What a horrible experience for a dealer to go through, did same with Real Truck in America, never again. Thank you, was hung up on need to buy an Oneida, problem solved. Cheers.

Just bought an Oneida Phoenix and had exactly the same problem (same cam same grub screw) - thanks to your video I was able to sort out the problem ( I used blue loctight on the grub screws in the hope that this will stop them coming loose again) - keep up the good work.

These were the best and simplest designed compound bows for years before the block and tackle bows were finally perfected in the 2000s.
Oneida is the only bow I shoot and the only one I can repair in the field by myself!

I'm all for blasting it back apart and powder coating it green like the one Oneida gave you and your staff "stold". I always wanted one for nostalgic sake's, I like old unique things. A lady at the range has one that her father gave her, kind of neat. You sir squashed my want of owning one.

Ive had a Tomcat, Phantom, Strike Eagle, Aero Force, LFM, Tomcat x80 and a Kestrel, Ive called Oneida a hundred times, they ALWAYS helped me...Ive broken tons of shit...Ive gotten every part of these bows for free from them except the inboards/outboards, risers and power cables....plates, cams, timing cables, fasteners and modules...all free of charge shipping only, this guy adjusted his bow inappropriately...end of story...arrow trick is smart, I made a jig with a spacer and rodstock threaded at each end...

If you ever have to work on another Oneida use duct tape to hold your cables in place once you get them wrapped around the cams.Power cables should go on first, and I would bet that the condition of that bow was caused by one of the outboard limbs coming in contact with something upon the arrow being released.I felt for you working on that bow, been there many times.

I shot for the original Oneida back in the 80s when I was still shooting, hunting and competing in the Limited (fingers) classes. I Hunted with a Screaming Eagle and shot what the guys at Oneida called a "T-1000" - white riser, inboard and outboard limbs, full color Oneida graphics and chrome or polished idler wheels and timing cams. It's the only bow with which I ever shot a perfect score and did so several times. Loved the bow, shot it better than any of the dozens of other bows I've shot in 55 years, but diagnosing a problem on them was a major league headache sometimes...

It happened almost the same to my Strike Eagle when I had it new in the 90's. The string suddenly broke while it was in a full drawn. The modules shattered and I noticed the power cable had couple of strings broken. I called and they sent me a set of modules and cables for free. I did ordered a new FF string from them. I suspected the cause was the brass nock was too tight to the string and it might had pinched and weaken the string. It was in the late 90's and their customer service was great. I still have the bow.

    Steven--
Great video...thanks for doing these. When I bought my Phoenix, I was expressly warned that shooting light arrows were akin to dry firing, which would lead to what happened to the bows you were showing. Do you know what the spec was on the arrows the archers owning the bows were shooting? Was this a valid warning, or pure BS? I pretty much only put the Easton Dangerous Game FMJ 250 through mine, for the record. I ask as you seem to be the most knowledgable individual on UA-cam about the Oneidas.
    Cheers!

He warned anything less is like dry firing the bow, as not enough energy is transmitted to the arrow. Now I don't know if that's BS, but Easton Dangerous Game FMJs are all I put through mine and I haven't had an issue with my Phoenix (yet).
Tended to believe him as he didn't carry the arrows, but pointed me to someone that did. Again, I can't tell you if it was BS, but damn, it throws those heavy arrows so well...
