Oh my!!! What views!! They are like nothing I could even imagine!!
You got my Heart Rate up with some of those maneuvers.. like that narrow stretch!!
I watched this twice in a row and I thank you both for motivating my workout today! I put the incline up on the treadmill as you approached the summits and haha did 10 miles on my exercise bike to cool down.
That’s going to be my new ‘thing’.. if I’m going to watch .. I’m going to have to sweat too!
    Peace ☮️✌🏻

Robin I love watching hiking videos when I'm on my stationary bike! It pumps me up and time goes by fast! I'm really glad you enjoyed this one. My mom is a bad ass for completing it!

Thanks for the awesome video nick! I hiked it this Sunday, left at the sign stayed low, rounded the corner and I saw the ridge and the notch. I continued on the talus slope pretty much parallel with the ridge and then gained the ridge without loosing altitude or having to climb much.
I went straight up the center of the summit block over the big white rocks and avoided the exposure on the right.
what a great summit and the views are the best in IPW

This video is so awesome. Really appreciate you posting this! We stopped near the top because of snow 3 weeks ago. Amazing to see the summit hike!! ✊✊

I don't know why, but 14:42 just made me lol. Just casually hanging out on a cliff with extreme exposure. Barb is a total bada$$.

Another great video! Did you like the views better from Shoshoni or Toll? I summited Toll on Friday, but it was completely clouded over. Just tying to decide if I should go back up Toll or try Shoshoni. How is the route finding to Shoshoni Peak?

Plan to do one more big hike in IPW before they close off Brainard road for the season. Trying to decide between Shoshoni or Pawnee (Toll if I have energy). What would you commend Nick?

If you can do Shoshoni I would say its better than Pawnee. Its harder though. Toll isnt too bad other than the down and up section. Have to save some energy for hike back up.. but if you do Toll then Pawnee is right there too so its easy to do both. Its maybe another 50 yards from the Toll split. Id say Toll and Shoshoni are pretty similair in difficulty.

The Indian Peaks are a jewel. I’ve hiked Audubon 2 times and am planing to do the traverse over to Pawnee. I know it’s class 3 but looking at the ridge you take from Audubon it looked pretty doable. I feel the Indian Peaks are very underrated and have better views than a lot of 14ers.

The Indian Peaks are amazing. Not a boring hike in em. You could literally call it Rocky Mountain National Park 2. Audubon to Pawnee looks nice! Class 3 for sure. Gotta go up and over Pauite peak. Only problem with all those hikes is getting to long lake trailhead before it's full. I almost wouldn't even attempt i on the weekends unless you can get there by 5:30 am.

I want to get Apache Peak next summer. That thing looks wicked.

I also wanted to ask where is best to split off to Shoshoni. Do you cut off right at the pass or before?

  • @jasonthomas16
    @jasonthomas16 4 роки тому

So its best to split off way to the left on the lower part of the ridge? I think thats what you said at the end of the video when you got down to the pass. Also was curious how bad the exposure was generally

Exposure isnt bad until the summit. But those last few moves to get to top are kinda airy. But yes, when you get to Pawnee Pass stay low and skirt the hill of rocks to south side. If you keep it flat it should almost come out to bottom of notch which is where you want to be. Then scramble up from low point in notch and get up on somewhat grassy part and walk it on up to the summit block. Its also worth it to drop down to east peak.. different views.

Nick Sangetta thank you. Im planning to get it done tomorrow but route finding is a weakness of mine. This route looked pretty clear but things always look different once you get into the hike. Hope you made it up Toll. Look forward to that video if you make one. Would love to join for a hike sometime if you were ever open to that. Stay safe.

Thanks Nick for this video. How come you saw these many wildlife on one hike? :) Also, you have such a good voice.
