  • Hello everyone, my name is Duong.
    I am 32 years old.
I live in a poor mountainous area of Vietnam.
From a young age, I had to work hard to help my parents.
Difficult life is always around, I work and learn everything from my grandparents and the old people in the village.
    Gradually, I mastered the skills.
5 years ago, I decided to live the challenge.
Determined to learn about the primitive way of life, I chose to live in the wilderness, alone.
Where there's no technology and forcing yourself to pass, it feels great!
How about you? Your life is definitely different from mine.
    Have fun watching the video!

It's great that I accidentally discovered it and I think it will be in large quantities, do you have any ideas about copper?

You have actually found a copper vein. There is nothing good for you personally. Since the place itself can turn into a mine.

It’s doubtful there’s actually copper there. It usually appears as a bluish green stain on rocks and has to be mined out where that occurs. It’s quite unlikely that it would start showing up in shiny refined pellets. There appear to shenanigans going on in this “find”.

Pure copper can exist in nature, BUT not the way you show us, I mean without oxidation, I would check if upstream the river there is not an extraction site or a factory, which will explain the copper state you did find ;)
If there is not, buy the land and that river ;)

    • @Lacider
      @Lacider 10 місяців тому +11

agreed, natural copper would never look like that or be worked so easily. If it is actually a real find, then I think it is just trash that someone threw into the river upstream. If that is the case, then the water is likely tainted, and I wouldn't trust any food that came from it.

finding nuggets of metallic is not the normal method, it usually is contained in ore mixed with other impurities or metals. there are several methods to end up with metal but they all start with 3 steps collecting concentrating and crushing . it can then be chemically extracted or forge refined . i keep telling you ...fix the water supply power your wheel make a stamp mill to crush ore and limestone and whatever else needs crushing ...power your kiln with a blower limestone into lime and dry food far more efficiently....but it is your life and effort so i cant spend it for you. thanks for the videos.

For those not sure why Duong is scattering lime powder all over, it's because it's highly alkaline. This isn't powdered limes as in the fruit. Instead, it's limestone that has been baked at high temperatures to turn it into caustic lime, which can then be mixed with water to turn it into slaked lime, which is used to make mortar, cement, and whitewash. Caustic lime is extremely alkaline and needs to be handled carefully, especially as it gets VERY hot when exposed to water, before it "slakes its thirst" with the water. Then its alkalinity is lowered, but it is still very strong. (I'm pretty sure Duong is using powdered slaked lime, which has been given just enough water to lower the pH, making it suitable for turning into cement.)
The strong base nature of lime (the opposite of acidic) helps to kill mold, mildew, bacteria, viruses, and other forms of germs and pathogens. Since the pigs are constantly eating in those pens, but are also possibly going to the bathroom in there, peeing and such, and they do step into their troughs, it is VERY important to clean the boards regularly. Bleach would cause the pigs harm, and boiling water is difficult to get to the boards. But the powder can be cast onto the pen, allowed to sit to interact with the tiny microbes, destroying them, and then rinsed with cold water. It's not very harmful to the pigs, but it is harmful to bacteria.
A LOT of barns, pig stys, chicken coops, people's homes, and more have been treated with whitewash for thousands of years across regions of the world, to help keep our living spaces cleaner and healthier.
On the other end of the scale, his wife Huang Huong released a video recently where she was pickling mustard greens. A little bit of salt kills off the bad bacteria, allowing the good kind, lactobacilli, to grow and ferment, since they don't mind living in a salty environment. (They are present everywhere, and are often found on the leaves of cabbages, broccoli, kale, and other members of the mustard family.) These will produce acids that will keep the food from spoiling, preserving it for months or even years longer than it otherwise would have lasted. So you can also use acids to destroy bad bacteria as well as alkalines. It's just easier to use powdered lime in the pig pen.

I am no veterinarian but what I have read is that african swine fever is not curable currently, all they offer as a solution is to isolate and cull any infected herds whenever there has been a confirmed infection. I hope your pigs are healthy but I suggest you have a professional or maybe a farmer who knows the signs of the virus and have them explain what needs to be done.

Hello Duong, congratulations on your work over the years. Concerning swine fever, it is transmitted in five different ways: either one of your pigs was infected from the start, or it is a soft tick, or it is wild boars, or corpses or food made from infected meat. , well, either it's the man, his boots, his tools...
I think it was the wild boars who brought it back from the village, you should make a bigger park (perhaps with new certified pigs) (to have a park with more biodiversity so that the bacteria linked to pork is in competition with other bacteria) and especially with a second distant wall around the park, so that your pigs and wild boars are not near.
    Good luck!

I would go with ticks considering at 12:11 the pig at the bottom of the screen has several on it's back, one looks so full it's about to burst.
edit: I actually count 9 on the bottom pig and noticed a big fat one on the ear of the pig in the middle.

