this is why I want the MCU to BUILD to the Phoenix Saga, and use the 90s animated series for inspiration on how to get it right. Give us the Shi'ar & the Starjammers, have Jean go away for a while as Phoenix and return for the Dark Phoenix story with the Hellfire Club and the fight on the moon against the Shi'ar Imperial Guard. 20th Century Fox had to produce a 2nd Fantastic Four movie reboot in order to keep its license from Marvel Entertainment. Every bit of news regarding Josh Trank's reboot did not settle well with fans online. His awful reaction AGAINST those fans made the movie less palatable.
What is astoundingly hilarious is that Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer portrayed Galactus as a giant, malevolent cloud, which was just a very awful decision. To top that, the creators of Ryan Reynold's unbeloved disasterpiece Green Lantern decided to make the main bad guy Parallax into a giant cloud, apparently with the idea: "We know how to repeat others' bad decisions just to show that we can make bad decisions."

The first Tomb Raider movie is excellent, it just is. It's got crazy good action sequences, good humour and the cast had excellent on screen chemistry. If you didn't enjoy the 00's Charlie's Angels, it's possible you don't understand satire at all. They were fantastic. The McG Charlie's Angels movie was terrific fun. And I'm sorry, but dinging "Charlie's Angels" for embracing the "male gaze" is like complaining that women bounce in slow motion on Baywatch. You may be missing the point. If you thought people were watching the original TV show because female detectives are awesome, then you clearly have never heard the 1970s phrase "jiggle TV". (PSST! A lot of TV shows ONLY existed because of that. There was no Internet. There wasn't even videotape.)

Michael Curtiz's Oscar-nominated The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) doesn't exist, neither do Disney's version (1973), Robin and Marian (1976) and probably others. That's way when a ranking list usually says "of all time" and just quotes films, movies or series from the 90s or later, it's most likely and understatement if not a product of poor and neasighted work.

I notice that there are no mentions of earlier Robin Hood movies, like those ones starring Errol Flynn. But, on the subject of Robin Hood, what could be a really good adaptation could be developments from the 80s TV series Robin of Sherwood. For me, that was the perfect adaptation which was true to a historical adaptation which also blended in the magical and religious elements into it too. If only something could be adapted from that sauce.

Once a film is made all additional movies that continue the character are sequels (just remaking doesn't make it a sequel so you wouldn't call Prince of Thieves a sequel to Errol Flynn's Robin Hood, but The Godfather III is a sequel to both the first and second)

If the missions from Hitman movies were played on the video game, 47 would receive the rating of MASS MURDERER for most of them, which in Hitman is the equivalent of a large red F on your English test. In a properly executed Hitman mission...
    - Only the target dies.
    - Either his death appears accidental, or his body isn't found until later.
    - 47 uses stealth, disguises, and distraction to go unnoticed.
    - The overall scene is undisturbed to the end, as opposed to screams and fleeing civilians.
That doesn't mean a Hitman movie can't feature the occasional blown mission that yields a high body count. But I saw both movies, and they needed more fiber wire and less two handed Silverballer blasting.

As for Tomb Raider well it’s nowhere terrible, second one isn’t good, punching a shark kinda killed it for me but both are watchable and harmless fun. And I think you missed the point of Charlie’s Angles as it was deliberately made to be bad and OTT as a parody of its genre and I found them hilarious for that aspect.

Prior to this I was still a history nerd, but all I was interested in regarding British history was the events in and around 1066 the Norman Invasion and Conquering of England, and the events of the First War of Scottish Independence (which I became interested in after watching Braveheart).

You can't include Robin Hood. It's a constant rebootable in Hollywood. And since Prince of Thieves actually made money, including it as a "terrible adaptation" is incorrect anyway. Instead, you should have included a Hercules bullet. While I enjoyed Dwayne Johnson's Hercules, it didn't perform well, and the one a few years later was forgettable. It's also been a staple of Hollywood for many decades.

The reason Mel Brooks' Men in Tights is considered the "best" Robin Hood is because he made a parody. Like everything else Brooks does, it is extremely funny and that's what people like: the humor. You can not consider that a Robin Hood story any more than you can consider Blazing Saddles a western or Scary Movie a horror film. I personally prefer the grounded Patrick Bergin version to the Kevin Costner one. Both came out in 1991, but the Bergin one is better. (Alan Rickman is a gem, but they overdo it). I really liked what Ridley Scott did in the Russell Crowe Robin Hood (try to establish it historically and a mature romance between Blanchett and Crowe) But if I'm being honest, the best Robin Hood is the Disney one from 1973. That one holds up nicely.

G.I. Joe SHOULD be an awesome movie if you just brought Larry Hama on board to plot the damn thing. The guy took a toy idea and turned it into an animated series and comic book series that have had amazing longevity because there's actually some depth to the characters. Hollywood's snobbery towards anyone who isn't in the film industry has sunk many a comic book adaptation, and G.I. Joe is a prime example.
