the Enterprise also was the first American carrier to do night ops. the was an effort to turn her into a museum ship but the shortsighted post-war congress voted against it. parts of Enterprise CV-6 still existed on CV(N) 65 and will be incorporated into the new Enterprise CVN 80 when she's launched in a couple years! may history never forget the name Enterprise!

The Yorktown class aircraft carrier, USS Enterprise (CV-6) was commissioned at Newport News, Virginia, on May 12, 1938. Relocating to the Pacific, she was at sea during the Japanese Attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Three days after, she became the first U.S. Navy warship to sink a Japanese warship, submarine I-70, and later that month participated in the Wake Island expedition. In April, Enterprise covered the Dootlittle Raid on Japan and participated in the Battle of Midway that June, where her planes helped sink three Japanese aircraft carriers and a cruiser. During the Guadalcanal Campaign, she covered the landings and participated in the battles of Eastern Solomons and Santa Cruz Islands. Despite being damaged in both battles, she launched aircraft to assist the ships involved in the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal. In late 1943 and early 1944, Enterprise took part in the Gilberts and Marshall invasions and air attacks on the Japanese in the Central and Southern Pacific. In the summer of 1944, she participated in the Marianas operation and the Battle of the Philippine Sea, followed with the largest naval battle in history, the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October. In February 1945, Enterprise took part in the Iwo Jima invasion, then raids on the Japanese home islands and the Okinawa campaign in April. Due to damage received by two kamikaze attacks in April and May, she returned to the United States with the distinction of being the most decorated U.S. Navy warship during the war. Following Japan's surrender, she helped transport U.S. servicemen back to the United States. Decommissioned in February 1947, Enterprise was redesignated (CVA-6) in October 1952 and then to (CVS-6) in August 1953. Despite efforts to turn her into a museum ship, she was sold for scrapping in July 1958.

She also participated in Doolittle air aid and was escorting the uss hornet. She also got the nickname grey ghost because she was very hard to find in the Pacific and the Japanese called her the grey ghost she even was called lucky E as well. One of my great relatives served on the USS Enterprise all the way till she was melted down but a part was put on the uss Enterprise (cvn65) and now going to be put on the uss Enterprise (cvn80) and her legacy will continue to serve the united states navy and she going to be one of the worlds biggest aircraft carrier when that time comes

The amount of close call that Lucky E had during the war is similar whenever you shoot a fully bright side light cruiser with your battleship and only Get ober penetrations.
Something tells me that specialty of the ship is going to be RNG bass whenever you get shot with the ship. Because of low The water line the citadel is.
By the way you should put the torpedo protection as well because it covered the citadel with 102 mm + the torpedo bulge.

In the battle of midway, one of Enterprises SBD pilots was one of two pilots to sink two of the four carriers in a single day.
the Enterprise was knocked out of the war after a kamikaze hit her and launched her forward elevator overboard.
If it hadn’t been for that, it likely would’ve been Enterprise that would have had the Japanese surrender signed aboard.

They won't, campaigns don't usually come back unless it's for GXP or LT bureau

Ok, seems that WOWSL destoryed the armaments equipped but the history of this ship is fantastic. I am glad they finally put this ship in the game and hope that they fix the armaments on the "Lucky E", "White Ghost" or the "Big E".

Exactly when you show the damage the average damage it really shows how carrier hate is completely unwarranted the struggle to even get average damage numbers of the other ship types and I don't even mane carriers but I will rush to their defense personally they're not my go-to play style I like to play brawler battleships but that's just me
The problem is carriers get to do it from the back of the map without having to put themselves in danger
@@SpartanElite43 Most BB are behind me when I play CV, even before the fuel nerf. If a CV play in the back she will probably not affect the outcome of the battle...
Enterprise has 20 while new jersey only has 19 well not only but still enty wins by one. She deserves her recognition she not only did so much but suffered so much both her sister ships were sank Yorktown and hornet. Probably one of if not the best us ship ever

Man there’s a serious issue with secondaries on certain ships. I’m playing the Andrea doria and despite the 135 mm turrets point forward, they will not fire until you’re entirely broadside.
It has nothing to do with turret turn time, they simply refuse to fire unless a certain angle is presented despite them being on target
USS Enterprise is literally the most badass ship out of ww2 and it was not because of just the ships story because without her crew she never would have gotten this much fame as the Grey Ghost.
@CptBooz113 I'd say losing one life wish it was impeccable stats but one life lost is way more impressive than anything big E has. Trust a very knowledgeable vet. New Jersey do your history she always got the shaft. Missouri signing was cause our president was from where oh Missouri but new jersey it was gonna be signed on. Some of the men were sad but politics.
I’ve saved 298 PO’s to get 2 commanders to level 16, so when I get her I will be prepared and also reeves is a good inspiration for both the hybrid and Ernest

The Big E has the most amazing track record in WW2. From Midway to Japan. She fought.
Unfortunately she scrapped after WW2, which I think it is a shame. It is a very famous ship, if a Time Machine were invented, I would save Enterprise from the scrappers.
The Japanese hated her so much that they lied to their military and falsely claimed 3 different times that they sunk Enterprise 😂 hence she got the nickname Gray ghost.
I honestly love the big E but I think that getting the kerseage as the campaign ship reward would have been better

If other awards/recognitions bring them to a tie, battlestars is the tie-breaker.

