I'd get my treats and
carry home two six packs of Hamms beer and a carton of Bel-Aires.
I was eight when they let me cross the busy street to the cheaper store.
@@cymbolichuman433 Haven't thought of Bel-Airs in a million years. Wonder if they still make those. Nope they discontinued them about 15 years ago.
I used to buy cigarettes for my mom too. Viceroy Light. The store owner knew my mom and my family, so I didn't need a note.
@@sergei_mikhailovich so like who's parents didn't die of lung cancer? My dad died at 57 from emphysema and my mother died at 66 from lung cancer. Did y'all give it up or are you continuing the cycle?
"Pokemon is brought to you buy Marlboro!
Ash and Pikachu love Marlboro Cigarettes!
Gotta smoke em' all!"
Pikachu seems more like a Menthol smoker, because of that cooling zap, although they are trying to ban menthols now.
@@thedivinityman yah, damn democrats dues, i smoke menthols :(
@@Jdockery007 yup they just love over reaching
@@Jdockery007 Thats democrats for you
@@thedivinityman Nah, Pikachu is a vaper. He charges his own e-cigarette.
I hear ya, Fred. After a long day in the quarry on my dinosaur I'd kick back with a Winston too.
🤣
Love how the store sells the packs pre-opened with a few sticking out for easy grabbing.
They are selling what they call loosies!
Most of the voice actors on the show died of smoking related causes, mainly of lung cancer.
@@chainsoar Well we know smoking isn't going to improve anyone's health. However in 2020 there is a fraction of people who smoke compared to the 1960's, and lung cancer today is the third most common cancer in the United States. Mathematically shouldn't lung cancer be less common today?
If that is so, that was before it was common knowledge the health hazards of cigarettes.
Analog IDC I’ll think we will start seeing it decline in the next 15 years or so. I started smoking in 2003 when I was 14 smokes were just reaching five bucks a pack. Today at least in crook county Illinois smokes range from 12-18 dollars a pack which for kids is a crazy price. And I’m sure it’s another state or county law you have to be 21 to purchase. I know that had I been born after 2000 starting to smoke would never have appealed to me both with the price and age range. I think the problem for the gen zs will be vaping as no one really knows yet whether it’s dangerous or not. Just my opinion
@@analogidc1394 There's other causes for lung cancer besides just smoking.
My grandpa smoked his whole life and just turned 90...he quit smoking a couple years ago...but still, no lung cancer...lucky? 🤷♂️
"i hate to see them working so hard"
"lets go around back so we can't see them"
🤣
If my memory is still intact, I remember in the actual show, Fred and Wilma would light up a "WinStone" cigarette.
I refuse, you are gaslighting me and i will never search it up
@iago110 You don’t have to search it. Just watch the 3 minute video.
Wilma: Fred, I'm pregnant.
Fred: YABBA DABBA DOO, YOU'RE SMOKIN' FOR 2!
Nahh, that’s wrong😂😂
In the 70s when i about 6 or 7 years old i used yo go to the corner store and get my mom cigarettes. No note or nothing . No problem . Back then people used to smoke everywhere . I recall my mother being pregnant . In the doctors office . There were ashtrays . Pregnant women smoking away including my mom . Wow times sure have changed .
It was the Stone Age. Folks didn't know any better back then.
(Fred)They sure work hard don't they Barney !...(Barney)Ya, I hate to see them work so hard.(Fred) Ya me too...'eh, let's go around back where we can't see 'em ! LOL
The Flintstones was sponsored by a tobacco company that sells cigarettes more for adults. The Flintstones was originally meant to be a cartoon for adults during prime time, but The Flintstones becomes very popular with the kids. A couple of years, they made chewable children's vitamin pills based on The Flintstones.
@Abe Garfield They are. They're a product of Bayer AG. I never took those vitamin pills or any children's vitamin pills when I was a kid. I didn't start taking vitamin pills until my high school years. I take multivitamin pills without any gelatin in them because I'm a vegetarian.
It's pretty inaccurate to call the Flintstones a cartoon; it was more like an animated sitcom
And that's how Flintstone's pebbles cereal was born.
@billmcdonnell79 I’m pretty sure they still do sell Flintstone’s vitamins!
*We are Flintstone’s kids. Ten million strong… and growing.*
And decades later, Yogi Bear would star in an anti-smoking public service announcement.
Barney, my Winstons!
So after every episode ended they been smoking…. I love this show even more now that I’ve gotten older
Hey, Fred NEVER PAID 2:37 for those cigarettes!!!
I've noticed that part. Fred is a shoplifter!!
That's actually not uncommon for the era this show was made. It was common for small mom and pop businesses to just add it to your tab and at the end of the month or week you'd pay your past due bill back for groceries, ciggies, and whatever else you got. Credit was a whole different game back in the day.
Must of been on the house. Who knows?
Meh it was the 60s nobody really cared
I guess the store owner was to into winstons that he didn't realize that fred took the cigarettes
The flashing Winston sign at the ending credits! 😆😆😆
I remember very well the original final credits, seen here, of the suburban neighborhood at night with the blinking Winston sign on the left. Being 7 or 8 years old at the time (early 1960s), I wondered how there could be what looked like an electric sign in prehistoric times.
