I showed this to my math teacher, because he taught in Thailand for a few years and I thought he might of liked it. I think he's a fan of Susumu Hirasawa now.
That good is you showed this song for your teacher because his song is drug and powerful xD. but you know in thailand, moslty thai people doesn't know the song of susumu hirasawa. btw im his big fan of him from thailand
I like to think there's an alternative universe where Satoshi Kon directed an anime adaptation of Hirasawa's science fiction concept album Sim City. It's a great album.
His music often makes me imagine exotic or epic scenes, hearing this track play to usher in the end of the world; imagining the final struggle to survive an unprecedented catastrophe, and the people's deepest dread at the thought their whole lives will be annihilated so instantly, as they hope for a miracle escape.
Today I was assigned by my peers in a group work to study and summarise the history of a region in the highlands of my country and there´s a large part that refers to the conquest of the territory by the spaniards (I´m peruvian) and how they kicked out the natives and the way they tortured and executed the rebels to show supremacy and then this song comes up in my shuffle selection and I´m just like "I can feel the dread of the people back then, just by hearing this" This carries so much emotion, he combines the sounds so perfectly to create the atmosphere that whatever you would do would be useless and eventually you will perish, but somehow you are still in denial.

It is. Hirasawa based the album on his trip to Thailand and the transsexuals he met over there. It was in dedication to the country and people he met there.
This song kinda takes me back to the surreal impression I once felt in the moment of a sudden & devastating breakup (as a formative teen in the throes of intense passion).
Thanks to all the guys to posting his music. Now, to Amazon for a shopping spree... (so much for hurting the music business - how often did I "spot" a new song, and then bought the album).
I am a Thai person yet i do not yet truly and fully understand how beautiful my country is... I do not truly understand what "Mai Pen Rai" means... what Thai culture that is not spoon fed by the censor crazed and extremely conservative government means... I am just slowly unraveling this mystery that is happening in front and behind of me...
I associate this song with Guts, and currently bingewatching HnK so that could also apply to some extent to Kenshiro since both are rather similar. Basically what I picture while listening to this song is a desolated wasteland, and a lone figure roaming it endlessly, while fighting all kinds of demons figuratively or literally. The burden he bears is so big, since he has to shoulder all the hopes of humanity basically. I wish I was good enough at art to try and capture it, and even then I feel like it won't be epic enough.Out of all Hirasawa's songs this one is the most epic I feel, in terms of the emotions it conveys. It has a sense of dread, especially at the beginning, but then it slowly builds up to something akin to hope.Such an inspiring piece.
This song is deeply layered with meaning.. and most definitely Hirasawa created it on the basis of his experiences with the transgender community in Thailand. The lyrics, not just in this song but in the songs throughout this album describe a location in an alleyway in Thailand as a place in which one can live as one chooses, in perhaps another person's life from the past, maybe someone who never even existed. Further, it seems, that they are 'beckoning' one to do so. To break away from reality, and escape to this 'SIM CITY' .. well secluded in one's own reality.
@@fullcrackalchemist Yes, he’s talked about it on radio shows and on television interviews but where I read it from as well was actually the album’s lyric booklet.
