I'm 63 years old, my small house is paid off and I'm so appreciative for everything. Electricity and food is expensive but I'm so blessed to have a roof over my head.
so sad to heard that, and can't believe that happened in USA, I thought GOV will give some compensation to those kind of people, bulit a some house for them?
@@binzhao3552government has been weakened and weakened in the USA for the last 50 years. The only lever left is a lot of spending to help steer the economy (green revolution) or constant tax cuts for wealthy/business (conservative choices).
@@binzhao3552 Depending on the government is the problem. The government has proven for many decades they will not make a budget that gets the country out of its deficit. It's not their priority to take care of ppl. It crazy we have a rich country full of opportunities yet we still have poverty. We have to make better choices as individuals to stay out of poverty and do better for society.
@binzhao3552 Gov is too busy sending billions to Ukraine and Israel, and spending millions upon millions of dollars putting illegal aliens up in posh hotel rooms and also giving them thousands of dollars worth of Visa cards, and now evidently, the right to bear arms. Let’s not forget all the money that goes to those wonderfully intelligent people who just don’t feel like working, and pop out 14 babies from 12 different deadbeat fathers.
At the very beginning of Covid both my wife and I lost our jobs after working at the same place for 23 years. No severance pay ... company declared bankruptcy and that was that. Within a month I was diagnosed with kidney cancer and needed surgery and treatment. No more work benefits so all our years of savings went into my treatment and paying our mortgage. 3 years later I sold our house and moved 1200 miles away and bought a small 2 bedroom bungalow. If wasn't for our savings and that our mortgage was paid off in 2021 we would be in the same situation. It is terrifying when you almost lose everything you worked so hard for.
Just curious why you didn’t get cobra or insurance on the private market? If I were in your situatuation I’d like to think I’d have bit the bullet and paid up despite the high cost. I was brought up to never go without insurance so maybe I was privileged that way.
@@robnelson6545after losing our work benefits I looked into private health insurance but already having a cancer diagnosis most refused to accept me, or the premiums were outrageous and were even higher depending on what type of cancer, what treatment, what stage it was at and the median survival rate. Mine was aggressive and I opted for a medication that was experimental but had a really high success rate so I guess that falls on me. The only thing I paid out of pocket was the medication. I am just happy to be healthy and still have my family under one roof ✌
Thanks for giving your perspective. I hope you're all doing better now. Vivid ruined things for so many people Just wanted to add an international perspective. Here in Germany even if you don't have a job you easily have the chance to have a health insurance. It's about 200 Euros. There is no way that you lose your money because you got sick here. I want that for Americans too because it's absolutely doable. Particularly for such a hardworking country.
Most Americans find it hard to retire comfortably amid economy downtrend. Some have close to nothing going into retirement, my question is, will you pay off mortgage as a near-retiree, or spread money for cashflow, to afford lifestyle after retirement?
Agreed, the role of advisors can only be overlooked, but not denied. I remember in early 2020, during covid-outbreak, my portfolio worth around 300k took a slight fall, apparently due to the pandemic crash, at once I consulted an advisor in order to avoid panic-selling. As of today, my account has yielded big fat yields, and leverages on 7-figure, only cos I delegate my excesses right.
this is huge! mind if I look up the advisr that guides you please? only invest in my 401k through my employer for now, but enthused about diversifying my investments for a prosperous financial future