Same way Fred could watch TV in prehistoric times!
@hebneh You were thinking! 🤔
Winston?? Maybe Barney, but Fred seems more like Marlboro man
Fred’s a Newport man
Barney is more of a Virginia Slims kinda guy.
WinSTONE, nah they're made for each other lol
Marlboro's tagline was "As mild as May" for years before they rebranded to Marlboro Man
Fred is more of a Camel 🐫 man and Barney is a Newport kind of guy.
Hey Fred, let's go out back for a Winston cegarette. Great idea, Barney!
Barney: "Heya Fred, you need a light for that smoke with the smooth, rich flavor?"
Fred: "Do I ever, old pal!"
(They light their cigarettes with a lighter that has a little bird pop out with a match.)
Fred: "Mmm-mm! Yabba-dabba-doo!"
(cuts to the present, with Fred Flintstone in a hospital)
Fred: (speaking through an electrolarynx) "Yabba dabba doo."
Fred and Barney were entitled to take a Winston break.
As a child I was breathing in second hand smoke daily and was hospitalized with acute bronchitis, and nearly died. I was sent to Boston Children's hospital and was revived. My Dad quit smoking and supplemented with snuff to ease with the horrible symptoms. He suffered from asthma and miraculously lived to 88 years. He died of pulmonary pneumonia 😢
This was their Sponsor for the first two seasons. However, once Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm arrived into the scene when Season 3 started, they dropped Winston and Welch's Juice was their new preference.
In season four the 'stones were brought to you by Jardiance, it's the little pill with a big story to tell.
I’m impressed this is 1080p
I'm baffled at the algorithms ability to read my mind. I used to smoke Winston's, but they're no longer sold in my area. I have also been getting a lot of Flintstones shorts on youtube, and now I find this video. This is the twilight zone, I swear.
Reminds me of that Redwood Cigarettes commercial from GTA 5! xD
Who even managed to record this back then? it's such a relic.
Fred just loves touring his lungs
Back when you can get cigarettes and alcohol without an ID
You still can? In our country.
Winston, Camel, Davidoff and Dunhill the best cigarettes!
Kids in the 60s would most likely never get the joke here
you would never ever EVER get away with something like this today. that show would be cancelled faster than you could say Retro cartoons. plus the cartoon studio would be sued into the 9th circle of hell
So true
Of course they would it's as if the government almost cares!
And why do you say this?
Finally, someone has the courage to speak the TRUTH. Sometimes I think about the fact that tobacco companies aren't allowed to advertise on children's cartoons anymore and I get so vexed that I have to go smoke an entire pack of Lucky Strikes just to calm down.
In the early '70's the Flintstones did PSA's for the American Cancer Society.
They knew most of their audience was kids, new future customers.
Not even. The Flintstones was created primarily for adults (yet the entire family could watch it) and had a prime-time slot on television
Later in the series, the sponsor changed to Welch's.
Starting with season 3
And Cocoa Pebbles
He didn't pay Rocky for his cigarettes.
He most likely had a tab a lot of Grocerie stores had those in the old days
Rocky was so enthusiastically caught up into pitching those Winston's that he didn't notice Fred walking out without paying for them.
The kids would not believe this now.
The Lucky Strike Program, starring Jack Benny!
i think people forget that adults used to watch cartoons with their kids
The Flintstones was originally an adult cartoon, although not nearly as crude as most cartoons in that category today.
I heard that The Flintstones was originally an adults cartoon
It's the audience the show was aiming for.
Between the gate of 10 and 12 (1980-1982), I brought cigarettes for my parents with no issues. Only rarely refused. And when I was, I went to another store to buy them.
is open and close it 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
You killed my grandpa, Fred!!!
Took me a really long time but finally gave them a chance at age 32. I gotta say. What they say about old products compared to new is very true. Older products are stronger. I think I should get the White label box instead (lightest)
"You love them Winston cigarettes don't you, Mr. Flintstone?" Should have ask him, "Love that lung cancer don't you, Mr. Flintstone?"
My mum used to go pick up packs of cigarettes for my grandfather from the corner shop, winston blues and a note stating that she was there for her dad ciggys
I remember watching these. Lol. I still smoke Winston to.
Do they offer that flavor 20 times a pack as said?
Mac Miller sampled this on a leaked song called "Dollar Signs." Absolute banger of a song and a genius sample.
My childhood is ruined...
I kinda want to start smoking Winston's now.
2:41- Hey, he didn;t pay for them!
Remember people
Smoking 🚬 is bad 🚫🚫🚫
Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble smoking cigarettes.
I hope they don't start smoking those left handed cigarettes.
Rocky sounds like some sleazy car dealer.
He sure does. He is enabling Fred's cigarette habit.
Fred and Barney eventually ended up with lung cancer.
Who's here from Robot Chicken's "Cartoon Smokers" sketch?
I sure am! "Mmm Barney, you're an @$$hole."
"Aw, cheer up, Fred!"
