- Here I will talk about my experience with the Oneida Phoenix and throw out any tips that come to mind. This is an unrehearsed blab session so bare with me as I mention some things about this awesome 100% American made beast of a bow.
your the only person I've seen do these reviews in full, I greatly appreciate it. These bows are EXPENSIVE, but nice. Its nice to have some background on them and what to expect.
Thanks buddy
Fantastic mate, thank you. Just great information for someone like me (Trad Archer) looking to purchase their first Lever Bow. Always been fascinated by these.
Thanks, very unique bows
Love my Oneida Phoenix for it's robust simplicity. Super efficient heavy stick flinger; very forgiving shooting fingers. This bow is an instinct shooter's dream.
Yea buddy
Love these bows, had the strike eagle back in 90. Gonna buy the Phoenix
Awesome buddy
My dad for my birthday 2 years ago gifted me his 1977 or so Onedia Screaming Eagle. I've never loved a bow so much. Incredible shooting and it's not tuned to me. Still tuned to my dad.
Love your videos. They sold me on getting a Phoenix. I am currently shooting with sights and a rest but may get a second Oneida to learn to shoot fingers.
Awesome you will be hooked
Just the facts... Awesome video thank you.
Thanks buddy, hope it can be off some help with all my random babbling
Great video Tom I'm really on the fence about getting one but your slowly convincing me. I was actually super intimidated about these bows but sounds like it's actually easier to work on than a compound. For my instinctive style of shooting this sounds like the ticket!
I was the same way at first but after a lot of hands on learning about the Phoenix I will now own 3 as my wife’s bow shows up, they look cool, dead in the hand, and as accurate as you can be
Oneidas are sooo much easier to work on and you don't need a pro shop or a bow press! I can field strip mine in 15 min and be back killing stuff. Right in the woods!!!
Your a real inspiration. Keep it up
😊 thanks
Quiver looks retro. I happen to hunt with retro equipment as it still gets the job done.
Oneida guy myself!! Enjoyed the video!
Thank ypu
very nice overview on your Oneida …best experiance sharing on them on UA-cam very nice, I did the same on many points…yes we can work them all …i did round up the edges as well ! and you know what i do not like the string stops either…dont make anything nicer….on my site in addition i like to shoot it in different variations from bare hand till all upgraded with stabilizers plus Axcel site and i shoot it 50m money….great and by itself very ballanced bow … Greatings Bernd
Sounds great 👍🏻
You and Tim wells talked me into getting one of these bad boys over the winter. Trying to get it tuned right now but arrows are almost as bad as bullets to get. Everything sold out
eBay or Amazon, I usually get mine off eBay,
@@TRIBEDRAKE I didn’t try ebay yet, have to take a look. Tinkering around but keep hitting knock right. You ever have your bows creaking when you draw back? It’s not too bad, but I’m kinda anal with that stuff too.
@@codyyoutz cody,do yourself a favor buy a dozen 300 spine ( if your shooting 65#s )traditional only arrows from 3 rivers they are 10.1 gpi my oneida loves them!! hopes this helps Rich
Great review!
Thanks
I'm with you I won't go in the woods without my high capacity quiver! Mine is a cat quiver though. Best thing I ever did is get that big heavy quiver off my bow.
Any chance you are going to be at the leverbow rendezvous?
What is the rendezvous ? What is going to go on there?
I would sure like to have one some day. Sure is a bit scary with all of the hardware though.
Got back up string / cables coming. Recurve shooting daily was not favorable to the body this is best draw cycle in the business and can handle a lot of diff arrows. Shooting airborne targets w the speed is a blast.
Cool
Nice video .. even better bows cheers 👍
Thanks
I would love to find a Martin super quiver. I have been looking for a while with no luck.
Hard to find these days
I want the quiver ive been searching all over lol i know they dont make them no more a needle in a haystack lol
Great review. Can you go over what rest you use and quiver you use and how you mounted it. I just got a phoenix for my birthday this weekend but I am finding it hard to find anything on what kind of rest to use. Thanks.
I can do that
I use a flipper on mine works great.
You’re very entertaining 😂
Love that Dog!@!
He’s smart but can be stubborn
Not nearly as bad as my old blood hound
Im looking for replacement cables. Whats the difference between the colors of power cables and their purposes in color
Oneida factory cables are twisted up differently with a core and i actually prefer them better cause they seem to last longer
The colored ones are ok but are usually a standard 7x19 I think and they won’t give a warning sign when they start to break strands
Standard thing for most people is to change em out once a year
I will need you to re-do the entire video as the cuteness of the Airedale was too much. Lol
We have two wire fox terriers and their personalities are very similar
Lol 😂
what quiver is that? love that man quiver
Martin super quiver
What length Oneida w a 27 “ draw would you suggest ? Great stuff 👍
Phoenix short
Use F mods or g mods and break the tails off
Your like my little brother, following in my foot steps,,😊,ive had oniedas since the 80s,,best hunting bow ever,,I need one of those shivers,,flu flus on the outside, genius
Thanks buddy
Hey, I'm thinking about ordering a Phoenix. I usually shoot recurve barebow. I have about a 29'' draw length. Would it make sense to go medium or large?
