The Mr Rogers of fishing “welcome to my kayak this boys and girls is a five pound small mouth I catch them all the time”.... Great video sir as always!
One thing that I like about this guy is this:He doesn't turn into a swearing, cursing nutjob like some of these other fishermen do. He's calm, cool, and collected.
In a world full of 5K pro anglers and 12 inch fish finders this man does WORK in a kayak that's not even in production anymore with minimal equipment and still catches 'em. Respect
I can watch your videos for 4 hours straight cause it feels like I’m out there with you on that river, that’s what makes your videos so enjoyable. The sounds of nature and flowing crystal clear water.
The best moment of my day is when I treat myself to one of your gorgeous videos before going to bed. A beautiful clean river with plenty of marvellous fish. Definitely another dream come true is this video of yours as always. Thanks.
I agree man I'm kind of need watching this videos but so far he hasn't disappointed also like the channel Thy pig patrol not sure if I spelled that correctbut he does a lot of different type of fishing catches the monsterseven had some killer peacock bass and different Amazon species he caught I think the ones were called Golden trovalley it was an awesome video in almost all his are I'm not talkin about the guy that took obsessed with stashes and mustache gross cuz their names are similar
This man definitely is a great Smallmout Bass fisherman.I've also seen him catch huge Northern Pike and Muskellunge. He is truly an ace in all facets of freshwater fishing.
Your attitude and content is all I needed to 'smash that like button and subscribe' in a heartbeat without needing to be reminded. No music, no BS, no drama. Just pure gorgeous outdoors and an awesome, wholesome attitude. Thank you.
Another half hour of relaxing entertainment on the tubes best fishing channel. Makes me want to move to Minnesota/North Dakota. Very enjoyable. Those smallies are gorgeous fish indeed. They don't get alot of air like a bucket mouth but are real scrappers when hooked up.
I love the vids where you have the drag tightened down and are just pulling em in one after another but these are definitely more relaxed and chill when you just find a spot and catch some nice ones
Fun video. I want to thank you for so many aspects of it: thanks for not being an obnoxious YT bro, thanks for just doing your thing without swearing and hype. Most of all, thanks for just going to an average place and catching fish and showing that anybody can do the same. We need more of this on this platform.
You're an inspiration to fishing and clean conversation. I've learned a lot in the past few months watching your videos. Stay safe and keep up the good work.
Recently looked into getting a yak for fishing and discovered your channel. Definitely my favorite fishing channel thus far. Soothing, yet exciting and you make me want to go fishing every video! Keep it up!
I have to say, I love your channel, you’re not all yappy and fake like most of the other guys, trying to sell something. You’re just a country boy doing some fishing - I like your style, very relaxing with no stupid music blaring in the back ground, just nature at it’s best. Cheers
Ohh man this is one of my fav videos that you've posted. Finally found this creepy building on google maps after a year or so trying to pin down this spot. Might have to take the drive from Chicago this summer!
I grew up on a river in Ontario Canada called the Grand. It looks just like that river you were fishing and you caught more smallies in one day than I did my whole childhood. Great video
I don't usually comment, but your channel is worthy of a compliment. Thanks for an awesome trip with you as always. Keep them coming, appreciate every one of your videos. Cheers.
I still can get over how clear the water is up there... We don't have anything remotely close to anything like this down in SW Louisiana where I live!!! I've got to go fly fishing on a river like this in Tennessee a few years ago and loved every second of it. But I've always wanted to go catch some smallmouth like this. Great video brother!!
I found this channel 3yrs ago and let me tell you, this bro introduce me to the rat, the live target frog, and the whopper plopper, I had been out of bass fishing for at least 7yrs but when I found his channel I purchased lures rods and I found my groove for bass fishing once again!. and he ain't doing all these silly childish challenges or trying to sell you something.
Matt, The sound of drag, music to my ears. You are a master of the Bitsy Bug (plopper and spook also). I bet those two 20” fish were in the 5 lbs range. Especially the last one, it looked nice and thick.
Love the Bitsy bug, and having some good success on the river. With the same setup blue and black bitsy-bug black crawl trailer. I really enjoy the videos
I’m learning so much from you and so far it’s all paid off in spades. The fisheries are different here in Middle TN but your techniques work like a charm. I would like to know more about your kayak setup, anchor etc. you seem to have your finger on the pulse of Mother Nature. Keep it up!
