      +Schroeder_2000 He is, especially with children. He just has no patience for adult chefs who are supposed to be professional and mess up while on the clock working around him

      Yea really the only reason they thought Julia won was because Gordon made a lot of fat jokes lol.

      ***** Or it was just really easy to pick up on. Every time he made a fat joke they were frowning it's called observation. Yet you call me stupid.

    I WOULD give this one to Julia Child if her lines about Gordon Ramsey's personality were actually accurate. He's really a nice guy, he just doesn't tolerate people who claim to be professionals despite their mistakes and are unwilling to learn. He's more than willing to teach people who want to learn and become better chefs, and he's incredible with children.

    • @94DARKOS
      @94DARKOS 8 років тому +46

      +David Guthary Also, a battle on who's the best chef and you attack his personality? That must means you can't find a single flaw on his cooking carreer. Than means he wins by default.

    • @94DARKOS
      @94DARKOS 8 років тому +11

      ***** You answered yourself by stating that their only connection is them being chefs.
      Like, why should I care/root for Ramsay if he offends Julia on being a woman?
      It's like the bits of Tolkien/Martin when they talked about clothes and body fat.
      Weak. You attack that and not his carreer which you also compete in? Weak.

    • @sportsfan723
      @sportsfan723 8 років тому +26

      +Darkos Overlord It's called an epic RAP battle...not epic chef battle. Or epic connection battle. Whole point of a rap battle is to diss your opponent. And Julia won at that, no contest.

    • @warlerker
      @warlerker 8 років тому +5

      +Darkos Overlord you mean like the connection between Justin Bieber and Beethoven? or deadpool and the worthless boba fett?

    • @94DARKOS
      @94DARKOS 8 років тому +8

      Seriously? Okay...
      So, epic RAP battle, not epic chef battle. Were they cooking? Or were they rapping? Also, are they rappers of history? It's pretty obvious that the title does not refer to what they do but on what they're doing.
      And yes, it is about the connection they have.
      Otherwise, explain on what criteria do they pick the people.
      What, did they pick Bob Ross and Picasso because they were the first names popping in mind? Or because they were... you know, artists? And again, they were rapping, not painting, the show wasn't epic painters of history.
      Pretty shallow point you made here.
      Justin Bieber and Beethoven: worldwide famous musicians (even tho I didn't like that rap battle for the same reason: they literally made fun of JB as a person, also weak)
      "Worthless" Boba Fett? You clearly don't even know what SW fandom is about. Boba Fett is... legendary, kinda. An iconic figure of a newly-reborn franchise against Deadpool, a newly-reborn iconic figure of a franchise.

    i feel like ramsay won because, despite all the insults she hurled at him, ramsay made the one point that she couldn't: he was the only innovator in this battle. his line about how she was a glorified translator in the way that she only recreated french dishes was a major jab that i feel many overlooked because he was so angry the whole time.

      I think they just don't realise that Gordon Ramsay is actually a decent guy in person, as opposed to the rage monster portrayed in most of his shows.
      That said, I would give this one to Julia Child anyway, because they had Gordon focusing way too much on her weight to the detriment of the rest.

      De Pijnappelklier To be more specific, he’s hard on adults who are professional chefs (he can tolerate mistakes made by adults who aren’t professional chefs, at least for a while). Seriously, have you seen how many of these professional chefs he’s met have made rookie mistakes? I mean just this year, a chef served him Kraft Mac N’ Cheese. Idk about most other professional chefs, but Gordon Ramsay can tell whether or not something’s been microwaved.

    • @dkmetcalf6722

      I would in my opinion give this one to Gordon based off of Bars but the rhyme and flow to Julia. And yes they are a bit too biased because they didn’t even react to his Donkey and Shrek joke or the Big bird and Miss piggy which was pretty funny

  • @hirammcdaniels6310

    see I think they got Ramsey wrong in this erb. in his show when he worked with children he was calm, collected, helpful, and nice, it's because they're learning. he gets angry at adults because they're professional chefs who should know how to cook and not make these dumb mistakes, that's why he gets angry, which I think they could've portrayed better in this episode

      The horror.

