    The Romeo is Eastman Guitars second original design and it does not disappoint. Dual Lollar Imperials, solid spruce top, laminated mahogany back and sides, ebony board ... everything is top shelf and finished in a clear nitro that is world class. If you're after a classy all-rounder that is light, tight and different enough to turn heads, the Romeo should be considered.

    Got one of the Romeo SC models and I have to tell you I bought it used for 1599 mint condition just a little bit of pig scratching and no front wear at all and the guitar is truly phenomenal as you are demoing here I could not have been more satisfied and am gigging it regularly. This guitar is definitely professional grade and for an amazing price, I was truly skeptical about the spruce top, but I know that heritage has for long period of time used Spruce as a softer wood in their semi hollow so I thought as a top it might be a little bright, but the way that these work for jazz blues and anything else you want is just amazing. Of course those Lawlers don’t hurt anything at all. Lol thanks again for the great demo and I hope everybody gets to experience an Eastman guitar, they are amazing 6:34

    I love Eastman. It’s unbelievable how much you get from them for the price. I just bought a acoustic from them in the 1000 dollar price range and it’s the best acoustic I’ve played. I have a 800 series Taylor too. It’s crazy.
    I’m hoping Eastman steps into the s type arena. I’ve heard rumors.

    Brett it's not semi hollow, and a full hollowbody just with a joining block just under the bridge. It's so capable of a whole range of tones from Tele, to 335 to les paul. Masterpiece 👍

    Very under appreciated feature of the Romeo is the headstock design. The string angle through the nut is much straighter than Les Paul style guitars. It helps a ton with tuning stability.

    I agree with you Brett, it’s a wonderful instrument, capable of a wide variety of tones. It’s an absolute joy to play. It took a couple of months but I finally managed to purchase one and I’ll be playing it for a long time to come.

    I’m so happy to own one of these beauties. It has a magic all its own. The spruce top makes incredibly resonant. It’s alive. I love how it pays homage to the Telecaster with its shape. Videos can’t do it justice. It’s a killer guitar. If I could only keep two of my guitars, I’d choose the Romeo and my AVRI ‘52 Tele.

    Yes a nice guitar but at those sort of prices one must really consider the re sale value. That is where it gets hard to justify unless you're considering keeping it forever?

    • @JoerivanderKloet
      @JoerivanderKloet 3 роки тому +3

      A guy that saw me playing my Romeo on an amp that I liked to hear, offered me the retail price plus 200 euro. Since they're hard to find, are made in small batches an are praised by every reviewer, resale value is good. But if you've very played it, you won't sell it.

    • @Neil-Aspinall

      @@JoerivanderKloet Yes maybe but still there' a lot around with resale value at these prices.

    • @JoerivanderKloet
      @JoerivanderKloet 3 роки тому +1

      @@Neil-Aspinall My point is that resale value isn't worse with a good Eastman than with any other 'major' American brand. More and more guitar players are starting to realize that a 'made in USA' guitar isn't necessarily beter than any other guitar, it's just more expensive. Having first hand experience with made in USA guitars at the same price point as the Romeo, I can only say: the Americans don't even come close.

    • @Neil-Aspinall
      @Neil-Aspinall 3 роки тому

      @@JoerivanderKloet I do not deny that these guitars are probably great. It's just the perception that goes along with these lesser known brands, it's your chance to take when it comes to resale.

    • @JoerivanderKloet
      @JoerivanderKloet 3 роки тому +2

      @@Neil-Aspinall Yes, but that perception is already changing, as are the prices of new and used Eastman guitars.

    • @larryh.3173
      @larryh.3173 3 роки тому +1

      From what I've read a few times in other reviews, there's only a 'small block' located right under the bridge and connecting to the back. I would assume that's there at least for some degree of feedback control (besides anchor the bridge area).

  • @Avatar7x7
    @Avatar7x7 Рік тому

    Don't like the clean tones, - it's a little too low mid focused (500hz) for my taste but it shines when you kicked in that "Crunch Box" ! Wish it had a little more fender sparkle on the top end.. I guess if you ran it through a "Duke of Tone" or some kinda pedal that you leave on all the time it might make a difference !

    Eastman electrics are great and also rare as rocking horse shite. I was looking to buy a Romeo or one of the Lollar equipped SB59 GBv guitars. After six months looking for one I gave up and bought a PRS which was 3 times the price.

    • @CarlyonProduction
      @CarlyonProduction 2 роки тому

      How are you getting on with the PRS? I am currently trying to decide what to get. Originally I wanted a 339, now I am looking also at the 484 from Eastman, this one, possibly spending a whole lot more on a PRS....

    • @chrisjs6123
      @chrisjs6123 2 роки тому

      @@CarlyonProduction I don't regret buying the PRS. It is perfectly set up and hasn't moved in the year since I have had it despite living in a tough climate. Feels and sounds wonderful, all round a lovely thing to own. I don't dare gig with it though, I take a tele or a Harmony out with me. You may be less anxious that I am though.

    I had a chance to try one yesterday. I was truly jonesing for that guitar. I compared it to my Ibanez AM153. The Romeo is nice but it is so similar to the 153. Sounds were exactly the same. Playability the same. Frets of similar quality. Tuners not as good on te 153, easy upgrade. Some might think the 153 more beautiful. The big difference, new the Romeo is now $2,499. The 153 is $999. Needless to say I didn't by the Romeo. Hopes this helps you all in your search for your favorite guitar.
