1. Push with your team...follow your trash rando into the heat of battle and certain death 100% of the time. 2. Preserve health...camp 3. Spotting - find enemy squads and spam RB tagging them so many times that your button breaks, or your teammates finally start shooting at and kill them. 4. Manipulate enemies - prematurely pop off your ultimate harmlessly to let enemies know you are a potato noob so they can push in and collect your loot. 5. Anti enemy play - stay in close proximity to your teammates (nut to butt should suffice) and be sure to always ping your card and banner when downed!
At the start of the game, i have found success by not attacking, but just flying around keeping everyone spotted. Typically i don;t make an AP/Torpedo run until 3-4 minutes into the game.
Seeing how this was 4 months ago and I'm just now seeing this lol... I've been grinding carriers like crazy ever since they were officially released. It took me a while to get to courage to push with my team (50% of the time ending in deletion). But in those few games where you have common sense players, the AA teamwork creates an Iron Dome so to speak. Some of what you've explained I've learned the hard way. A tip to pushing with your team: If you can possibly help it, try to keep a land mass between your line of sight to the enemy, that way its harder for them to hit you. Balance the vicinity of your carrier to your teammates and your safety. But don't be the spearhead... with that said, if you happen to have an aggressive team, play AGGRESSIVE. They will benefit from it as much as you will. Last tip, don't worry about destroying a ship. Your strength is harassment. Don't waste bombs or torps on a ship that has low enough HP to die from even a pebble dropping on the deck. That's throwing away max potential damage on another ship. Carriers are support, not a team carrying Battleship lol.
Well thought out comment, thank you. You're right about pushing, and I have learned the hard way as well! The island trick works pretty well...just have to keep an eye on the map. All it takes is one rouge red ships to ruin your day! And certain maps you eventually learn where best to position. Thanks for the comment!
Your point about killing a critical hp ship is debatable. You should always prioritize taking out a dd asap. Also, reducing the enemy numbers quickly means less damage to your teammates. Doing more damage is great, but not if your team loses anyways.
@5orgen51 Oh yes, I agree. I may have misworded it slightly, but I think my intention was to say, "Don't make killing a priority". Of course later on, I learned that DD's are the most important targets to spot. My comment came from someone who was still learning Carriers. I have vastly improved these past 2 years. Destroyers are definitely number 1 target if you happen to spot them. With my first squadron, I usually do a sweep across the map and spot as many ships as possible. Sometimes if I know a certain area is the likely route a Destroyer will traverse, I will drop fighter/spotter planes to scan the area for the next 30-60 seconds. They will either spot the DD or make it take a longer route. Of course, if I happen to spot the DD directly, before my last drop of torps or bombs, I'll drop my fighter planes to continue the spotting.
The fourth tips is really interesting ! Never thought of that.. Although you'd need good map knowledge to see which ships are under friendly fire. Also, my tips : when torpeding DD, if you do not adjust your aim and keep a wide cone, you can actually launch half your torpedoes at surprising angle that will be very hard to dodge. Just need to be used to aiming like that, but works well against very fast DD
Nice tips. Only into my 2nd month for WoWSL and finally got the Implacable and it’s tough. I’m keen to try a couple of these ideas. I’ve probably got bad habits so I best go check your first basics video too.
How sweaty other players get over carriers brings tears of joy to my eyes. People like like it's broken but it's easily the slowest, least maneuverable ship in the game. It's a high risk high reward system where your ship primarily plays defense for other players. It's a support vessel but the typical player who uses the speed boat esque destroyers absolutely DESPISE this and the moment your ship is spotted, no matter if they are getting destroyed by someone else. They will use the last bit of their hp to fire on you.. You're the biggest target on the map
Carriers are very important to a team. Harassing the enemy ships is a lot of fun. But carriers need protection. Push with a teammate but stay away from the map center. Good way to die in a 5 on 1 fight.
It's not glamorous or fun. Everyone wants to hit huge damage numbers and rip red team a new one. In their current state, spotting is about the most helpful thing carriers can do. But hopefully these tips will open people's eyes to other strategies for them
Every single tip video I watch for CVs says to stay with your team. And yet, every time I do that I get wasted really fast. Or, I stick with half the team but they fold like origami and I have to hightail it outta there. Any advice for that?
If your team folds it usually doesnt matter what class of ship you're in, you'll be screwed. Now that I have played more...the tip still stands in the sense that you DO NOT want to reverse to the back of the map. Your squadrons take longer to get to the fight, and you're no where close to the action end game if you need to cap or provide AA support. BUT knowing what map you're on ( some maps are smaller) and good places to position come with practice. Finding cover when you sail forward is key, try to position behind cover. And lastly, sometimes watching how your team deploys first for a couple minutes will let you know if you should push up, where, and when. Happy hunting
@@DerkaGames no problem! I have a question though. If you deploy a patrol squadron on top of an enemy ship as an AA decoy will that work and disperse their fire or will they still focus fire on your attack squadron?
@@iambeloved496 I would have to test that but I'm almost certain the continuous DPM AA would simply apply damage values to all aircraft in the sky at the same time. If you test if before I do let me know!
@@DerkaGames after testing this several times I have noticed it takes time for your fighters to arrive and the enemy will fire at you first. Circling around after dropping them takes too much time and your fighters get mauled before you finish circling around. So no this does not work.
No, usually a bad play to attack CVs in general. They'll eat your squadrons alive. But you can, parseval AP can hit citadels and Soviet carriers can launch all their ordinance at once and be devastating
I’d rather pre drop to save 3-6 aircraft if I’m going for a carrier. Also I had a question this is completely off topic from the video but what do you guys think of the Alaska since my research on it is almost done I want to know what others think of it.
I play the Serov. I have learned to drop torpedoes at range. Keeps my planes alive. Usually only half the sortie dies, unless it is a Cali. I have struggled immensely with the Ranger. Even though it was it has above average plane health. Which is not true. Ryujo is only 400hp plane health less and the servo is lower. Both Weser and furious are higher in plane health and not by a small amount.either
whenever i push with my team, my enemy just focus fire on me eliminating me at a very early stage of the game. how do you properly push with your team?
Nah fighter squads get destroyed easy by AA fire. they wont be around for long to keep it spotted. I use mine to intercept the enemies planes or denie an area to them
This might be a neeeeeewb question, but I’m going to ask it anyway… Ive noticed some players performing evasive manoeuvres in their carrier, while simultaneously performing bombing runs with a squadron. How is this possible? Is it cheating, or am I missing a super useful feature??
Setting a waypoint 90° from the direction your heading while on a run is an easy way to juke torps. That or down on the dpad go full reverse and just stop in place
I left wow initially because no carriers and that isn’t realistic at the slightest. Excuse aircraft carriers played the most PIVOTAL role of practically all naval battles without them it was just ww1 with ww2 ships
World war 1 aircraft carriers had no effect, they were just being developed. This is also a game about surface warfare not about how aircraft carriers made them obsolete.
Can you explain this video in Apex Legends terms?

Try to get behind an island if you can
I do majority of this. Problem with pushing tho is that people can be pretty dumb and leave you exposed
I've run into that too, but still think moving up is better than being that guy in grid square Z-13, taking 2 minutes to get each squadron in tho!
I see videos of people dropping the whole 6 squadron load at once, how is this done?
Also I see people sending multiple squads up, how is this done?
Only 1 squad can be up at a time.
Dropping a whole squadron at the same time can only be done on Soviet carriers