The wealthiest country on the planet......in which you can work three jobs and still not being able to rent a two rooms apartment in a run down neighbourhood.
They want us working multiple jobs... all family members... and for the same reason they pushed women into the work place... so they can steal more money thro the years bc of greed. They take so much now ... its very hard to better your life... present and your future self.
It’s the wealthiest country in the history of mankind. But only for corporations and the 1%. The rest of us exist as virtual slaves in a spiraling capitalist hellscape
I wasn’t expecting people living in cars in the USA, it is a first world country, those poor people, the mother with those two little girls is a saint, I couldn’t imagine being in her shoes when my sons were the same ages! I was going thru a divorce, lost my job at a startup during a recession and had a hard time finding a job. I was months away from living in my pickup. I was scared and so lucky I didn't have kids to worry about. I found a job at a startup and that lasted almost a year , found a contract gig, and then found a good job and worked myself back to were I was in a few years. Started saving after that experience. That young man, I was going to say little boy but he is no longer a child. But hearing him say I try to take it all on me so my mom and sisters don't have to deal with things. That was heart breaking. Also when he said seeing them all play together fills me up. WOW!!! What an awesome big brother and son. His parents should be very proud of him
That’s insane and shame on the parents. I understand their massively stressful situation but you still do your best to shoulder it all. It’s not a child’s reaponsibility. Period. I hope his parents talked to him about that so he didn’t grow up broken and turned to addiction. Children can’t handle these things they need an outlet.
I spent 22 years in USA. I learned first hand hiw easy it is to go from "normal" life to homeless. I kept pushing it and thank God I could turn my life around. Very, very hard. As a person born, raised and living in eastern Europe I'm shocked to see this. USA use to be the place we were all looking up to when we ware children. And now I'm thinking "Oh those poor souls". Something went very, very wrong, very fast!

Things are worse now and getting even worse.. working for a mortgage bank I talk to tons of people every day who are behind in payments, in foreclosure, applying for loan modifications to keep their homes, etc... Sometimes I tell them a secret - if and when possible buy a small piece of land off grid in a country where tiny houses are allowed because it's getting worse... And the second secret, grow your own food.... But I think if my employer heard too much of that I'd get in trouble and be advised not to say such things..
Im living in another country. We as family did that after c19, but the struggle to reach to city services would be too much for us since we are not getting any younger, and i also worried about the safety. So we put in on sale now. What i want to tell is, that doesnt always work either.
@@SiberiaDreams not sure who your reply is for however if it's directed at me you are grossly incorrect and clearly have no clue about off grid life, housing, how many options there are on how to get things done.... Yes if you buy a tiny house upfront that can be expensive. Having said that it's common to start in an old RV, travel trailer, van life van or bus. After that you can learn to build your own tiny house or save money for help in building it or save money to buy one new or used. You can also opt to purchase a tiny house workable shed , these come in many sizes, shapes, price ranges and you can over time build it out into a tiny house. You can build a dustcrete house, an earthship house, a sandbag house, a straw bale house, or a wood house. The options are many... You can again do it over time. When you've completed the set up and building you will own it free and clear, no rent, no mortgage, etc and only have to concern yourself with the property taxes. If you buy the property wisely the property taxes will be low .... Etc.. So no it's not insanely expensive to go off grid though of course it can be if you just run to a tiny house manufacturer and buy a luxury model tiny home first thing... Needless to say even if you do that, as long as you can pay it off quickly, you will never throw money down the toilet again forever paying mortgage or rent - every month for average 30 years on mortgage regardless of whether your income stops or not. If income reduces or stops you can't pay that mortgage and you lose that house.. With rent it's endless, the landlord can raise the rent, and if income reduces you get evicted . So pick an option.....
@@SiberiaDreams btw as an addition: I live my advice. I have my property paid off free and clear. I have my property taxes paid years into the future. I have a class c RV and travel trailer on site both can be lived in. I built two tiny homes on site. I built a four room barn . I have two more tiny homes that should be completed by the end of this coming summer. The property is fully fenced. I have three garden areas and small livestock. If I lost my job tomorrow I could easily live on the property in decent comfort, eat free, run phone and computer via solar set up I got done last summer. Leisurely apply for a new job ... The only thing that would not be leisurely about it would be the payments on some other parcels I'm working on getting paid off -- like the problem with either rent or mortgage that monthly payment is the killer except with traditional mortgage it let's 30 years on average and with rent it'll NEVER ever end.... I was able to even fight for my minor children for years against a millionaire sociopath because I live off grid like this.. Something I couldn't have done on my income at all if I paid rent or mortgage... So please tell me how on earth teaching others how to do it is stupid and setting them up for a life they cannot afford. It's absolutely not .. People who can't afford mortgage or rent go homeless or throw all their money away on motel rooms. I can pick what spot, home, I want to sleep in any night of the week and I have no payments. It's all paid off except the additional properties I'm paying on for my kids..... In case you're concluding I must be rich, nope. I earn $20 an hour... I did all this between earning $20 an hour for the first year, then a job that paid $13 an hour for two years, and unemployed due to the covid pandemic shutdown.. And also had two jobs , not at the same time, right after the covid shutdown, temporary jobs, that paid only $11 an hour (one job was circle k clerk for a few months and the other was ups warehouse for a few months because other jobs weren't available after the lockdowns,)... That's how rich I was and am to get this done... Also I had no savings, no inheritance, etc . I got zero dollars from the millionaire ex , instead I got to pay $300 an hour for lawyers to fight for my kids. I get no spousal support and no child support income.. Clearly what I did anyone can do.. I also have three heart conditions, autoimmune disease and I didn't know how to build anything when I started...... So again anyone can do it...... I started by paying the property off free and clear fast by making as many extra payments as I could. Knocked that out in about a year. The minimum property payment was like $140 a month. I paid more each month. Then I bought an old motor home for $450. I put the motor home on the property and like instant magic I had a reasonably safe, extremely cozy little house to live in off grid.. Next I did the barn. I worked on the fence, and ended up buying a fifth wheel travel trailer for another living unit...I finished the fence and built the first tiny house by the second summer on the property and I just kept going from there.....
@@SiberiaDreams these motel dwellers are in many cases going to end up on the street or living in cars and going down hill from there. My advice is a really good alternative that I live myself. Some info on that and how it's smart is in my two longer comments....

