Knowing this is the final season kinda made the 60 skeletons' appearance really emotional for me, since it was potentially the last time we're ever gonna see those rascals.

I already thought Unrepentant Villain Liliana was a fantastic character, but I think I might love Reluctant Ally Liliana even more ("Yes I know Dob has a crush on me, what I want to know it, why don't the rest of you??")
Also I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Merilwen deploying so many spells and traps, it's so fun when a well prepared player gets to play with their toys (And Speak With Animals pays dividends once again, always a delight)
Dob should added an addendum to bequeathing it, saying it goes to Prudence if he dies, but ONLY if she isn't the reason he died.

Mike FINALLY having Egbert use any Paladin skills, spells or abilities at this late hour is the MOST Mike/Egbert thing ever. It's almost like Egbert realizes he'll never have another chance to show what he could do...

I'm pretty sure its because he played BG3, so he now understands some basic concepts of the game. (also I'm convinced it drives Johnny crazy)
So, eventually Pru is going to inherit a hammer containing 60 reanimated skeletons, a flaming skull, a skeleton of a donkey, and a *dracolich*.
While Dob marches his lifeless cadaver to the top of a mountain.
@@Stephen-Fox I like to think that once a year, the remaining Oxventurers are going to head up there too just to visit him and reunite with each other. Prudence, of course, will be riding on the back of the dracolich.

Been binging the Idle Champions Black Rose vods so I could find out how Merilwen and Simon were reunited. And, just, wow. That whole thing is all. kinds. of. awesome. 💜 YT algorithm let me down not showing that to me!
I heard about it when it first started, but didn't take a whole lot of notice due to not knowing any of the others involved. If I'd realised they were playing Merilwen and Rust, I would have watched it all sooner.

I really wish more people watched Fury of the Black Rose. Merilwen and Rust are just such sweethearts, and the role-playing is amazing, plus there's Simon! I absolutely devoured it when it was coming out, and I loved the Idle Insights with all the players as well!

Egbert being a paladin has been the most fun part of the season so far.

I'm happy Eggbert remembered that as a Paladin he has spells and I'm surprised he realized he can attack twice. Too bad that the dice only agree when he's doing shenanigans 😥

It seems Liliana got quite a heavy case of "when the boss enemy joins your party" sickness.
I would say:"A good DM would be prepares for their players." But lets be honest Johnny keeping up with The Oxventure's guild is a feat that borders on the SUPERHUMAN. I love every episode I've seen and Johnny deserves an award (all the awards) for running another campaing with this "group of chaos incarnate." Johnny is the true hero here.
Assuming they have leap year, the creature has tried escaping 365250 times. That’s commitment !

Prudence quite often took serious damage in the early adventures - getting disemboweled in the Fishmas Carol episode, I think it was? She then put some level up points into constitution, which has really paid off - I was surprised to see she has more HP than Merilwen, making her pretty beefy for a warlock, tbh
Just want to mention I appreciate these eps being about 1.5 hours. As a casual D&D fan I am able to remain interested for the length of these episodes. Too many youtube D&D campaigns want to do 3.5 hours episodes. Long live the secret heroes of this episode! The cave bats!
If only there was a way to pause a video and watch it in intervals that suit your attention span… imagine some magical technology like that.

I am loving this season so much. Really digging the old faces and past locations,feels like a great nod to the whole era. Can’t wait to see more

Came for DnD got a bonus lovers feud that i am now currently definitely in for. Side stories and role play make this the best DnD campaign to watch. 😎

I've long been a follower of outsidexbox but had little to no understanding of D&D. I kept getting shown oxventure videos as a suggested watch and ignoring them. One day I finally broke down and checked out the spicy rat caper. Here I am, every episode later. I'm so glad I took the time because I would have missed out on these wonderful, hilarious characters and I would never have come across Johnny. Johnny is amazing and I feel like my days would be slightly less without them to brighten them! Thank you all.
I too got into their TTRPG stuff a bit late, just before the pandemic. It's such a joy and has opened up so many new interests!
The energy this season is nuts so far, I love seeing everyone having so much fun 😂

I watched the show on Idle Champions to find out how Merilwyn got Simon back and they take the dialogue and narrative so seriously there. Then over here, Merilwyn says mortal lives are beautiful because they're short and Dob loudly groans. So refreshing to be watching these guys again!

My favourite part of the dragon's big attack might be the fact that Dob and Liliana were the only 2 characters there who wouldn't have been instantly reduced to 0hp by taking 80 damage
This being the last season with the og gang, I can't help but feel that this is the actual peak when it comes to presentation and production in the form that it is right now.
I'm sure you have plans for the future but, damn if I'm not gonna miss this when it is over.
It's been a ride and I am sad to see it go.

I should have seen it coming that it would be Dob who would have the idea of creating a slurry pit in the cavern. Of course only Dob would think of that.
Oh man, I knew the bats rolling a nat 20 would derail things even harder than they were already with all the guano talk.
I absolutely love the music in this one, especially the fight with the dracolich.
The face I made at Dob's 80 lightning damage given his 83 hit points. I'm glad he already knows about his orcish constitution and would be back on 1 hit point if he dropped to 0. I've never been so scared about one of them dying as I was here.
I was not expecting the skeletons and was really not expecting the steam engine.
There were some odd cuts in this where I feel like some stuff was cut, so we don't know what happens. Like when Dob and Liliana had to make dex saving throws against the dracolich, but it seemed out of nowhere and I didn't quite understand the question directed at Merilwyn. I eventually got it, but it still seemed odd since I didn't get that it was the dracolich's turn. We also didn't hear all the initiative orders (I don't think I heard Corazon's).
That was terrific and plucked me out of a deep depression, thank you.

