I'm glad you mentioned the missing tab on the motor pulley. I'm putting a new belt on a 328K and it does not have that tab either, so just pushing the motor up and down serves to loosen and tighten the belt.
Thank you for this video, it's been very helpful. For what it's worth, I have a couple of 328k's...no tabs for the eccentrics to push against on either of them. The lower pulley assembly is a bit different though as it is attached to a small metal flat-blade fan disk.
I’d really appreciate a tutorial on putting the stitch length lever back together after it “came apart.” If you do a tutorial on it I’ll tell you how it happened! 😁
I have a 328k and i found there is a certain orientation for the motor to come out, it took me 15 minutes of fiddling the motor but it came out easily without force.
I have a 328P I just picked up secondhand, and for the belt adjuster, mine has the little tab that yours seem to be missing so moving the adjuster actually does affect belt tension. Very weird that they're different, considering the 328P model was Australia-only.
Interesting….I’ve been given 10 vsms by a friend and currently cleaning a 328K… and yeah, it does have the black tab in mine. I’m watching this through for the brushes part but yikes…. that looks difficult. The other singers I’ve been given and cleaned the last couple of days were a lot easier than this with their back mounted motors (328, 201k and 287)
P.S…..love your videos, and love when you’ve happened to have the same or similar machines that I get …. I often just let things play after searching or on my overnight TV and I’d know your Kiwi accent anywhere now 😂😂

It's nice to watch. Thank you.
Thanks.

Excellent…
Patience and passion love to watch
Thanks.

Wow. If that's what Singer had to do at the factory just to install the motor, it's no wonder they had financial difficulties in the ensuing years...

I was wondering mine had been modified at some point but I'm not 100% sure. Thanks.

I have a 328J with the same concentric adjuster that does absolutely nothing
Yes I'm going backward but I like it LMBO
Use the original singer black belt, not the orange cogged ones. They don't grip as well....
Thanks. I agree but the original black ones are getting harder to find in our neck of the woods.
Yeah, and not cheap, either....just spent $30CDN for 2...lol@@InStitches
