I am not sure about Austin Power losing that badly. It hard to battle vs two bonds, but the two were fighting each other, more then Powers. He was having fun the whole time, just like his movies are, and got in some great lines.
I say Bonds lost to himself, now if they ganged up on Powers then they would've won no questions asked.
true, but then again, Powers did have two ladies during it, while the other just talked about ladies, he proved it having them with him, lol.
An important thing to point out, is that one easily looks at all the things surrounding Austin Powers and goes WTF????, and forgets his lines that actually is pretty sharp.

Powers was great here, but he was "himself" most of the time, much more than attacking Bond. And I'd argue that he didn't had the full second round also because they didn't had the material for his character.
I think Austin Powers won purely because he was having the most fun the entire time and I loved it.

I agree. I really enjoyed this rap battle, especially because of Austin Powers. He was spot-on, and I love how he became a spectator. He was just having a good time on the sidelines, and going with the flow. :)

On that whole point about American actors playing Bond.... i think the thing is that Bond being a British agent is such a _fundamental_ and _stated_ part of his character, that some people might not have been able to settle it in their minds.

I agree, Brosnan was the _suavest_ Bond and epitomized the "gentleman" quality of the character. Crag has the cold, skillful killer part down, but none of the personality or very much likability. Connery, however, managed to do both to a lesser degree, but put in not only his own style, but to infuse the character with traits which not only set the standards of the Bond character, but also which the others actors emulate..
Remember that even though he is a British spy, he is not British. He's been retconned into being Scottish or something like that. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)
No no, Bond was still a Brit, though i believe as a child he was schooled in Scottland for a while.

I love how each Bond (and Austin) had their own beat and music. Then, when everyone took their turn rapping, the transitions of the beats and music would flow beautifully.
Four years later and that “We got ‘em Baby” story at the beginning still makes me roflol like a mad man
The whole thing about Bond's nationality is rather complex. Supposedly Fleming wanting Bond parents to share his own parents nationality and ethnicity, an English father and his mother being Swiss. Now this was never declared on page in the books, and once Connery was cast in the movies, something Fleming was against as he wanted an English actor to play the role, until he saw him in action, then his backstory was updated in the novels to make his dad Scottish.
Now throw in that Bond's adventures are influenced by Flemings time in the secret service, this does kinda allow people to make accusations of Bond being a Mary Sue type. But to them I say simply, go away :D
James Bond is like The Doctor he just keeps going no matter how many faces he has, and he gets cooler each time.

I know at this point its basically considered Necromancy, but James Bond was written Scottish, because of Sean Connery. His background was never mentioned in the early books, but after Fleming watched the first movie he was so impressed with Sean Connery that he made James Bond Scottish in tribute to him. Just a fun fact.

Keep in mind that it is way deeper than it seems, and FILLED with symbolism and stuff that we can interpret in multiple ways, you guys are smart and open minded. I've been watching through all the Bond movies, many of them for the first time, and I think George Lazenby was severely underrated. On Her Majesty's Secret Service is one of my personal favorites. Diamonds are Forever was an atrocious follow up, and definitely Connery's worst Bond movie.
I agree. I watched it yesterday for the first time. The film was excellent. Probably my favorite along with From Russia With Love.
I don't get the indifference to Lazenby. After the movie i was thinking is he my favorite? Then i watched Thunderball. Ok. Not better then Connery. But really really good. He just isn't the typical Bond. Super suave, super awesome or super human.
There's a vulnerability to his Bond, which makes him very relatable imo. Plus, i loved him at the middle part of the movie, when he was masquerading as that Professor. He was changing his voice and mannerisms, making it feel like he's really undercover.

Liked it, I am glad to see guy on left picking it up. He laughed at jokes that are supposed to be funny, unlike in some past ERB's where he laughed at several of them.

Sam Neill (a New Zealander btw) had just done the excellent BBC series 'Reilly' at that point in which he plays a Russian born Jewish secret agent who started to work for the British Empire at the beginning of the 20th century. Then again, George Lazenby is Australian, so New Zealand would just be 1 island further.
Even so, the Broccoli family only was able to get the rights for the Bond movies after they assured the Ian Fleming and/ or his heirs that James would always be played by a British actor. (similar to the Harry Potter franchise)
Lloyd's Connery Bond outfit and face were literally near spot on and the voice, the suit, it was perfectly executed and his lines were sleek and killer as Connery Bond himself. He takes the victory in my own opinion :)

Next time you guys do an ERB video you should say your ERB reactions always come the week after they're released at the beginning of the reaction (not the video, the reaction). That way you might be able to stem the tide of people constantly asking for the next ERB reaction.

Personally, I think I like the Connery films the best, with the Craig films running second, but then Daniel is probably my favorite incarnation of Bond. After them, I like Brosnan third, Dalton fourth, and then Moore and Lazenby can wait together at the bottom.