Also, as I am used to shooting off the shelf, do you have any recommendations for arrow rests and/or sights to use with the Phoenix?
Go Phoenix long with the f module, nap centerest for fingers or sight shooting and any kind of rest from drop away to whisker biscuit, my wife uses the IQ bow sight
@@TRIBEDRAKE Thanks for the help!
Wich one better?Oneida Bow ou Compound Bow?
The compound bows seem to be more problematic compared to Oneida Bow...wich is easier to mantain?
Oneidas are simple, cables and one string, no bow press needed.
You just have to learn the mechanics or it and how to tune it.
Oneida all the way
That is a sweet man-quiver. What kind is it exactly?
Martin super quiver
Not made anymore
If I can figure out how to manufacture my own I will,
@@TRIBEDRAKE well I like it. I've been saying for 15 years somebody needs to make a high capacity quiver! Didn't know anybody did years ago
@@tomellendorf7236 sometimes they pop up for sale on eBay and facebook
@@TRIBEDRAKE awesome thanks for the heads up
I'm looking for a 10 arrow quiver. Can't find any. Where can I get one? thnx
Have to check eBay or internet
They don’t make em anymore mid I could figure out how to manufacture my own I would
I’m ordering a Phoenix soon and was wondering if I can get 30” draw out of the medium or do I have to order the large?
Gotta get the Phoenix long
Hi im looking at ordering a phoenix, as there is no dealers around I'm trying to figure out what length to get, I'm around 28.5 with a Matthews
You shooting fingers or a release?
@@TRIBEDRAKE I want to try fingers
Medium should work good for you,
Hey can I get the Phoenix long?? Is it still up for grabs?
It’s long gone buddy
Don’t give up, they are worth every penny
May I know what's the quiver name you are using? I've been looking through everywhere but seems can't find any quiver more than 7 arrows.
Martin super quiver
@@TRIBEDRAKE Thanks! Looks already stop producing, have to keep an eye on the market 😂
Is the long still available for sale
No , sold the bow the day of the video
What quivers are these? Nice videos
Martin super quiver
@@TRIBEDRAKE thankyou!
Where do you get your high capacity quivers I can’t find them anywhere, could you send me a link to them? What’s the name of them?
Martin super quiver
They discontinued them
I will manufacture my own if I can figure out how to
@@TRIBEDRAKE man I can’t seem to find them anywhere, i really like the fact that you can carry all the arrows, I’m like you i like to shoot, I’m gonna keep looking for it but if you have a link to a web site that you buy them from please send it to me, thank you
@@MrDragline33 no links
Had mine a long time, not sure where you will find one
@@TRIBEDRAKE yeah they are hard to find, but the search is on, thanks for replying
Good luck this season and keep the videos coming
Indeed, those quivers look so tough, if you manufactured them I think you’d sell out.
Where did you buy your Phoenix from
Oneida eagle bows website
What’s the mounted light you got?
Cheap red light that mounts on bow
Predator hunt with it
Is timber camo your third ?
Ya. Making it a fishing bow
Where do u get a quiver like that??
They don’t make them anymore, just gotta search for them, sometimes you might find one for sale
Where do you get the man quiver from?
Got them off eBay probably 12 years ago
So for $1,300 you have to fix the radius because they are not properly honed out smooth
I just tend to make things the way I want them, the bows from the factory are perfectly fine and lots of people shoot them with no problems
@TRIBEDRAKE I'm like you I want it right... I've seen guys put the colored cables on to match the bow string etc. and don't want custom cables getting cut. I have been looking at these new redesigned bows but I am assuming they are still heavy and long and some say noisier then compound bows, but they should be alot quite now then of old. Went to the website to get specs but they leave the info out I'm looking for. I emailed them so we shall see
@@rickvann3489 what do you need to know
@@TRIBEDRAKE the specs of the bow weight, length, IBO speed Specs
Hey man what quiver do you use?
Martin super quiver
Good luck finding one
They discontinued them because I guess people don’t like offensive high capacity carrying devices
Stratus
hey Tom - how do I contact you (or you me) w/o publishing our phone #'s to the WWW ? Thank you - Rich
Fb messenger or email
No one shoots everything like we do. I hunt I eat everything. Lol
Gotta eat
🙄👍🤙🫶
I’m planning to get an Oneida Phoenix or a G String Pro2G. Would you be able to share insights comparing the two?
I’ve never had anything but Oneida
Heck I didn’t even know a g string pro 2g existed 😂
@@TRIBEDRAKE haha I believe it was just released so I get it. I wish more people post about lever bows but fwiw love your content.
@@69elchupacabra69 thanks buddy
I need to make some vids as soon as I can
Did you order those limbs in rattlesnake? Or have them dipped? Whats up with that?
Ordered like that, dipped em
btw if that phoenix is still for sale let me know, I can message you on FB or email
Sorry I sold it , it didn’t last long
@@TRIBEDRAKE As expected, that is such a nice bow
