I moved away from my home country when I was really young and because of that I’ve always had a really hard time feeling completely at “home.” Even a decade later I miss the way things were. I miss the people. The places. The sights, smells, and sounds. I miss what could’ve been and ponder on what is.
So as I listen to this song in the room that my mom grew up in inside my grandmothers house, as I visit for the summer, I’m reminded of the journey that got me here, and to my immense surprise… I’m grateful for it.
I would not be who I am without all that came before me.

just commented on one of the shorts but, this song at its core reminds me of how i acted around my first boyfriend, my first everything, my first love before we broke up
i won't bore the comments w the details but, "i can't save him from the fire, but i'm cold" just encapsulates sacrificing a lot for your s/o, despite losing a bit of yourself in the process.
there are some things i wish i could change looking back, but i don't regret it, the same way this ballad cherishes the fleeting moments of a love so strong it felt like home :")