Makes you wonder if she’ll be noticeably better with the upcoming captain Picard commander? Will be curious to see what they do for that. If not hopefully she gets a buff to her bomb pen.

Also I stated this before but the two most common load outs for the Enterprise’s Helldivers was either 1x 500lbs bomb and 2x 250lbs bombs (that might explain the lower damage) or 1x 1,000lbs bomb.
The bombs may also be effective against carrier decks.

To be honest, Enterprise seems like it’s made to Carrier snipe, and remove cruisers and battlecruisers.

I wish I could play carriers. I have an issue where aircraft causes me to desync from the server and gives me a Code 11. Since Battlecarriers are a thing, its gotten worse. I can barely play my favorite ship game and Wargaming doesn't even care to fix it.
Its honestly kinda sad that we waited all this time and the ship isn't even that great.. both bombers are slower with less hp than saipan, both have worse bomb and torpedo damage and the torpedoes are slower and you get 3 instead of 4. I played a game where i got 10 torp hits and 45 bomb hits but only 90k damage, if i did the sam in saipan that would have easily been over 100k minimum, like when does this ship get good?

Yeah I’ve seen one of these in battle but yeah this thing is very underwhelming right now a buff is for sure gonna come the AP bombs do absolutely nothing and the torps are slower than molasses

When planed drop their bombs they return to the carrier so this can be used to save some planes so you get less planes shot down when attacking an enemy with a lot of AA

Spartian its not that you cant do damage fast enough, its that as a CV you cant be expected to babysit every bad players who rushes in and feeds the first chance they get and then blame the CV for their feeding. Just Like a group of bad RPGers who dont know how to tank, DPM or support. 85k-100k is the norm for an experienced CV player so you did well considering
From what i have gotten i think that average is accurate maybe for a good cv player it is 100-115 k but last patch it was around 115-140k for a good cv player.
I got Connecticut last night she is spicy been having 100k sometimes 200k games in her. She fun to play but she has 14 inch’s guns same guns Florida has but better.
seems like a good carrier,but is it worth getting the backing because i already got Connecticut and Nebraska,not to mention saipan
The admiralty backing is the best 2500 you can spend but the ship is a collector

Best ship in US history and its done dirty by WG. Sad. Thinking HE bombs would help tremendously or a drastic buff to AP bombs as they are horrible for damage. Hope they tweak this legend in the future.

If the next Azur Lane collab has Enterprise in it, I'd like her to have both a AP bomb skill and HE bomb skill if you use her for different carriers, so far though i've actually been enjoying her so far

How did he put out the second flood? It's called cheating. My friend and I watched a dude put every fire out between 10 and 30 seconds apart. For the entirety of the game. Multiple people shooting at dude but every time he got out on fire, he magically immediately put it out.
I doubt it.. most likely first flood was put out by fight fire with fire due to Helena he spam

How many fires was it? Theres a commander ability that automatically extinguishes all fires as soon as you have 3 ongoing fires and this doesn't have a cooldown.

I have a question guys I am new to legends and missed most of the event but I think I have time to grind the stages just wonder if the event is over can I get the rest of the stages for gold like the dockyard system in the pc game or is it just gone?
Once the campaign ends it is over however you can buy the rest over the stages any time before the end of the campaign

Enterprise was the most decorated of WW2. There's been at least 2 other ships since then that have surpassed her
What ship have more than 20 battle stars.. new jersey only had 19 in a 50 year service history
@@SpartanElite43 So if we're just counting Battle Stars then she's tied with USS Fletcher with 20. But if we're talking about all major decorations then USS Parche SSN 683 earns that title with 33 Decorations, making her the most decorated ship in US history. Even Fletcher has more overall decorations than Enterprise if you count her other awards while Enty has 21 total (20 stars, 1 citation). But im not trying to undercut her achievements, she's still the record holder for WW2 no matter what.

Now all i wanna see in wows legends is the ability to have multiple carriers in matches, so that way carriers can show their true strength to quote admiral halsey from the enterprise Americas fightingest ship and the men who helped win world war two "two carriers are 4 times as powerful as one" so that carrier players whether they be old and new can work together and coordinate attacks on a single ship like one uses dive bombers and the other uses torp planes, does anyone agree, if not and you decide to reply i only ask that you dont be a asshole in your reply

Only kaga, americans are more versatile
Only Kaga rest of the ijn cv's all need to pre-drop or get deplaned. Still Kaga Saipan Lexington in that order as best cv's still.
Bombs do not look good. Parseval is taking 1/3 of Bismark at a single drop. And has better fast torps.
CV's are trash for the game and the hybrids seem to be even worse. I get the historical significance of them and the roll they played. That being said I just don't like what they've done to the overall gameplay. Instead of new maps, better spawns, weather conditions, team matching (just in the sense of having 8 DD's to a team), and the various other glitches, its more plane shenanigans. I don't care to spend anything more than admiral backing anymore. But that's just me.
