@ 3:15 that's a Dark-eyed Junco. Identification is half the fun of birding.
That glitching is definitely the card. I use Angelbird. No problems.
The RF 100-500 is almost impossible to find, but if Camera Camera can lend you one, give it a test. It's not that heavy; your Monkey Strength should handle it. It can focus to less than 3 feet. Imagine the squirrel footage!
The red-bellied woodpecker has red plumage around the cloaca. I guess calling it a "red-vented woodpecker" would draw too much attention to the naughty bits.

The only reason I'm sticking with my Fuji X-S10 is the delicious IBIS.
The shaky turd I was getting with Sony A7R3 was just soul crunching.
Once I switched to X-S10, it's so so so much better. Looks as good as using a gimbal in 120fps.
Now only if could get the damn Fuji to autofocus better!

According to fujirumors, Fuji also seems to be patented these two prime lenses: XF400mm f/4 and XF550mm f/5.6. I just wish one of these or the upcoming 150-600mm had an XC version: full plastic, half the weight, no WR AND cheap! Probably will not happen but then again XC50-230mm exists and its great for what it is.

    you got lines of doom?
your r5 is fried, unfortunately. i had this issue with my r6 and i got a replacement body through warranty.
you may test this, if this has the same issue like mine did
shoot at 12 fps burst and raw for 3 seconds. if you got an error message doing that, your camera electronics are faulty and needs motherboard change.
the lines in these videos are NOT normal. if the card didn't keep up it will tell you "this card is too slow, stopped recording" cuz the buffer will fill before it stops on a slow card

I did see you mention you aren't interested in adapting F mount lenses on Nikon, but just an FYI, a fellow bird photographer in Japan who was the first I saw with Z9 in hand last month, is using his go to F mount 500mm PF on the Z9 most days, and a couple days ago was using it with a 2x converter. The Z9 does not lose phase detect apparently even far beyond F5.6, so he has a 1000mm F11, which would be a very good direct comparison for the canon setup you're using. Most tests are showing the Z9 also outperforms native F mount cameras with their native F mount lenses adapted to it. The only draw back is of course the extra length of the adapter + the teleconverter, but the PF lens is already very short and very light for what it is. I held his camera with the 500pf, and it was still back heavy to my surprise. He says the performance is very good. Yes, it's not video he is doing.. but if you have the means to test this combo, it would be very interesting. Final note, the most recent versions of Nikon F mount teleconverters are said to be lossless quality and performance. Same is said for Z mount converters.

Someone mentioned it below, but shooting with both eyes open, there is a simple trick. Close your EVF eye, find the bird with your other eye, then open your evf eye while maintaining visual focus. It is weird, but you end up with a 50/50 organic, bionic stereoscopic image. It doesn't work 100% of the time, ie if the angle is such that your lens blocks the view for the organic view, but this is by far the best means of tracking birds in flight let alone just keeping them locked on in the viewfinder. It takes some getting used to, and feels a bit weird, with the organic image usually far smaller than the evf image, but this is how most pros do it and actually the smaller full wide view with your natural vision is why it is so much easier to track. Basically a wide lens and a telephoto simultaneously. I still have to remind myself sometimes, usually as soon as I have trouble finding/tracking a subject.

Enjoying your content. You may want to try when shooting with long lenses, handheld stare at the subject and bring the camera up to your eye without moving your head and it will be framed where you were looking. Obviously cant work with a tripod or monopod but having 2 eyes open and looking down the lens with the non dominant eye can really help in those cases.

I have been seeing a lot of reviews of this FFxt4 and I am getting more and more feelings to buy it. Which lens would you recommend me to get with the camera to make UA-cam head talking videos, b-rolls, some short films and stuff like those?

Again with the jokes (7:10-nice one). I have a Canon 6Dii. Joke's on me.

Oddly enough, the Red-bellied Woodpecker is named for its least distinctive feature, a light wash of red or pink on its belly that can only be seen if the bird is hanging upside-down.

I wonder if you use a close up filter on the 800mm f11 if it will be usable.

Have you heard about the 200fps mode on fuji? not as magical as 240, but cuts way down on the moray

I would appreciate if you give us info about Sony with Tamron 100-500. I have tried tamron 17-70 so far I have been happy. It collects some dust inside, behind the last element though.
I have always thought about getting sony 200-600 to end the long reach debate. But it's big and heavy, certainly isn't practical for non-professional hoby carying around.

@15:30 - what is F11? is it a car like F1 only better? it can't be a bird.

You said the RF 100-500mm is so expensive (very true) and is so heavy? .. So i guess the Fuji 100-400 is so heavy also? They weight just about the same!

What are you shooting on the fuj? Eterna with all the tone and colour set at 0? Or Provia?

I love your videos. Don't feed bread to ducks. Give them oats or corn instead.