They used to be smokers before they had their own cereals
" but the
reality is
that
you
could
end up
like
me
👨🏿🦽
yup remember it was them..lucky strike and reynolds wrap foil...found on of those old rolls moms house
better quality back then..things like light gauge sheet metal
Brad 2021 you’re not wrong lol
Winston Tastes BAD Like Your Cigarettes Should. It’s Costly.
Yes, it is costly. It will cost you your life !
I hope this commercial was at least made before everyone knew cigarettes are bad, including the cigarette company.
They weren’t as bad then. They had less additives and higher nicotine making them less addicted. And the Marlboro came along with the shittiest cigarettes on the market and other companies had to make there’s more addicting to keep up with Marlboros sails.
The Flinstones was originally an adult cartoon, although not nearly as crude as most cartoons in that category today.
Today-
Craig of the Creek is brought to you by Prime
LUV this!!!!!
lol i remember this as a kid cartoons hocking ciggerettes
If only life was like that still
I think Fred prefered the left hand cigarettes because he wanted to get stoned.
GRANN DAD!!!
Used to buy my dad cigarettes every day from the time I was 10 , no laws said you couldn't, times really have changed
If that was put on TV now days how many millions of people would be screaming
The Loudward Show (1974)
Newport Cigarettes
So if Fred and Wilma smoked cigarettes then they smoked cave weed!
If only tots could smoke at that time... Lol! 😂😂😂😂
Lighting up a Winston
I hope Fred doesn't start lighting up those Jolly Joints.
20x the flavor, and 20x risk for lung cancer!
It’s like watching Spongebob endorse Budweiser
Except Spongebob was always meant for kids while the Flintstones began as an adults' show.
The Flintstones did indeed endorse Budweiser's sister product, Busch beer.
Not even. SpongeBob was created to be a kids show, The Flintstones was created primarily for adults (yet the entire family could watch it) and had a prime-time slot on television
The Flintstones was created as an adult show
I'm not a smoker but if I were I would smoke Winston. Do they still make them?
But seriously, I believe people have the right to smoke if they chose to.
They do still make them and they come in a few varietes depending on where you are.
Yes.
Yes, they sell it to this day.
I mean, the flintsones is like the Simpsons, not a kids show, but somewhat of a family show
cartoons originally (like the Flintstones) were never meant for kids.... but adults.
I started smoking when I was 5 because I watched the Flintstones.😁👍
I was smoking mom's Winston 100s at age five in 1967 all the way to 1974. I smoked mom's Salems before that from 1964 to 1967.
Also Winston menthol 100s in the early 1970s.
I started buying for myself at age 12 in 1974 and it was Salem 100s, still to this day, along with Marlboro menthol 100s.
If these were on The Flintstones, shouldn't they be called "Winstones"?
Anyone else here after hearing it sampled in Jerry is Strong?
So This is why I used to see so many kids smoking out front when I worked at a McDonalds. Damn you Fred Flinstone, lol ;)
edit: my goodness, these adds are so wrong, hahaha.
Icaras01 Did you also know the AMA (American Medical Association) also said they were "healthy" and good for you? That's even worse then good 'old Freddy boy saying you should take a puff or two. The history of tobacco is deeper then most people know.
8thManDVD.com UA-cam Channel Though Fred didn't get anyone to smoke it was just a product of our society at the time. The TV Adds were just a reflection of popular culture. Of course Tobacco is being replaced with Marijuana (which is better for you?) and Alcohol (also very healthy and never kills anyone).
This is why Neanderthals went extinct!
Yep.
Then that whole ice age thing was just a myth?
Nah we just evolved
Only cigarettes i like are candy cigarettes
Me too.
I want a cigarette now
What about beer and liquor on tv give me a break people
Winston delivers flavor 20x pack of death
7 grand drug
Cool
Dolla signz
ima show yall how to do this right 🔥
Never seen this cartoon.in black in white.
Sylvia Salas yea most were in color as far as I know. Maybe was just for the TV Adds.
The first two seasons of "THE FLINTSTONES" (1960-'62) were originally telecast in black and white, as ABC didn't telecast any color shows until September 1962 [and then, about two or three in prime-time, including "THE FLINTSTONES"]. The commercials were filmed in black and white........
The Loudward Show Has been brought to you by Newport
Jake Steel is smoking! - Billy.
Somehow, the Flintstones selling cereal these days feels weird to me after seeing this.
Hopefully smoking cigarettes will subdue Barneys’ Fruity Pebble addiction
I would like to believe that their far Jurassic (Future Jurassic) bodies can stand cigarettes and not get cancer
How the hell did u get ur hands on these dang
Man I hate seeing em work so hard, let's go around back so we can't see em😂😂😂
Thank goodness nothing about smoking or nicotine is directed towards young people nowadays
RogerMurdock Juul allow me to introduce myself
This wasn’t at kids. The flint stones was originally for adults. Like the simpsons.
Nor was this.
This was directed towards adults, not young people
Offering cigarettes to kids on a silver platter
How? The Flintstones was created primarily for adults (yet the entire family could watch it) and had a prime-time slot on television (which is a timeslot targeted mostly towards adults and sometimes families)