    • @CynicalBastard47
      @CynicalBastard47 8 років тому +4

      Well... he gets angry when he expects the best... and when he's trying to actually run a restaurant that is actively being sabotaged by the stupid fuckers at Fox. Some of the worst blow ups he's had on the show were in response to things the producers did, and a lot of the drama in the dorms is staged.
      ...with some odd exceptions. Apparently Raj really is that batshit insane.

    Actually you are a lil wrong and misinformed which is RARE for you guys Gordon has a few shows (one i know i watched on TV recently) where he deals with kids and he extremely nice and helpful and doesn't get mad at all. HOWEVER what he hates is people who are "professional chefs" and can't tell the difference in medium and well done or several other basics. he DESPISES and he cannot stand people being in his profession that do not know ANYTHING about being a good cook which is the shows where he gets mad.

    • @pikarat_nova
      @pikarat_nova 8 років тому +3

      I agree, with kids he is good and clam. I can see however why people can see Gordon as a mad lunatic or whatever they call him. On Hell's Kitchen, he is furious, even at the customers!

    • @rambletash
      @rambletash 4 роки тому +1

      Also he's much calmer and more polite on British TV, he deliberately plays it up for American audiences because modern American cooking shows are all about the drama, whereas British cooking shows tend to be a lot more low key. He's successful because he knows what the audience he's selling to wants to buy, if you see what I mean.

  • @TheHestya
    @TheHestya 8 років тому +64

    I would rather hang out with Ramsay. I've seen him cooking at home, being with kids (on youtube) and I've only heard good things about him from people that know him personally. He has a great sense of humour, he is a very kind and generous person. What he acts like on his shows is different, because that is where he expects excellence. Look at how he talks to kids in Junior Chef and then look at how he talks to adults that are supposed to be chefs. Like, the people that he works with are supposed to be chefs already. His name depends on their work basically. And he gets people that want to win a big amount of money to open their own restaurants, people that are working as chefs in places that cook food and he gets these idiots that can't cook without burning stuff, can't tell if the chicken is cooked or raw and are totally ok to give that chicken up for serving. Something that could kill people. That is what he gets in HIS restaurant. Or he gets the same sort of people fighting between each other in a kitchen on a set. Or he gets the same kind of people asking him for help, because they don't see why their businesses are going down the drains. He has to work with people like that. Of course he's angry. He expects chefs to know how to cook. And he sees chefs that give him raw food for serving to customers or restaurants that use microwaves. When he does shows at home or in his own restaurant without idiots all around the place, I see him being a genuine, nice person, I see he loves his work and loves his family, I see he knows how to interact with children, I see his own children are nice, kind and smart, witty even. He laughs when his kids are sarcastic and witty towards him and make fun of him. Above all I respect the way he acts with the idiots he works with, he has a backbone, he won't let your shit slide, he won't just wave his arms and say he doesn't know what to do. He'll fucking call you out on your bullshit, on your attitude towards people with more experience and knowledge. He went through that shit when he was learning, I've seen videos of him working under a chef and being yelled at for shit work. And that made him a great chef. If you can't do your job with your chef yelling at you for doing shit, you have no place in the kitchen. You make food for people. You don't get to fuck up and expect praise.

    Ramsay won.
    1. More consistent with his raps.
    2. All Julia did was attack his personality, which she got wrong. Thereby making the majority of her disses pointless.
    But that's my point.

    • @Vinnce12
      @Vinnce12 8 років тому +6

      RandomExplosions Shit happens. There have been times when Ramsay revisited the restaurants he's helped to see how they're doing. Some stay strong, some crack under pressure, some close for miscellaneous reasons. One time in particular comes to mind for me, when he went back to a restaurant that had an insanely controlling owner and he managed to calm her down. When he revisited her, he found out that she had shut down the place because it became a burden to run and she wanted to focus more on her family. Ramsay didn't flip out or lecture her, he understood that sometimes the restaurant business isn't for everyone and he commended her for doing what made her happy. That's why I roll my eyes whenever someone claims that he's some kind of cruel blowhard.

