Hi Rachel. 😊 I'm currenly doing a marathon at ur vids XD they're soo helpful, I just got my student visa approved and it's really wrecking my nerves cause Im gonna travel and be living on my own 😅. So thank you 🙏
Hi, Rachel! Just a small correction - the PGWP is not a really open work permit for some of the trainings. For example, I am planning to train in flight centre in Canada in order to obtain an instructor rating. And here what IRCC thinks of the PGWP for flight graduates. Please, note the last sentence. Basically, it means that I will not get PGWP without having a job offer from flight centre which is on the list of DLI. Very strong limitation :( To be eligible for a PGWP, a flight school graduate must meet all the eligibility requirements listed above, and one of the following: have completed a flight training course at a DLI training centre and now have a Canadian commercial pilot’s licence or have or be in the process of getting an instructor’s rating and a job offer as a flight instructor from a DLI flight training centre
God bless you more for sharing your wisdom, Rachel! I am also an international student here in BC graduating under Tourism Management this sem. More subs & great content for you.🙏🏻💟
Hello, Rach. May I ask for your insights on these questions? 1. SP is with spouse (OWP). Does the SP have to find a job that falls under TEER 123 inorder for the OWP to extend work permit? 2. Is a job necessary in order to apply for PGWP? If so, does it need to be full time? Thank you.
Very useful tips, Rachel, salamat! 1. Are Marketing/Communication jobs more abundant in Toronto and Vancouver? 2. You can only apply for PR once you have 1 year solid Canadian experience - can you add your part time work while studying, or does it need to be related to your course? Kung kulang sa 1 year work experience, you can add from your full time job once you have one after graduation ? Then you can apply for PR na, tama po ba? 3. Do you need to take IELTS since Academic IELTS is different sa General IELTS for immigrant application? 4. Only concern is, is 1 year enough to look for a job with your PGWP in such trying times like the pandemic? Or better take the 2 year course but is this less beneficial for older applicants 45+ who are pressed for time? May bias po ba for older applicants sa work dyan? 5. What also happens to your PGWP once you've gained a fulltime job - is it converted to a work permit by your new employer? Thanks so much.
Some of the courses that I am planning to enroll, says that the duration of the program is 1.5 to 2 years. What does this mean and how will IRCC consider the duration of such courses ? Seriously confused and unable to get any solid answers.
It really depends on the visa officer reviewing your file. Some would be feeling generous to give the 3-year PGWP (assuming all other conditions are met) and some will do 1:1 or in this case 1.5:1.5 😅🤞
@@rrdancel thanks a lot! That clarifies things. So I guess it would best to choose courses that explicitly state the duration as 2 years, in order to get a 3 yrs pgwp with reasonable confidence.

(2) Is possible to relocate to one of Atlantic provinces like Nova Scotia after the process and how do i go about this? Thanks for your urgent and kind response.

Hi Rachel! I graduated and applied for PGWP. However, my study permit and visa will be expired soon. Should I apply for extension while waiting for decision of PGWP?
Hello! First of all thank you for all the incredible and informative content! I was wondering if this "combination of 1-year courses" must be within the same institution or if you are allowed to do 2 different courses in 2 different institutions (maybe even different provinces). I'd be glad if you could answer this :)
I need a answer I studied 2 8 month courses from 2 colleges but I have one column in the education which course should I mention the recent one or the first one
Its possible if you are eligible for one of the many PR programs. Its best to get assessed by an immigration lawyer or registered immigration consultant. If you need more info, please contact me on instagram!
if BOWP doesnt work for you, you can also apply Work permit tied up with your Current Employer. that's what i did coz i was still waiting for my Application Number for PR when my PGWP expires.