exactly the pandemic only hurt people more by shutting businesses and people losing everything and nothing to do with the actual health part which was just a test by the government to see what they can get away with. The problems are so complex that just throwing money at it will not solve it. For example-lack of family planning, drug abuse, mental health issues, lack of financial education, lack of affordable housing options, inability to control people due to the first amendments rights and freedoms (if I want 10 kids I will have them), destruction of the nuclear family and what is defined as a family, feminism and liberalism, no political will to change entrenched systems of social welfare and on and on...feel free to add some more.
@gold707786 what does feminism and liberalism have to do with anything? There are just as many conservative, white males that are homeless and the conditions that lead to homelessness don't discriminate. The problems in America are not caused by the actions of one political party or the other, but rather the inaction of both parties to put the needs of Americans before their own financial greed.
As a new mom- it is heartbreaking to watch children grow up like this. No child should have to worry about such things. I just want to wrap each of these kids in a safe and secure hug and give them everything they ever needed.

The main reason why homeless has become an issue is because of the lack of control on illegal immigration and the class system. With the right-to-buy and housing seen as an investment and not a home that completely dismantled the UK. But it won't change because its all about 'not in my back yard'. Nobody cares that's the truth.
I live in Ga, one of the cheaper states in the US and rents have almost quadrupled in the past few years. The base rent is $1500-$2000 a month now, even in notoriously cheap trailer parks, rent starts at $1000 now. And it just keeps going up. And there is no government help for the vast majority of us. It's unsustainable, half of us will be homeless before too much longer
Maybe check out a protocol by Steven Buhner . He has protocols to help treat neurological symptoms from Lyme disease and Lyme disease color infections. We have European strains of Lyme disease here in the states. I took 40 pills a day of herbs and vitamins and I'm finally getting better! My shin bones don't feel like they're shattering etc.
That boy who was talking about being the oldest brother. I see myself 25 years ago and it breaks my heart. He is truly built different and I hope their lives improve soon before it takes too much of a toll on such a young person. You can see it in his face how tough it is but he’s holding on for the best of his family. If he makes it out he is truly destined for great things.
That 13 year old boy is so brave and compassionate has so much empathy for his parents, thats what is empathy. He is a truly lovely young man. God blessed his parents with him. He is a darling young man. He should consider going into social work. He is born for that . God bless them all all the parents and children ,who are living this lifestyle