I think it’s great that you aren’t averse to switching baits and trying different ones regularly. As a new bass fisherman I find myself trying to balance between experimentation with new products and over buying more tackle. Sound familiar? Care to do a vid where you take us into the workshop and display your tackle? I’d find it interesting for you to share your backstory in fishing and maybe rediscover some of your gems buried deep in the tackle boxes that you dust off for a go. BTW loved the tribute vid on your grandpa and showing us how you brought those old lures back to life. Keep yakking man!
I live on the Russian river in Northern California . I catch some 20 “ smallmouth every year . I would love to share some spots . You are definitely the best smallmouth angler I’ve ever seen . I really would love to travel back East and do some float tube fishing in a lake for smallmouth , like the boundary waters video you did . I was actually looking at northern Minnesota areas before I saw your video . I’m so jacked now . Keep up the amazing videos . Thank you .
This guy has to be one of the finest fisherman you'll ever see on TV or UA-cam! The fact that he catches hog smallmouth, Pike & Muskie, Walleye, & every other fish that swims shows just how good he is because it's not easy being good at catching everything! The heck with watching those duds doing the fishing tournaments as this is WAY MORE FUN to watch! Of course he uses great gear in all of his videos, but I'll bet he could use a $30 rod from Walmart & do just as good. Again, he's a stud & I'm jealous that I don't have that here in the mid-Atlantic area!
Even my WIFE looks forward to your posts! I fished a building kind of like that on the Mississippi in MN. Beautiful scenery. It’s amazing how you control your boat and presentation in current. I have a Hobie and I can’t imagine paddling and casting without it turning into a huge cluster F.
The Power Pole anchor is a game changer on stretches of river like this! I can pick apart just about every piece of structure on a short section of river and not have to paddle upstream to far to get back.
George, which Hobie do you own? I've been thinking about getting a Compass. But your comment gives me pause. Why wouldn't it work in this spot? Thanks for any advice you can offer.
Gary I have 2-Hobie’s with mirage drive and they work great. I’ve tried fishing out of a traditional paddle kayak and I can’t keep it in a spot with even the slightest amount of wind or current. I think ND Yakker has mentioned that the drives run too deep for his type of shallow water fishing. If you were running it up on the rocks in shallow water all day you’d be in trouble. I fish the inshore ocean here in Southern California mostly so it’s not an issue. Good luck you you!
I like how you gently release the Smallies as it shows that you care about them, but I must suggest considering to crush or at least partially crush the barbs on your hooks. It really helps with easier and less damage to the fish. I regularly connect with 18-20" Smallies on the Kankakee River in Illinois, I prefer taking them with the fly rod but the spinning rod is a lot of fun too. Thanks for sharing, and putting the time into well done videos, it would be fun to chase Smallies with you!
The right Finish woman would take one of those carp and pickle it up and em good. Like the sound of that river it was so relaxing wanted to take nap while watching this video. These are good videos.
I feel relaxed whenever I watch these videos
Same
Same here!
It's like watching Bob Ross paint trees 😊
Same
I feel left out when watching them😂
No obnoxious "SMASH THAT LIKE BUTTON AND SUBSCRIBED!!!!!" Just good wholesome fishing. Because of that I do both. Keep up the great work.
Couldn't have said it better myself :)
He's like the Bob Ross of fishing.
Exactly why I subbed and 👍. Great channel!

He still doesn't do it. Of course, I do. Just nice not to have to hear it.
@@futur_sunds I thought the same thing before.

Probably the best angler on UA-cam definitely in my top 3 favorites on UA-cam. Great video bud keep em coming.
I agree. Jay Siemen's channel is pretty good too. He usually has some good info.

Yeah his content is super consistent and never gets old. One of my top favorites is when he put GoPros on beds and was doing neko rig fishing
Crazy how easy you make it look.
That's the sign of a very skilled angler.
Warren Pouyer...the force is strong with this one.
he is a very good angler, but he also shows only his catches, so it makes him look good, he's still a fishing master though

The water is so clear. You can really see how the smallies’ coloring fits perfectly with their environment!

I always get jazzed when I see your videos man!
Who would dislike this? Like, why are you here...
Smallmouth bass probably dislike it, but I'm not even sure that's the case. After all, sometimes they come right up to him and let him pet them.
PETA
People who dislike how easy he makes it look catching these smallys because they go out ALL DAY and get skunked.
I agree, maybe it was losers looking for "creepy" videos...and were disappointed to find it's a bass video and not Salad Fingers or something...
people who dont understand why just catch to release... just for your own fun? I dont get it... catch and eat or dont catch!