Sorry for asking a lot of questions. I just wanna ask how long did you take your one year program? Is it just two terms or you took it the whole year? Because in my case I have a two year program and it may take me just 1.5 or 1.75 years to complete it. Will my PGWP have a duration of 3 years (because it’s a two year program) or it will be based on the duration of my actual studies? 😊
Hi Marc, The length of the PGWP is dependent on the length of your program and not the length that it took you to complete. So, it will be considered a. 2 year program. Here is the link: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/post-graduation-work-permit-program/permit.html#determining Hope that helps. 😊
Since PGWP is an open work permit does that mean you can do any job or is it only restricted to the field in which the person studied in? For instance, if I am a psychology graduate does that mean I can only work in the psychology field. And if I can work in any field does that affect my PR application?
Hi dear, PGWP holders may work for any job and any employer across Canada. It doesn’t necessarily need to be related to your education background. As long as you acquire a skilled job for at least a year, then you may be eligible for Express Entry afterwards. However some PNP programs may require you to work in the same area that you studied. So keeping it aligned may also help you qualify for more PR programs. Hope this answers your question! 🥰
You need to study full time in a DLI and that your program qualifies for PGWP. Starting on 1st September 2023, Quebec will stop issuing PGWP to graduates of private unsubsidized institutions; there are 48 such institutions.
Hey I have one question how am I gonna be able to obtain the completion letter from the university is it like do I have to write an application or just simply ask them?
Your study permit will expire soon after you complete your program. So check to make sure that you have legal status before you come back to Canada. If not, then you will have to wait for your PGWP to be approved.
Thank you so much Ms. @@rrdancel, naliwanagan na ako☺️😊 Please make successful videos of students na naging PR kahit yung job nila hindi in line sa mga tinapos nilang course dito sa Canada😊y

I was a bit confused about the timeframe of the PGWP approval because the study permit is only valid for 1 year right? The how were you able to work 1 year plus 90 days? Thank you

Hi , i studied one year program and its ginished august, but i took another program in January, i got study permit and coop workpermit for until Nov 2024. but due to some personal reasons i drop the program , so now can I apply for PGWP ?
Thanks for the information but I have a few questions: 1. after the theoretical part of my program finishes by Xmas, then from Jan-May is my on the job training; can this time period be counted towards my points in getting PR? 2. Upon receiving my final grades and a letter of completion(2 yr prog) from my DLI school, would the Provincial Government hire me to work immediately due to the fact that my skills are desperately needed? 3. Would I be paid a salary under the PGWP time frame or do I work just to secure points?
Hi Rach, can you clarify whether we can sit for online classes while residing in a different province? Also, do they offer pgwp for students who take online classes?
Physically you can live in another province to take online classes. However, there may be issues later on with your PGWP. Please read IRCC's policy with the link provided below. www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/after-graduation/eligibility.html#outside-dl
It’s very likely the case as per IRCC’s website: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/post-graduation-work-permit-program/permit.html But let’s hope the IRCC officer is feeling generous on their decision day 😝
Hi Rachel... Thanks for such detailed video. I still need some clarity on the below point. The course I'm planning for is a one year program and what if I immediately join another one year program either at same college or another college, will I be eligible for three year valid visa or only two years?
Hi Johnney, The immigration officer has discretion to grant you the length for your PGWP. The guide tells the officer that if the applicant took more than one program, the PGWP should be granted for the length of both those programs combined. it would make sense to me to take a course that you could stay in Canada with and get a job ,example the medical field , accounting, social work , Teacher what ever your interest is in ,
Plus if you get as an example a nursing degree in Canada , Teachers degree ,and many other degrees it is a lot easier to get a job in the States if desired.
@@rrdancel so let's say the program I'm looking at has an internship towards the end, could I continue to work with that company after graduation (assuming they still want to keep me around)? Hello I have received offer letter from evergreen college which is one year program and this college doesn't offer PGWP But after one year I take another 1 year course in other college which provides PGWP So is it apply or not in the PGWP ? Is it good to take this college admission or not ?