Seen a lot of African Americans with videos & they are moving to Ghana to buy land & live, ran into a friend he was in college here while I was in High School, taught me how to play soccer, he is working at the CVS, Ansu, that was 40 years ago we are now getting old & grey. Ghana is sounding pretty good, I'm sure he misses home, while some of us wish it was ours.
In America people have no sense of community because almost everyone moves away from their family and friends for work. The trade is community for money, but as the cost of living rises above wages is it still worth it? If at the end of the day you're just trying to keep your head above water then you might as well go back to your hometown where your family is.
This is absolutely disgusting that our government has allowed this to happen. I would be one of them if it weren't for my daughter letting me live with her and her family. It isn't so much the jobs, it is the cost of living, ie housing, food, gas, utilities. No one can afford a house today and next will be a decent vehicle. Apartments have delusions of grander thinking that they are justified charging mortgage rates for an apartment, no garage, no yard, live on top of each other and pay 1800 for a shitty 1 bdrm. I remember in the 1990's you could buy a brand new home for under 100K in Phx, AZ, 2 bedroom apartments were 550 or less, food and utilities were affordable. It is so sad that young couples making 70K a year cannot buy a home, what happened to starter homes, to the American dream.... it is long gone and nobody seems to care.

Gee wow what surprise.

America has always been about exploitation. Now it’s the middle class/ whites who are being exploited. Companies and cities benefit from millions of illegals aliens who work for low $ wages while their public benefits+ free education for their kids are paid by middle class white taxpayers.
@EthanLeviathan-lf2ik. Yes you have those children that suffer turn to voting age and get to choose how they want the country to be governed. Remember a government only exists when its citizens consent to it.
@EthanLeviathan-lf2ik unfortunately I have to agree with you on this point but if we understand human history nothing lasts forever even ancient empires like Egypt or the Roman Empire didn’t last forever. The same could be said about the US but this difference now compared to centuries past. Is gun ownership and the millions who own them with ex-military personal too. You could even have active military personnel turn against leadership especially if they change the laws and have the military to act and kill its own citizens claiming it’s to save the country. That’s when the spiraling down fall will happen. Roman “Rome will exist as long as the Coliseum does; when the Coliseum falls, so will Rome; when Rome falls, so will the world”

Sad to see this. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and the middle class gets systematically eradicated. Neither the rich nor the poor will/can pay taxes. A perfect storm brewing…
Once the parasites bleed the economy dry they'll just take advantage of the poverty or move on to green ventures in another country to continue their cycle.
@@mcmans.Yep in Israel you get free college and healthcare for EVERY SINGLE CITIZEN, while the ones paying for it, working Americans, are literally starving to death.
It’s gettin scary. I’m 29. My mom keeps asking when she’s gonna get grandkids. I’m scared to bring a child into this world, with this money. Or lack thereof. I work 52 hours a week, I’m makin $25 an hour and I live check to check. This is the most I’ve ever made hourly. I drive 25 miles each way everyday to work. My arms are numb from my elbows to my fingers after work and in the morning. It’s only getting worse, and I gotta long way to go. I’ve been engaged for 3 years, we gave up on the idea of a wedding and decided to just go to the courthouse, I wish I could afford a wedding for my fiancé. A honeymoon. I want a family! But I’m not tryna let my kids live less of a life than I did. All my friends who went to college are in a ton of debt, like over 20 grand. At least I don’t owe anybody that much. I’d say less than half of those people work in jobs where their degree is actually applicable. Seems like the people who created this problem, are gonna die before they see what it really is. I’d love to give my mom a grandbaby, it sucks that money is dictating that right now.
You’re not alone. I’m 37 and I’m making $38 an hour and I live check to check. I break even. I have two Master’s degrees, one of which is an MBA. Good-paying jobs are scarce. Rent is $1,850 for a one bedroom in the suburbs. My 10 year old car died and I had to buy a new one. Thanks to high interest rates that payment takes half my check, rent takes the entirety of the other. How do I pay for other basic necessities after electric, internet, and car insurance?
yes, heartbreaking to watch this as well and though it is a reminder to be grateful for what I have, the reality is that even with a good job, if something happens, I could just as easily be in the streets. I was homeless at 17 years old and I never want to go back to that again. Its already bad enough, I struggle with mental health as well, was born into poverty, and just never had much of a chance despite this delusion of the american dream. I have to work every single day, suck it up, and ignore my health issues, tough it out, and live from one day to the next knowing it could all be taken away in a heartbeat. Blessings for these families. I wonder how they are doing.
I was laid off a week before Thanksgiving last year. Luckily my intuition told me layoffs might be coming so I got my finances in order. Thankfully I also got a severance package so I’m ok for now and have 2 possible job offers in the works 🤞🏾 . Keep your head up, plan for the worst, but hope for the best.