As Egbert was getting ready to use the mace I'm remembering the time the mace turned Dob into Strahd and wondering if the currently weakened dracolich will be transformed into another powerful, fully healed, boss. Or worse, some innocent person/creature that would have to die for the curse to be broken 😥
Johnny: The dracolich is now a little girl.
Corozon: Is the curse lifted?
Johnny: You can't tell
Dob: I run outside, grab one of the dwarves, and toss him down the tunnel
Johnny: the dwarf is back where he started
Dob: I rejoin the party, bad news, the curse hasn't been lifted
Prudence: I'm not going to do it
Liliana: Fine...

Merilwen saying she wouldnt date her coz Lilliana isnt her type, and giving the reason of because you aren't into trees, was just pure gold. I couldn't help laughing me coz I was definitely expecting "coz im not into ladies" ❤

Also ngl over all these years I'm pretty sure everyone has shown some form of lgbtness at one point or another and I've seen alot of discussion and theories about some of the characters being lgbt and I love it ❤

Not to get too much into it but I think we've had moments where Dob, Corazon and Egbert have all messed around with people of various identities (Merilwen's childhood friend, Chet and Will from the cult and of course Katie Pearlhead off the top of my head). Prudence seems not particularly interested in romance (with the possible exception of the necromantic hunter Vex) but open to the idea of an evil union with Evil Dob, Scully from the prison and potentially Lilianna. Merilwen had her cuddle time with the pirate who I think was called Dewey or something similar although they agreed to remain as just friends. Honestly the group just seems pretty accepting of everyone in their own way. (Worth noting that Merilwen is a full elf who has just passed 100 so she's effectively a 21 year old human in terms of experience.)
"Sect Appeal" is truly such a great episode
Sect Appeal boldly declared that love triangles know no gender and they were so right for that ^_^ Like I noticed that Johnny had been including queer NPCs (like Max, my beloved!) and that had made me feel safe and welcome, but seeing everyone else also just unabashedly embrace some fun romantic drama that happened to include same-gender, that made me feel at home. Just like Merilwen's "type" being defined by whether they like trees rather than gender. It seems like a small thing but it stands out to the people it resonates with.
Corazon also _might_ have had a crush on Jaque Darkfall.
I see people joke about the Oxventure Polycule and I do enjoy that idea. Plus I think Dine Harder(? whatever the name of the episode where they all went on Dob's honeymoon was) kind of leaned into that concept. I think most if not all of the OX folks themselves are straight (though I don't think they've ever said anything definitively themselves, nor should they feel pressured to-we _are_ all just strangers on the Internet, after all), but as a bi man, I do appreciate that they're willing to let their tabletop characters have their own sexualities.
Got to be honest, Mike After Reading Rules is terryfing... i can't imagine how effective he would have been if he read them DAY 1❤❤❤.

I love how you could potentially piece together Liliana's stats from the pieces we see of her abilities. For example, she can take 80 damage... Kind of.

Oh gods given where they're going next... (spoilers if you haven't watched this ep yet)
The team winding up Shattershield is my absolute favourite thing and I am wondering if he and Liliana are going to form some kind of "has had to put up with Oxventurers for any length of time" support group. Binbag can join too. They can meet at the only bar in Geth not yet wrecked (under oath to never, ever, tell any of the guild where it is) and start sessions with phrases like "You will NOT believe this nonsense!" to which the others would just sigh and say "oh yes, we will... go on".
Merilwen should have taken the monster under her druidic tutelage so it could champion the environment in a court of law as Erin Dracolich.
She was about to have a cool moment, then like always Luke or Andy stepped in and had to be the centre of attention.
Loved this episode, keep up the amazing work!

Dob nearly met his heroic end in a cave neck deep in bat poo Yay!!!
I was expecting things to go very wrong with the bat poop (guano). Guano is used for explosives and bullets. As an American, in high school, we shot a cannon off every time our football team scored. We used gun powder with guano in it and we only needed a tiny amount.
I was expecting the fireball to guano to require a saving throw from everyone. I thought the whole cave was going to blow up lol

We know that Dob is half-orc, but what actually is the other half? (I know it's generally implied they're half-human but with Luke, I imagine it could be anything!)
I think he has said half-human before but we only ever met the also half-orc sister.
It's just a different kind of orc. He's self conscious about that side of the family.

@@masondeross nah i think dob has broken mentally. Ever since the orphans he has be unually ok with murder. Look what he did to get the fragment. Murdered unconcious thieves in cold blood and fed them to a fish. Hes become unhinged, and in his insanity he found a love who accepted him for him. He even dedicated a song to her at his wedding and proved he doesnt just fancy her, he is in love with her. Or the doubt demon would have killed him. And what are the chances liliana wasnt watching that day? I think they got together which is why she stopped coming after them so much and why dob kept everyone distracted with katie after vocatus. It was all a clever ruse so she had time to build her army.
I think this might be a BG3 situation, Dark Dob may have survived after all.
