My husband revealed to me his deep love of liver and i absolutely hate liver! I had no clue how to even make it and what was required. I came across your recipe and let’s just say he TORE IT UP !!!Philly Boy Jay thank you sooooo much! I’m not even a cook and I just got married. I’ve been following your recipes and measurements and it’s been amazing! You are saving wives around the world❤️❤️❤️
Make sure it’s not actually low copper. Copper is needed to mobilize iron, so without sufficient copper, iron is just stored in the liver with nowhere to go!
I watched your video yesterday and bought everything I needed and I cooked this for my mom just now to help build up her iron level and she said its delicious!!! Thanks for sharing this recipe 👍
My grandmother use to make this anytime when I was a kid growing up. She always served it with rice and we tore it up....If she was still living today, that would be one of her favorite dishes...keep up the good work brother.....you always have my support......God Bless............
I am not a fan of liver but I'm sure when I make it myself it will be decent. I want to try my hands at this because my mom likes it and my boyfriend does too,and my mom suffer from low blood and liver supposedly helps with this. AMEN 🙏🙂
Tried this with 1.25 lbs chicken livers and used 3 med onions, only 1 cup beef broth (plus the slurry), caramelized the onions instead of quick cook, and it turned out great. Been searching for a recipe like this long time. Thanks so much!
I found it inspiring. I pressure cook the liver for tenderness. I'm cooking the liver and onions separately for tenderness. Singe the onions very well. I like how you finished with the broth and letting the flour thicken. Perfect, thank you very much
Heres a little tip for you. First fry up some bacon crispy. Take the bacon out and then do all your spices, onions and fry up the liver in the bacon grease. Plate your delicous liver and onions...crumble the bacon and sprinkle over the liver. Now we're talking! Trust me on this.
Tried this recipe tonight and OMG! It was my first time making liver and I nailed it. Didn't have any beef broth but substituted with Lipton Beefy Onion Soup Mix and water. Turned out perfect. Thank you! 😊
I used to fix liver and onions for my dad, when he was alive. Since he passed I haven't done so....maybe once. Thanks for the heads-up...I love liver and onions...I really like your channel and the way you prepare the food...
I DO NOT eat LIVER nor hv I "EVER" tried 2 cook it. But, my friend asked me 2 come over and cook Him some. I needed 2 know HOW and I clicked on this video. I gotta say, THAT LOOKS GOOD & Imma follow ur way of cooking and HOPE he is pleased.👍🏾👍🏾
This health benefits of this dish are astronomical. It does take a while to acquire the taste for it, but once you do it becomes just about the most delicious thing in the world :) I don't do mine with rice tho. It's all about Brussels sprouts and beets.
Love liver and could eat an onion like an apple, my mom used to almost throw up making it, but she knew how much I loved it, so she made it. Big fan of chicken gizzards too. I think a lot of people say they hate it, but never tried it. Not for everyone, but personally my favorite...
Yes Lawd! I haven't had liver and onions in such a long time. I'm adding the ingredients to my shopping list. I'll be making this really soon. Thanks Phillyboy!!!

Thank you for this post! Making this for my husband who is going through treatment for throat cancer and nothing tastes good - I am thinking this will do the trick, ;)
Everyone cooks liver differently, i clean mine with lime or lemon, season it, just to give it flavor and that smell. I'm from the islands but I will try your way next time cause i love LIVER.🌷🌷🌷🌷
The best I've ever made. Trust me. You are the truth. I did onion soup mix instead of the just beef broth at the end. Mmm.mmm.mmm. with some mashed potatoes

I'm sorry, but this remark is too wholesome for the UA-cam comments section.
Truth
I haven't had liver since I was a kid...and since my iron is low and I dont want to take iron pills...I'll try this.
You're not alone
ME TOO
You can start drinking anything out of an aluminum can
Make sure it’s not actually low copper. Copper is needed to mobilize iron, so without sufficient copper, iron is just stored in the liver with nowhere to go!
Beef liver is a fast way to get your iron up. And it is a good source of copper.

I found it inspiring.
I pressure cook the liver for tenderness.
I'm cooking the liver and onions separately for tenderness.
