Guys he is not riding this awesome bike well, go test ride one if ur interested, your end up buying it, the quick shifter is an up shifter only, fully adjustable suspension, at 8k+ revs it goes into warp mode
Hey Tom, that first bit of twisties just pulling out of the Glass House mountain view is called the "Hot Mix", ridden in many times (it's quite popular for Brissy riders heading up towards Mt Mee). Was wicked watching you ride through it all!
Mad review Tom! I have a 2015 675R and this bike looks and sounds even more polished. Seems to have just as much power too. Can't wait to see tuned even further enhanced/tuned versions of these engines in 2019 in Moto 2.
Seems like nobody is a big fan of the Triumph Triples. I love the 675R puts a smile on my face all the time and destroys 959's like a knife through butter.
They're really starting to grow on me. And the Street Triple S is 10k new. Not bad. I hear a lot about the Triumph bikes being unreliable, but I've never owned one.
What? I don't think there are too many negative things to say about the street triple 675 or 765. I have a 675 and it's the best bike I have ever owed by far! I would love to have the 765 but will have to wait a few years so I can actually afford a used one.
I found the suspension a bit hard too, at least there are lots of adjustment options. From the gearing comment, I guess a rider might swap the sprocket. I find sport mode in 2nd or 3rd quite responsive without changing often. The Style option in Rider mode is the display style - there are some nice screen layout options, big speedo or big RPM. Watching those "children" at the end wasn't so bad, what disturbed me more was all those 50 year old journos were leaning over the yellow lines into oncoming traffic on public roads. On quiet back roads you might get away with using track/race lines, but there was a fair bit of traffic on that bend around the 13 minute mark.
One question I have is about the throttle response. I've only test ridden a 2016 Street Triple R so that's what I'm going off. I noticed it had a pretty twitchy throttle. It felt like when I closed it, even being gentle, there was a bit of a jolt. And same went for opening throttle but not as noticeable. Ultimately I chose a BMW S1000R among other reasons because it's throttle response was smooth as butter.
what a sick road you have to ride. Oh and the bike tooooooo!!!!!!! I have been ridining an sv650 around and plan on making the jump to a Triple r or rs when it warms up. Chicago :(
Hey mate, I ride an fz8, would you consider this bike a decent upgrade power wise? The fazer is just enough for me, otherwise jap litre bike may be my next purchase. Thanks for the review. Mark
Watched an American video and they came to the conclusion is a brilliant track bike that really gets going above 8K. The RS should be called a Track Tripple not a Street Tripple.
How do you wheelie this bike? I've just purchased the RS and am trying the foot brake followed by throttle in 2nd. It just doesn't want do it. I'm not sure if it's the throttle lagging (therefore timing not right for when I come off the rear brake) or if it's the traction control. I've only really tried it in road and sports mode though. I tried the drop the clutch technique which scares the shit out of me and it just feels like it goes into warp speed with no wheel lift. Any tips?
Holy shit! Riding with Tom rode the "hotmix"!! I only found out on FB the other day that AMCN did the track launch at Lakeside. Spewing because Boris M was there doing his thing so how good would that have been to see him fanging it around Lakeside.
Took one for a test ride today. Anyone know if there's any way to remove the delay on the fly by wire throttle? Removing traction control made a huge difference but it still fucking sucks. Makes blipping and rev matching on downshifts a whole lot less fun too. Definitely no anti wheelie when traction controls off, gave it some in second gear and front wheel came up instantly. I definitely didn't find the suspension too stiff on the RS, felt awesome on the tight bumpy hills roads I took it on.
I just picked up a 765rs and was wondering what do i have to do to be able to wheelie? Not sure if i need to turn off the traction control or what else to do. When i try to wheelie it bogs out and wont go up. Thanks
Does it still have that chirpy whistle sound at idle that the old bike had? The street triple has always been one of the best sounding bikes on the road
Can't bash the suspension when you didn't bother to set it up for yourself. I'm 160 lbs and mine feels nice and plush when I want it to, in fact I had to add 3 turns of preload to the rear because rider sag put it so deep into it's travel that it was feeling harsh. Fork adjustment tool is under seat ;)
I found the street triple RS unstable at high speeds (check my review where it tries to step out on me) also found seat crushes your nuts against the tank. Any plans to review the MT10?
