You raise a really interesting point about thematic trilogies and their meanings, but you performed a mostly textual analysis. I would have loved to see you delve more into the themes and motifs the games share, but this was an excellent look at these games regardless.
For a cute game like Kirby, all-loving heroes facing the most darkest and threatening villains who invaded the sugary sweet fantasy world in fiction is nothing new. I mean, Care Bears or MLP aren't afraid to show the darker side when it comes to fighting disturbing villains. That trope is called _"Vile Villain, Saccharine Show"_ which it's one of the my favorite tropes that got me interested and that actually fits for Kirby to make the games more challenging and complex.

How is this not a narrative-driven trilogy? While not linear, both dreamland 2 and kirby64 source their story from the universal conflict made clear in dreamland 3.
I mostly wanted to make the distinction between this being a stylistic trilogy because I found the elements that are shared between games much more interesting than the story with dark matter itself, and I found that it would be more substantive and interesting if I covered that stuff rather than cover the whole Dark matter narrative
The storylines get resolved the end of each game The only real progress in each story are Dark Matter getting more widespread Other than that they're pretty self-contained

Rest of the info is good though.
The one thing I take issue with is that the Dark Matter trilogy isn’t strictly a fan designation. It’s been an explicit narrative trilogy according to Nintendo and HAL for a while now. Ironically, they’ve been heavily pushing for the segregation of the original KDL1 due to the existence of Spring Breeze and Revenge of the King, and tend to group DL1 with Kirby’s Adventure/Nightmare in Dreamland and Super Star/Super Star Ultra, and those three all focus on artifacts related to the Nova (The starry path of fountains in SS/U, the specific fountain of dreams that starts the path in Adventure/NiDL, and the sparkling stars that form a small part of the energy of the starry path in KDL/Spring Breeze & RotK)
This is a rly good video esp for people who are just learning about kirby :) yet still enjoyable for someone who knows about it..... i wish you more views and subs, this video is crisp and clear!!!

Not a bad video honestly, though I think the game footage could better align with what you're talking about. I just think more specific footage would make the video a bit easier to follow, especially for viewers who aren't familiar with these games.
I gotta be honest, Miracle Matter is probably my favorite boss in any Kirby game. The design is simple yet still unnerving, the arena is properly atmospheric, the fight itself is very creative, and the MUSIC OH MY GOD

So, regarding the Dark Matter connections with characters from later games... Dark Mind: Effectively the Mirror Universe's version of Zero, mixed with a bit of Nightmare. Drawcia, Paintria and Vividria: It's hinted at that Adeline made them. A common theory is that she did so under the influence of Dark Matter, but that's unconfirmed. Drawcia Soul has a somewhat Dark Matter like appearance in how it's a ball with a giant yellow pupil-less eye. Dark Nebula: thought to be a form of dark matter, possibly related to Miracle Matter. A very forgettable character, though, so meh. Magalor: No direct connection, but the Master Crown seems to have one. Dark Crafter: thought to be a form of Dark Matter, not confirmed but the similarities are very noticeable. Void: Oh boy... this one's the one that ties a LOT of stuff together. Void has forms that mirror both Dark Matter AND Kirby, and the lore dumps heavily suggest that Void, Kirby and Dark Matter are all related in some way, possibly even simultanious incarnations of the same entity but influenced in different ways. Void also ties the Master Crown into everything. Chaos Soul: Chaos Elfilis' final form. No actual connections to Dark Matter, in fact the whole plot of Forgotten Land sits on the very far end of the "Ancients" side of things, but Chaos Soul itself is an orb with a bunch of smaller orbs floating around it.
I don't know but I think Kirby games should revisit the whole 100% item collection unlocks the true final boss as opposed to the true final boss being at the end of the boss rush sort of thing. It was interesting because it raises the stakes somewhat for the player. I think the last Kirby game to do this actually was Star Allies but that was a side mode. The true true final boss against Void's Zero like form is still at the end of a boss rush.
