You knew immediately that she was a deep thinker, that maybe she possessed this unusual honesty and genuineness that not a lot of people have or will ever have. She is truly a spiritual being, a light in our world. A shining "star" among us.
This is a wonderful interview. It’s so interesting to listen to k d answer his questions with such introspection and thoughtfulness. She’s just so down to earth, no pretense at all. Makes me feel like I just want to be her friend. Would love to play with her dogs with her, or take walks and talk about stuff going on in the world, or discuss Buddhism with her. I don’t feel drawn to her because of her celebrity, just her down to earth “humanness”. I feel I learn like I learn so much from her. She is truly a special person....

k.d. is NOT boring, as one person (SD) said in comments. She does not have to put on a fake overly-animated face because she is genuine and centered. Most interview shows present people in highly artificial settings where everyone is over the top. That is unfortunately what Americans have come to expect. Just look at SNL, one of the dumbest and phoniest shows on television, yet the audience behaves as if something great is going on.

Ernie Manouse does great interviews. Everyone he's spoken with just open up and give that little bit extra that they might not otherwise do. He makes it easy for them. This interview was great for k.d. but she's always been open and focused in her approach to questions. Great job!

I love K.D.’s philosophy of life. It’s a lot like mine.when you asked if she’s doing what she wants to be doing in life now, she mentioned that she doesn’t sell a lot of records, but that’s not as important as connecting with her audience and loving the music, and singing. She totally enjoys what she has chosen to do, so she is happy. I get that. I don’t have a six figure job as a Security Supervisor, but I like the people that I interact with in my job. I love what I do, and money is not the most important thing about my job, because I’ve found other legal, and taxable ways to make money that I never saw coming. I get that. Katherine Dawn Lang loves music and I can feel that most from her when she sings my personal favorite of hers after her Barefoot, which is Hallelujah. K.D. Lang is transported to a peaceful serene place and healed every time she sings Hallelujah? And so am I. She is a phenomenal singer, with a phenomenal outlook on life. ❤️

The interviewer has the eyes of a devil,i wouldn't trust him this much but when i saw the interview further i found he seems to get in tune with her which i found it superb.
There's Another INTERESTING Interview of the same "Invicible" Period, but we CAN'T let comments there...Kd is wearing a brown pull & a cream scarve...( and a chewing-gum as guest star ! 😊) she's very quiet- We don't see the interviewer, who has some little difficulties at starting a question. (impressed ?) But he does a great job, not going in the past of early Kd's career, where all has been said-- And asking questions I had never heard......about Music !! & the way Kd works...very very good interview, my favorite...!

She made one massive mistake. That was trying to be a pop star. Ingenue sold because people could identify with the theme of suffering. She lost contact with her audience. The song, If I Was You, on All You Can Eat was a the best song because it was about angst. Summer Fling was a beautiful song, but joyous songs about love were very common at the time and it made no impact.
She made zero mistakes. She sang what she wanted to sing. Her goals aren’t to be the most famous or best selling. Her goal is to be authentic and make music that touches her.
I don’t know where or how you got the idea that she let her politics interfere with her career. She has always maintained that she sings what she wants to sing. She is always honest and, especially, true to herself. That shows her integrity.