Do they have cruise control? And man. That turn off at 13:00. 👌 The Beema GS experience went down there last year. And that's where the Australian TT was going to go before it got canned. 😕
Hey Tom! I know you'll probably never answer this question, but I try it! Since I want to buy a KTM exc, I wanted to ask you what would you recommend KTM 300 exc or KTM 450 exc? Also note that I would like to put her a motard kit! I asked you this question because you tried all of two...
Lmfao. Literally ten minutes from my house is a highway that climbs to 9k feet in elevation (which if you didn’t know, requires more ‘bends’ than this) That’s not even the highest in my state and it’s higher than all of Australia. 😂
Tom please do another learner bike video as you said you like ninja 300 and cbr500r but just do anther one cause i am sure there are plenty of people looking for learner bikes
Most reviews are saying they're surprised at how soft the suspension is. Maybe they tweaked yours before you rode it.
7 років тому
Rear is soft and front hard. Just like the previous Street Triple R. I don't know why they setup their bikes like that. At least you have good adjustment range to fiddle with.
Anyone who buys a bike should setup suspension for themselves so some what not worth a complaint, the rest I have found no issues, it's good in everything, it's not focused to one thing but it's really good for day today and being stupid. The only thing I would like is for the quick shifter to work going down as well
Your statement about the RS having an overly stiff, track oriented suspension seems consistent with a bunch of other reviews of the RS. Many of those same reviews have said the R is the one to get for normal street riding and the occasional track day.
Wow! Are you serious that R model is the one to buy?!?! Couldn't the suspension be adjusted? Damn. I'm seriously a week or so out from buying one. Now I don't know which to get.
I hate it how they make traction control control the anti wheelie on most new bikes .. super duke and Tuono are the only nakeds you can turn them off independently
Read, he's not talking about TC. He wants Anti Wheelie off, but Traction Control on . Most bikes group these 2 features, except the Super Duke and Tuono.
I cant see how it would be possible, put the front wheel up and its revs will slow down compared to the back wheel's revs so "traction control" detects that and cut down the power. Thats the exact same thing happening when you put too much gas and start a wheel burn. How could the bike make the difference ?
Traction control works on the rear wheel, not the front wheel. The front wheel speed is anti-wheelie. A simple option to disable that would suffice. I mean Tuono and the Super duke do it . It's really not complex. Just rear wheel rotation speed in relation to the speed driven.
Triumph sure does love their 5's 6's and 7's lol
Guys he is not riding this awesome bike well, go test ride one if ur interested, your end up buying it, the quick shifter is an up shifter only, fully adjustable suspension, at 8k+ revs it goes into warp mode
I own a 2019 765R and I can attest to it having hyper drive after 8k
Nothing smoother about his riding. Smooth is fast.
Love how the dash changes contrast depending on ambient light conditions. It's all in the minor details.
Your videos have been truly missed and we'll worth waiting for

Lovely sound they make these things called motorcycles.
I'm loving the extra angles of you riding
The footage they took from the side of the road made this look really good - it gave the whole video a very professional look!
yeah it helps having an actual professional film crew filming us for Triumph...
RidingWithTom Your knee was way about the ground...
That sunset bridge shot is awesome, they earned their pay.
Tom, as always lovin your stuff - solid non bias review 👌🏼

I love my 955 triple
Zalonka I think they are awesome
Awesome review Tom and great riding also , really enjoyed it.
Loved the very casual "ahhhhh look at this tree" at the start of the video
Awesome final shot!! Was waiting for you to pop it up haha
So cool seeing you on a stretch of road I regularly ride! Though somehow you don't have the cops camping up there like when I go... haha
One of my favourite sections of road. Awesome !!