In March 2024, an Atlanta news station did an investigation into who was buying up all the houses in the area. They found 3 companies own 19,000 homes. None of the houses are for sale, all are for rent only. There is no law in Georgia that prevents this from happening. Home rental prices in the Atlanta area are going up. The American dream of owning a home is over. Corporations in California and New York are doing the same thing. The rich are getting richer and creating more low income people.
The problem isn’t corporations and poor people always blame them, the last 3 years 7 million illegals have been let into the country and where do you think they sleep? High demand for renting increases the price of rent.
BR is buying homes up because the we the tax payer will pay around 150 a night per illegal, two per room in a three bedroom house is around 900 a day.. approx 27000 a month.

I am 29 years old. I'm from a Russian village, work as an auto parts salesman. Before watching this video, I considered myself poor and unhappy, it seemed that Americans were all rich, driving new pickups and walking with new iPhones. How grateful I am now that I have a private house, a Volkswagen golf 4 and the opportunity to go on vacation at sea. And I would really like us to have the USSR again, where families were given apartments, cars for free, education for children is free, and the realization that no one will leave you without a job.

A portion of Americans are like that, but the majority of us have it much much worse than you. But our overlords talk about how evil Russia is and how bad all the workers over there have it compared to us...who are blamed for not being able to eat even though we're working 3 jobs. Corporations and Financial giants own this country now
There was a period of time, like a whole year, where I debated just living out of my car to save as much money as I can. I work multiple jobs and live in a two bedroom apartment for $700/month. I live in a relatively "cheap" state and have no kids. I count myself fortunate.
I wrote an article called the broken American dream in high school 23 years ago. I re-read it a year ago and it hits all the same issues/problems we see today. Rich getting richer, limited health care for non-rich, consumerism etc. The only difference is I am now fairly wealthy, but the problems in the USA remain and all people want to focus on is social issues and nobody is willing to make any major changes in our system.
DON'T STOP THE FILM THERE!!! how did everything turn out? i really hope things got better for those folk - they all seemed so nice, it's horrible that they're having these struggles.

@@robnelson6545after losing our work benefits I looked into private health insurance but already having a cancer diagnosis most refused to accept me, or the premiums were outrageous and were even higher depending on what type of cancer, what treatment, what stage it was at and the median survival rate. as most investing-related questions, the answer is, it depends.. my best suggestion is to consider advisory management
Agreed, the role of advisors can only be overlooked, but not denied. Wow. That sweet little boy at 18 minutes taking responsibility for his families stress. My heart ❤️ I hope these families are better today. Wishing them all the best!
Tiny Houses are obscenely expensive. You are giving stupid advice.

My heart really goes out to everyone who is struggling regardless of the reasons. Everyone deserves to have a home to call their own.
The main reason why homeless has become an issue is because of the lack of control on illegal immigration and the class system. The reality in America makes me feel my country Ghana is Paradise!
The soul in North America is dim. Please cherish your home in Ghana 🇬🇭
My life in the US is amazing have my own business and I'm not rich but it's a wonderful place to live
@@a.garcia8086I don't feel the same. Americkkk not it....2024
In America people have no sense of community because almost everyone moves away from their family and friends for work. The trade is community for money, but as the cost of living rises above wages is it still worth it? If at the end of the day you're just trying to keep your head above water then you might as well go back to your hometown where your family is.
Incase anyone was wondering, Daniel was let out of jail.. Manslaughter charge dismissed by judge.
Glad to hear that! It would be also interesting to know how his family is doing now.
Corporatism in bed with gov't they are all in favor for the corporations(Owners vs Economic slaves). Housing is how they have us by the balls more than anything and blackrock and airbnb on top of reduced building after 08 has caused a lot of problems. It is as always the greed money really is the root of all evil its a pyramid we need to stop propping up the top so much folks i understand we need janitors but they deserve a place to live and a life to live.

Stop making homelessness a business! Shame on the politicians who live in empty mansions and keep the laws in place which allow this kind of societal abuse.
These children suffer the most.
