    Thank you so much! My Chem. teacher didn't explain what this was, how to do it, or even what the goal really was to it and just threw us into a lab centered around it. I've been freaking out because every video I watched didn't explain that you took the subscript of a polyatomic ion only and I was getting so confused. I think I'll be able to go to school tomorrow and finish the lab fairly accurately. Thanks a million.

      You are so welcome Hailee! I'm always happy to explain concepts 😊

    • @SolidSiren
      @SolidSiren 4 роки тому +1

      No no...you DONT take the subscripts. You ONLY look at the charge of each element or polyatomic ion. You ignore the subscript because it will just be a multiplier. I believe you can actually just multiply the charge by the subscript of every element or polyatomic ion, as long as you do it for every constituent of the equation.

    • @Amy-xu9jg

    Thanks for the video. I have determined that Chemists have arbitrarily set rules on how to balance equations or predict reactions. Deciding when to include or exclude subscripts seemingly can’t be explained - instead you’re just supposed to remember when to use them and when not to.
