I live in upstate NY and drive down to Atlanta every year for Dragon Con. You can do this too. Unless you are too young to drive then you WILL be able to do this. :)

I remember when i once went to a sort of pseudo ‘science convention’ called the “Big Bang Fair” when i was in secondary school in year 8/9 for a school trip to see what career a person could get in engineering. Wasn’t interested in the slightest but it was honestly fun as hell. I could never ever go to a convention by my own accord though. Especially to a gaming convention. Im particularly nerdy but too many awkward, anti social, chaotic people in one room would just be too much for me. Sometimes its better to not bother with the fandom and enjoy something on your own.