Dude's crazy swerving onto the lines in curves n corners
Looks like a absolutely awesome bike!!
Superb shot at the end! Couldn't go out without a wheelie
im getting the R version in spring. can't wait
Top stuff Tom, next time you're in the Brisbane area you should post a heads up.. I'd certainly enjoy going RidingWithTom :P
Been waiting for this!!!
great review man, collected mine last week..a weapon.
what a sick road you have to ride. Oh and the bike tooooooo!!!!!!! I have been ridining an sv650 around and plan on making the jump to a Triple r or rs when it warms up. Chicago :(
i love my 16 RX. couldnt imagine what they improve.
Good for track without clipons?I'm not that much into motorcycles but I know that sportsbikes have clipon handlebars.plz reply
It seems so strange watching tom ride through my weekend play ground here is Brisbane :D
Awesome Video... :) What would u recommend 765 or the Z900 for someone who wants a bike that does it all... :P
Man your lines are super clean on twists ..! :)

Nice unbiased review.
It looks like your lines have improved!
Sooo which Streets come with the bar end mirrors and which ones don’t? I just picked up a 2019 R and has the regular mirrors.
Ahhh yes the hotmix up Mt Mee! My favourite road!
I just picked up a 765rs and was wondering what do i have to do to be able to wheelie? Not sure if i need to turn off the traction control or what else to do. When i try to wheelie it bogs out and wont go up. Thanks
The throttle response changes with the modes right? Are you saying it was too delayed even on the most aggressive setting?
Your a good rider , do you ever do track days and what is your weapon of choice ?
Completely agree on the 675. Ppl don't believe me but I felt it was down on power too.
Does it still have that chirpy whistle sound at idle that the old bike had?
The street triple has always been one of the best sounding bikes on the road
What did you think of Mt Mee? Some pretty nice twisties there.
Can't bash the suspension when you didn't bother to set it up for yourself. What Alpinestars jacket do you wear? I LOVE it :3
How good's Mount Mee.
Did I see a yellow Porsche creeping up?
This ain't Yammie Noob ;).
I found the street triple RS unstable at high speeds (check my review where it tries to step out on me) also found seat crushes your nuts against the tank. Any plans to review the MT10?
The only thing I did to mine is adjust the suspension because I’m a lighter guy too. Huge difference after.
Tom how was the R vs RS. ???
Also, were they power wheelies or did you use the clutch?
That sound!
They must have the suspension set at the track settings, it's actually slightly soft in the standard setting and I'm not a big guy myself.
So the question is, if you didn't ride on the track would you still get the RS? I'm very close to buying one.
Madness! I loved it!
Sport or track mode will reduce the throttle delay.
How did the R model compare to the RS? Great to see a RWT vid with some spirited twisty riding.
+Savage Starlight my next video will show more of me riding the R on the track, I liked the R model more
WHEN TOM WAS IN BEERWAH AND I DIDNT SEE HIM :(
I was looking at the Street Triple and the mt 09 for my new bike. I loved the mt's engine, but everything else was kinda meh imo. So i got the triple
Your skill is so good @_@
Go go Tom!!!!
Do they have cruise control?
And man. That turn off at 13:00. 👌 The Beema GS experience went down there last year. And that's where the Australian TT was going to go before it got canned. 😕
so you push de clutch to make a wheelie?
You gonna go towards Charters towers way nice creeks u can see around there and alot in cairns
Amazing bike no doubt about it... I'd be happy with just the 765 R 👌
Hey Tom! I know you'll probably never answer this question, but I try it! Since I want to buy a KTM exc, I wanted to ask you what would you recommend KTM 300 exc or KTM 450 exc? Also note that I would like to put her a motard kit! I asked you this question because you tried all of two...
+Yzf 881 for dirt riding is rather a 300 exc but if you are supermotoing at all I would go the 450
What ever happened to the trip you were taking in the jeep?
Is that glass house tourist dr ?
That sound!! Shweeeeet.
