Gorgeous song. I love the verse, chorus, post-chorus, verse, chorus, post-chorus, post-chorus construction. Very invitational in the manner of following year's Eurovision song Knock, Knock Who's There? from Mary Hopkin and non-Eurovision song Don't Sleep in the Subway from Petula Clark from 1967.

Cynically panned by many DJs and music critics this gem from 1969 is always raised when the Eurovision song contest is discussed on TV and Radio. I recall it being played at fringe events at last years contest in Liverpool, some 54 years after it was in the charts, what musical legacy came out of Eurovision in the last few decades that gets any airplay nowadays ? Lulu really was a top performer.

This is the first time I've heard this song in English. My folks had an anthology record featuring German versions and German songs. The late Heidi Bruhl did the German version of Boom A Bang Bang. Good job, Lulu.😊

Back in the days when songs had innocent lyrics and well constructed melodies and harmonies. If a song was called Boom Bang A Bang these days it would be some tuneless monologue about a drive by shooting by a blinged up rapper.

Lulu should have been knighted for all her services for all the tracks she sang throughout the years. To win The Eurovision Song Contest way back in 1969 for The United Kingdom with The Track Boom Banger Bang .The Man With The Golden Gun from the theme of the Bond Film .Her discography is never ending .Lulu is profoundly underated .
And the theme for To Sir With Love. And she was one of two (with Cliff Richard) to perform on Top of the Pops in each of the five decades that the show was on. Anyhow she was given the Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) award, which is only one below a full Dame.

Such a cutesy song whereby the lady is being very invitational and seductive and is tenderly enticing the man into a relationship, with no crudities, just tenderness, rather like Mary Hopkin's Knock Knock Who's There and Petula Clark's Don't Sleep in The Subway.