Native copper is somewhat rare, but it does occur...and it takes time to oxidize. (In this case, "native" means not merely a part of a chemically complex stone, but actually just copper itself in its metal form.) It's true that it's far more often found in green stones such as malachite and chalcopyrite, along with cuprite, tennantite, dioptase, and more. However, native copper is found far more often than native silver (which tends to oxidize very quickly) or native gold (aka gold nuggets). Copper, being heavier than the average stone by a little bit--even if nowhere near as heavy as gold--is more likely to remain in a stream bed after being washed out of its original deposit, such as eroding free in a heavy rainstorm, or tumbling down a hillside in a rockslide/avalanche, or a mudslide.

Fantastic work Duong, i for one would love to see a complete video of you mining and panning for copper, make a panning plate / bowl from clay, once the clay firing process is finished you could start digging for smaller bits if needed (or if you want to experience panning) also making a fine woven net like a siv or a sluice box would be great for getting those medium to large pieces of copper, copper tools are also helpful 👍🏽

You can also make a filter from something with a sponge texture. The heavy copper will get stuck in the filter as they flow over it and then you can burn it to extract the metal. I’ve seen it done for gold at least.

    Oregano, Sage, Basil, Fennel, Garlic,
Lemon balm (melissa), Peppermint, Rosemary, Echinacea, Sambacus (elderberry), Licorice, Astralagus, Ginger, Ginseng, and Dandelion are all listed as herbs with antiviral properties. Since these are very common kitchen herbs, even weeds , one or more should be relatively abundant in your area and can be included in your feed. You may even consider creating different plots that you can plant a variety of these herbs in and rotate them through these different enclosures so their waste does not build up in one area and the plants can break down and utilize the organic material. They will be much healthier if they can graze naturally.

I agree with other comments in that - copper usually shows up as green or blue marks on ricks near a river. When you find green or blue marks you would then start breaking rocks into smaller pieces to get just the green and blue parts without the rock.
Copper is also denser than many other metals. You can compare the weight of the pellet to a known sample of copper with a similar size. If your new found copper is much lighter than known copper samples, then it may not be copper that you found.
But, these pellets you found are quite soft, which is similar to how soft copper is.
Eitherway, to collect those pellets like that, all you can do is just collect by hand. Be on the look out for blue or green marks in rocks - that would be oxidized copper.

Duong, the African Swine Fever really has no prevention methods currently. We can only try and protect the pigs from getting the fever in the first place. One of those ways is creating a "zone" around the pen like you are doing with the lime. If you think a pig is infected, then don't let them around the other pigs! It can usually take 10 days before a pig dies after being infected. Using garlic is a great idea by the way.

Your tasks are slowly becoming more labor intensive. I believe it will be in the best interest of your health, and the development of your farm if you consider making food that can provide you with energy, carbohydrates, protein, sugar, and fats, and has a long shelf life. Historically, foods such as Scottish bannock bread, English hard tack, and Native American pemmican were eaten to provide energy and sustenance to hunters, gatherers, workers and pioneers. Foods such as these would be made with fat, fruit, meat, and carbohydrates, then cooked thoroughly so most of the moisture was removed. This made it easy to carry, store, eat, and make, and foods like these would last a long time. I hope you are able to create something like these foods so you can continue to remain healthy and productive.

From what I read you need to separate your piglets from your big pigs because it seems like they are getting sick and you don't want the big ones to get infected as well.
Will be praying for you and your pigs.
Plus if anyone comes to your farm do not let them around your pigs and wash your shoes before you go in there enclosure to prevent introducing the swine flu to your remaining pigs.
"The swine flu can be carried by you on your clothing."
    Good luck and God bless

copper gold and silver are heavier than the surrounding materials... all you need is a prospecting pan, or perhaps a "gem sieve" that you might even be able to make similar to how you strain gravel when you make concrete. neither are hard to use. you tube both terms. with your abilities i wouldnt be surprised if you could fabricate both

With both Copper and Iron deposits nearby you could actually get some electricity going! The only necessity you might not be able to manufacture on site are high power magnets. You'll really need a dedicated black smith shop.

Hi, Duong, Alvin from South Africa. While browsing through you tube, I found both the channels by chance. Love both the channels very much. You and your wife are an inspiration that hard work and dedication will sow the rewards in the end. Hope the pigs get better and start eating properly. Always looking out for your new videos.

I’m not a professional but as I’ve read symptoms for African Swine Fever are reddening or darkening of ears and snout, vomiting, diarrhoea, gummed up eyes, which your pigs didn’t exhibit, so I hope everything will turn out alright, my advise is just to keep an eye on it.
