      How you like it so far? I got the 6000 Pro...and am looking at the 4000LT or the 2300 Pro, for a day pack option and trying to decide.

    What compromises does this make (if any) compared to the regular Pro line? Slightly less durability of the material and fewer straps? In other words, why would I choose the Pro line over the Pro LT line?

    I’ve had the ProLT 7000 for 1 year & have found the carbon pack frame wears holes in the bag just below the horns where the lift handle is. I have contacted Kuiu & they don’t seem interested in fixing the fault in design. Also the zips get caught & open the pockets when pushing through thick bush. Kuiu doesn’t seem interested in turning the zips around to fix this problem either.

    • @shanesaw13
      @shanesaw13 2 роки тому

      Steve, are you referring to the zips on the hip belt pouches? If so, switch the pouches to opposite side they are currently mounted and the zips will be facing the right direction. I did the same thing at first and it was an easy fix.

    Does the PRO LT 5500 not have a bladder sleeve? Or do you guys sell it separately? My back seems to have the hole up top to slip the hose through but I don’t see any sleeve. There are the straps inside that I have been using to cinch down the bladder but it doesn’t rework very well when I’ve drank abo half the bladder worth and it just collapses.

    I just bought the pro LT 4000. Do yall sell additional straps that can go onto those laser cut attachments on the front of the pack? Which would enable me to carry a bow/rifle.

    So is my Icon Pro pack redundant at this point? Or does that suspension system still work for current pack line? I love my pack. I love my Kuiu gear. It's been there for me when i needed it. Just trying to understand as I only have so much funds for gear every year. Appreciate you pushing your product line development tho guys.

    • @kuiuultralight
      @kuiuultralight  4 роки тому +3

      Hey Rafael--basically, any component of your Icon Pro system should be fully interchangeable with the Pro and Pro LT bags, frame, and suspension. So if you wanted to add on to your system or upgrade one component, you will be able to do so easily.
      Some of the very earliest Icon Pro systems used different fasteners than the current ones, but we have adapter kits available for those--just talk to our Customer Service team about when you bought your pack, and they'll be able to tell you whether you need any adapters.

    I was told these were going to be released early summer so I bought a frame and suspension system in march thinking I would have plenty of time for the August hunt. Aug came and went and still no release I had to buy a mystery ranch pack last minute. Now its mid Sept and the pack was just released and the suspension system I bought is over $30 cheaper now.
    Feel like the kuiu rep was just telling me what I wanted to hear to make a sell which put me in a poor situation.

    • @kuiuultralight
      @kuiuultralight  4 роки тому +4

      John Doe sorry to hear that worked out that way. These packs were originally slated for that timeframe, but shutdowns around the world due to CoViD-19 have changed delivery schedules on a number of our products, and I know we're not the only company experiencing this. Believe me, we'd much rather have you in one of our packs!

    So which one is more waterproof the ultra light series or the ripstop ones

    • @kuiuultralight
      @kuiuultralight  3 роки тому

      They are equally water resistant, but not waterproof--they are DWR-coated ripstop nylon. Both will need a rain cover (we have several sizes and colors) in truly rainy conditions.

    Does one NEED the carbon fiber frame when carrying loads of 25-45 pounds? Would the pack be usable with just the suspension and pack? (Sorry if it's a dumb question)

    • @kuiuultralight
      @kuiuultralight  3 роки тому +1

      The packs require the carbon fiber frame to function, even when not carrying weight--it's integral to the suspension fitting to the bag.

    When will you manufacture your products in the USA? You offer great products, but foreign manufacturing (especially in China) is not something my money should be supporting. You have competitors who manage to offer products made in the USA at competitive prices (Seek Outside, Gulch, Kifaru, Stone Glacier, Blackstock, Forloh, EXO, etc.)

    • @kuiuultralight

      Hi @Shin - we make our pack bags at one of the best pack manufacturers in the world, located in Vietnam. Their location doesn't detract from the quality of their work--they make a LOT of the high-quality outdoor packs on the market today, and they are not the cheapest solution by a long shot! We work with them because they're experts, and frankly, we think they make a better product.
      We put those packs on a carbon fiber frame that is made from Japanese Toray carbon fiber, processed by Chomarat in Greenville, SC to make a spread-tow ply, and then cut and laid up into the final frame at a composite shop 20 minutes from our office in Sacramento, CA.
      We know there are a lot of folks for whom Asian manufacturing is a personal issue--but for us, our focus is on quality; we're using the partners we use because they are the best possible solution. If it was about costs, you can bet we wouldn't be using the spread-tow carbon and local composite manufacturing--we'd use a cheap woven carbon and some cut-rate composite facility. We also wouldn't be using the cut-and-sew facility if it was about cost-cutting; they are not an inexpensive partner!

    • @masato3981
      @masato3981 3 роки тому +1

      @@kuiuultralight I appreciate your thoughtful reply. I have been a huge fan of your improved carbon fiber frames over the years, easily the best on the market; it's hard to beat a product made in USA with imported Toray materials (an outstanding innovator in the market).
      As for the packs, I don't doubt that you put quality first because they really are some of the best money can buy; it would, however, still be nice to consider introducing a pack made in USA that we can put on your frame system for those of us who want to support Kuiu and American manufacturing. Personally speaking, it's not a matter of quality nor cost; it's a matter of patriotism and pride.
      Again, I very much appreciate your response. Your customer service and handling of PR always impress me.

    • @kuiuultralight
      @kuiuultralight  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, we certainly understand the sentiment--and when we do find great partners domestically, we are always happy to use them. If we ever set up an in-house cut-and-sew, it would be a priority, but for now, there are things we feel like we can improve on, and others that are best left to the experts!

      In that case, the regular compression straps actually work great for that kind of application--I (the video guy) use those straps that way all the time. On the Pro LT, you have the ability to add two rear compression straps for either compressing the back pocket or carrying gear externally, shown at 0:39