As for you guys wanting Julia to teach you over Gordon, it's laughable. thing is with Ramsay is that presented with someone who is trying but doesn't quite know what they're doing and admit that is that he *is* calm and patient with them (especially when they're kids). it's when they *should* know what they're doing but are failing to measure up or listen to his advice that he loses his temper, and that's why he's kind of written into a corner with this rap battle, because he *has* to be on the offensive by the nature of the show despite that he has very little reason *to* be angry

    You realize that Gordan Ramsey is actually a very nice guy. He's only like that in the American version of his show. Fox gets a kick out of his character. In any other show he's a very calm and happy person. It's just a personality used for entertainment. It is admittedly pretty funny to see him go off on someone though.

    I actually sense bias on this. Doesn't matter anyway because I checked and and I'm happy to know more people declare Ramsey the winner on the ERB Wiki site. Their post-reaction commentary reminds me of their Goku vs Superman DB reactions since they like Goku more for their own reasons.

    • @shadowywarrior
      @shadowywarrior 7 років тому +3

      Yeah, but Goku did win that ERB, that last line was just brutal. But here i say Gordon won. The thing that i looked at in their raps of chefs was who cooked better, and Child couldn't touch Ramsey at all.

    My roommate has been watching Hell's Kitchen for a while now and I began watching it as well. I couldn't bear to watch it at first, because how the chefs were treated reminded me of how I was treated at work, but I slowly understood that Ramsey was never angry outside the kitchen, and he had kindness in most situations. I still don't believe that he treats people right, but he isn't the monster I thought he was... I personally believe there is no excuse for hurting people emotionally, and I want to grow into a person who never damages others' like that.
    On another note, I've heard its very hard to stay obese with a clean liver. (Just FYI)

    Sorry but ramsay Got this one.
    Child Btw is standing in her kitchen teaching people how to Cook. Ramsay is teaching how to handle a kitchen. Big difference.
    his shouting is normal in a busy kitchen.
    lasting contribution? in europe we never heard of Julia Child. every country has their own Julia Child.
    Like ramsay said he is a creator. Julia Child is not.
    For the first time since I have been watching your channel I consider your opinion to be bias.
    Love you guys anyway ;)

    • @Wasabifold
      @Wasabifold 8 років тому +10

      +Maarten Vangeel Actually your opinion is biased. All of your points for why Ramsay wins pertains to him as a person. Has nothing to do with the rap. Julia had better lines than Ramsay. That's why she won. The lines she actually won with are:
      "Here's a nice amouse bouche, take a poor abused youth. Set a thirty year timer, Voila! Huge Douche"
      Basically saying that Ramsay is not only easy to figure out with this simple recipe but also just a result of his loveless childhood or at least she perceives it.
      And of course
      "You scream at women, but the fits that you're pitching, Make you the pissiest bitch in the kitchen"
      This line references Ramsay's opening salvo where he talks about all his shows that are green lit for production and how successful he is. She basically dissolves the appeal of his shows to his temper tantrums and not his cooking talent, that it is in fact his fits that he is pitching (both at the chefs and the tv studio) and all it makes him is a pissy bitch.
      And finally
      Eat a Dick, Bon Appetit. The perfect finisher. Self explanatory.
      If you break down this rap, Julia demolished Ramsay.

      +Wasabifold ramsay For me took the battle by comparing her to a glorified translator.
      For me it was over after That point. I agree That the lines you refer to are good even really good. But those are based On personality (ramsay is an asshole ) which are Just as "stupid" as ramsay telling Child she is fat. It is a battle about cooking. While ramsay "destroyed" her abilities and importance, she was not able to do so. she even agreed On it. Nothing bias about That. Just my opinion. thank you For replying :)

    • @Wasabifold
      @Wasabifold 8 років тому +3

      Maarten Vangeel That was Ramsay's best line when he laid into her legacy about the unhealthy nature of her cooking and the unoriginal recipes she showed on the show. Valid points. But I don't think it overturns the quality of those lines that I mentioned. But sure we can agree to disagree.
