Enjoyed this little Lancaster pub crawl. We have micro breweries all over the place in the US, but very few offer anything less than 4%. I wish they would. Cheers, Dave.
Yes a good traditional Manchester brewery along with Holts, Lee's, n Robbies. Funny how they've all survived n Boddies went by the wayside. Yes nice beer glasses as well , cheers Andy🍺👍
I love being included on your tour around to several pubs! Great to hear and see the locations and get a sense of what they are all about. Cheers to you and Doug! Ready for the next one! 🍻
Oh Lancaster Black, got this in bottle in Waitrose 👍 have to be a Modern Monday Review 👍 oh those Hydes beers look fantastic 👌 another cracking Mild 👌 oh another Dark Mild I ain't heard of Fell Brewery and what a drink to have as last pint cheers lads, fantastic as always 👍🍻🍻👍👍🍻🍻
Finishing on the legendary Old Peculiar, proper pub crawl Dave - glad the narrow boat was chilled the next day to look after the head 😅. You sail that all the way from IOM 😂
Blimey Swinton, I used to go in the Newmarket, Lord Nelly, footballer, weavers, windmill, farmers, etc. Some closed now. I'll have a Google at those new ones Steve, cheers pal🍺👍
Yes I've got part time at the IOM post office Jon, I see the future posties coming in with less conditions than us and its not right. Anyway Lancaster an excellent city for a slurp Jon, cheers Pal👍🍺
They stopped making dimple glasses for a while because they could make 5 straight pint glasses for the same price. But they're back now, thanks for tuning in👍🍺
OP still a gold standard cask ale, like Landlord. They've had competition over the years but not many last. Seen em come, seen em go, still Theakstons & Taylor's carry on unchanged. Because they make beer for people who like beer; farmers, manual workers, tradesmen; people who finish work cold & knackered with their back sore or their rheumatism playing up, people who NEED a good beer in a warm pub to set em right. So as long as them people exist, Theakstons & Taylor's will exist.
I'm a Yorkshireman so of course I support my local brewers. But if I was from Lincolnshire I'd feel the same about Batemans, or if I was from Oxfordshire about Hook Norton, or from Durham about Maxim... We got so, SO much to be proud of in the UK, our beer stands up to anything else, anywhere, & has done for centuries. You can't reinvent the wheel so ignore the hype about foreign "innovations" lol.
@@papalegba6796 originally from the Manchester area I'm passionate about Joseph Holt, Hydes, Robinsons n JW Lees. Nearly 700 years of brewing history between them. 4 of the 5 regional breweries in Manchester, Boddies sold out to the big boys and it all ended badly, cheers Papa

Yup, support your local breweries, if you don't they'll disappear & you'll regret it.
