Malaysia has a lot to catch up on charging infra before promoting EV to the mass. You will need to have "cheap" charger at home to charge overnight.
I drive a Tesla Model Y in Australia, and I can't go back to ICE car now. Plenty of fast and free DC chargers around, only took about 1hour to top up from less than 20%
I smile everytime I pass by a petrol station, fuel savings around $300 every month as I drive around 400km ish a week.
Game changer in my books.
As long as Malaysian petrol continues to be subsidised and is not taxed then eV cars will not make sense
Try 500KM during the festive season on PLUS highway KL to Penang is more interesting
Bobby insisted on belanja Thomas coffee , that 2nd belanja tone seemed like Thomas always snatch the bill 🤣
Makes me so excited to take delivery on my 2023 P8 next week. This car is a day tripper/city/around towner, not a long hauler at heart. Long trips are easy to master though with planning and the in car google maps with charging stops added automatically to trips as needed. Who wants to drive more than 450-500 miles in a day anyway? No more gas bills. Sweet smooth ride. Porsche acceleration. Hoo ah!!!!
Whats yr cost per charge? Just wondering
how much does it cost to charge
malaysia still need more EV stations before it can go mainstream
Entertaining as such but could you share average speed and time driving
How much is this car Bobby ?
So cumbersome to find a charger! Even the Shell station charger not working 😅
Shell station charger is working fine ah ... Not cumbersome to find charger just that my initial thoughts of curi curi charging in Porsche didnt work out
great video, I won't get a EV for sure in Malaysia
go JB need to keep charging
This video will extend my love for an ICE car, hang out at a petrol pump for 45 minutes to 1 hour? Nope for me
Actually it made me wanna check where we can get DC fast chargers here in Thailand. Something definitely need to be observed if I am ever going to consider an EV.
There is plenty of charger on thailand looking PEA charging station. This teslabjorn from norway (origin from thailand) did promote alot of ev user
Tesla offically launch in Thai if u might wanna know
@@kahyik I don’t live in Bangkok and after I did some quick research, a BEV just don’t cut it for me at the moment. I did recently started to use a PHEV and although it battery has enough power for my daily drives, I still need to tap into the the ICE when I make my weekly trip to Bangkok.
@@iwan5a Yes, I saw the hype of the launch. Still way too many unknowns. If I am go actually go full BEV at the moment, Tesla is not on my shopping list.
@@willwu1688 i truly believe if Tesla willing to open market there, means they believe the infra will be setup eventually soon. We just may want to see ahead on progress
after watching this video... i confirmed not planning EV in 5yrs time.
make it another 2 decades. Until replacement for upgrades the likes of increased power output are made available. just like turbo
My conclusion is that EV is never for single car household.
Hydrogen will eventually replace batteries in cars.
@@BobbyAngmalaysia and must able to charge at home
And charging time also have to be fast
Thanks Bobby for sharing your EV 780km journey. Mind sharing how much you paid in total for the "charging/electricity"?
In total, it costs the same as going to JB and back to KL by pumping only V Power Racing. So if you count 40 litres x RM5.70 for one journey .... Multiply by two is about there hahaha
@@BobbyAngmalaysia if I didn't fail my maths, this XC40 EV cost much more than a petrol car using RON 95 for the same journey/distance 😰. Serious ah? I thought EV is supposed to save 💰....besides the environment
@@lokekaryew8408 because the charging calculate by minutes. Not by kwh charge.
@@iwan5a Then, it's not worthwhile to own EV as it supposed to save 💰.....vs petrol engine
@@lokekaryew8408 im referring to shell fast charge station in this video. Of course, there are a few other option such as gentari and others which offered charge by kW which much more price competitive ie cheaper.
Regarding save petrol cost, with Malaysia tariff and current market price for EV, we cannot compare.
And of course, owning petrol vehicle will much more cheaper because our fuel RON95 is heavily subsidized. If float market, it will be different story again.
Owning EV is for short distance driving. Not for long distance due to rate pricing for fast charging. And should take advantage of home charging rather than station charging. Its two different pricing comparison.
Lol at the “pergi Cosplay” joke
question is Bobby spent how much on charging?
Close to that of pumping V Power Racing for such a journey
is RM4.00 per min at Shell Recharge should go kluang petronas gentari station is cheaper
totally possible and totally do-able but I would still go with a ICE vehicle. Would be so much more relaxing drive. haha
I will opt for hybrid anytime rather than EV after seeing this. 🤣
Actually commercial EV should be started first by electric buses and lorries. Electric buses and lorries can save a lot of money from diesel budget also diesel subsidies no longer wasteful when buses and lorries went EV.
If u wanna know, electric bus is already around especially putrajaya and nearby. U can see infrastructure for bus charging station at putrajaya.
i think they are now being replaced with BYD EV buses
Why make life so difficults....
Why live life the easy way?
too much time needed to juice up an EV compared to ICE.
Time is $$$
hahah road tax mati