If your watching this in America those things he's driving around are called bends 😊
Lmfao. Literally ten minutes from my house is a highway that climbs to 9k feet in elevation (which if you didn’t know, requires more ‘bends’ than this) That’s not even the highest in my state and it’s higher than all of Australia. 😂
And that language he's speaking is called, 'English!' :-D :-D :-D
@@Oregon-Ducks It's a joke mate, relax
Here in PA we don’t have straights, evens, or smooth
Lmao you act like every state is like florida and kansas
Wheelie legend!!
Is the s version so excting?
Tom please do another learner bike video as you said you like ninja 300 and cbr500r but just do anther one cause i am sure there are plenty of people looking for learner bikes
that induction noise!
Kerelm --> Ducati Testastretta induction howl is better... ✔
How did the R compare with the RS? I was torn between the two but ohlins and quick shifter won me over. I didn't get the chance to test an R though.
+dazza291970 I would get the R and put a quick shifter on it, the Rs is really pretty track focused
ahh but little goodies like a cowl and bar ends and belly fairing all coming with the rs standard sold me
Most reviews are saying they're surprised at how soft the suspension is. Maybe they tweaked yours before you rode it.
Rear is soft and front hard. Just like the previous Street Triple R. I don't know why they setup their bikes like that.

Mt mee is awesome road to ride, my neck of the woods
+CSHATFIREBALL seems to be pretty popular, everyone is recognising it!
Your statement about the RS having an overly stiff, track oriented suspension seems consistent with a bunch of other reviews of the RS. Many of those same reviews have said the R is the one to get for normal street riding and the occasional track day.
+fprintf yeah in my next video I ride the R model at the track and I like the R model better
Factory suspension settings for RS are a bit screwed up. Rear rebound is way too slow and compression too soft.
Wow! Are you serious that R model is the one to buy?!?! Couldn't the suspension be adjusted? Damn. I'm seriously a week or so out from buying one. Now I don't know which to get.
Voi vitsi!! Mitä minun pitäisi tehdä?!?!?!
Tim Endicott Just get the RS if you want to. The suspension can be softened by a few clicks and twists.
“Mad wheelies”
That's what I thought about the throttle lag.
Where is that road. I'm further up north sunshine coast way. So not familiar with the area. Would like to find this road.
Just before Woodford from the Motorway, turn left at D'Aguilar pub It about 15 Minutes from Caboolture.
G'day, Tom. Please tell me where that first road is and it's name... was it around Mt Mellum or Mt Mee?
Turn Left at the D'Aguilar pub. Its Mt Mee.
I recognise it now... he was going back and forth.. it confused me. ;-) 🏍
What camera is this?
What location is this??
Was this with riding mode ‘Are you insane’...😂
So you did not like the 675 Daytona and the Street Triple R?
In your 675 daytona video it seemed like you loved it.
+Zalonka I never said I don't like the Daytona, I didn't like the 675 street triple
Gotcha!
2018 street triple RS is LIT AS FUCK
thats a nice tree
Tom.. Any chance of a wheelie tutorial please ?
+StreetTriple Mat I did one a couple videos back!
You forgot to actually mention if the r was better worse or much the same than the rs
11.200 euros in Portugal. 16.417 AUD. it's about the same.
Nice looking bike still prefer my mt10 tho😀
Straight roads then sports bike , fast bendy roads then nothing catches a street triple , if your a good rider that is .
The geometry on a sports bike will allow you to carry more speed into and around corners - the Daytona would be faster on the roads in this video.
A Daytona 765 probably, problem is that there is no such thing (yet). A Daytona 675 wouldn't be faster...
Well if it has that much delay then , it's a good beginner bike then.
Mad
I hate it how they make traction control control the anti wheelie on most new bikes .. super duke and Tuono are the only nakeds you can turn them off independently
Stupid right? And the 2 bikes being the ktm and aprilia, that needs them the most, you can turn it off lol.
Richie Pistashios you can totally turn off the tc on the rs. Simply in track mode and its off.
Tropical Queensland, the Glasshouse Mountains . . . . . right.