Hi! i love your videos, great content. please i want to ask an important question. I will soon be issued 3 years post graduate work permit after my completion of a 2 yrs diploma in Canada, so i’ve already applied for a job but i want to apply for a bachelor’s degree in a few months time and also study part time. so i can be working and studying part time. The first question is 1. Will i be allowed to study part time on a post graduate work permit visa? 2. Do i need to apply for a study visa again as i’m going to be here for at least 3 years?
How will you submit your final marks/transcript and letter of completion if you are still in the final semester of your school, for the application of PGWP? TY
I requested for a temporary transcript and a letter from my school confirming I am in good standing for graduation. So that’s the document I submitted to BCIT, which they accepted but I had to follow up my official transcript and degree later on... you may have to ask your chosen school if this is acceptable for program entry - as each school may have different requirements 👍😊 hope that helps!
Hi Rachel!!! I really love your contents! They’re extremely informative! Just wanna ask if I took a program for 8 months or less than 2 years, then I only get 1 yr PGWP right? So how am I going to apply for PR? is it okay to apply for PR if I only have a 1 yr work experience in canada? And if my PR got approved, can I continue working in Canada even without the PGWP? I hope I get answers for this. Thanks!
And also you mentioned you only studied in Canada for a year? and u got an ITA and just recently, I’ve seen your video that u’ve already gotten your PR approved. How was that possible? I thought at least 3 years of working experience in canada before we can apply for PR? thanks in advance for answers! 😊
The length of your PGWP depends on the length of your program. Generally, studying 8 months to less than 2 years will get you the same length. And studying 2 years or more will get you a 3-year PGWP. Applying for PR via Express Entry is another uphill battle. It‘s a points-based system that gives you a score based on your profile. And even when you qualify, you need to get invited by IRCC to apply for PR. So I can’t really say if PR is in someone’s horizon bc everyone has a unique background.
I met the min requirements for Express Entry and fortunately got invited for PR due to the circumstances (COVID + good timing of things). Some people take longer to get PR and some get it sooner, but again it’s a mixed bag for everyone 🤗❤️
Preferably apply within the 180 days. It’s gonna be a logistical headache if you go past this. I suggest apply right away when you meet eligibility. The sooner you make a PGWP application, you can at least work full-time while waiting for a decision.
PGWP does not depend on whether your program is co-op or not. PGWP depends on whether your program is PGWP-eligible. Have you already been accepted into the program? If not, please send me an email to rrdancel@canxvisa.com. You can tell me the program name and the school.
Hi, thank you very much for your content. ☺️ If I may I ask, is it necessary to have a job that is inclined to your program when you have the PWGP? what happens if the job you have is not inclined to the program that you graduated in? Thank you.
Can I work anywhere, in any type of job, under the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program? The post-graduation work permit is an open work permit. This means that you can work in any occupation anywhere in Canada, and change employers any time you wish. Note: You may not work for an employer on the ineligible employers list.
Hi. just to clear . so the 1 year validity of pgwp starts after i get the approval of the open work permit for pgwp. so basically i can work in any company in canada for 1 year ?
Hi dear, since a PGWP is a type of open work permit - you don’t need to have an employer to be eligible for one 😊 But it is important to start working while having it so the work counts towards Express Entry (if you have long term goals in Canada) Hope this helps! 🥰
If you apply for Express Entry (EE), You need a job that will give you higher CRS score. In the old system, it is NOC 0, A, B, C, and D. Starting on 16th Nov 2022, it is TEER 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. You need a job in TEER 0, 1, 2, and 3.
Hi Rachel. Can a graduate apply for a job in a different province? Example: graduated in Calgary, filed the PGWP with current employer in Calgary. Once the PGWP has been approved can the student move to Ontario to work there? What are the restrictions for PGWP?
Hi Kat, Yes. A PGWP is an open work permit. Meaning you can work anywhere in Canada for any employer. There are generally no restrictions. But, please follow any conditions imposed on your PGWP. Hope that helps 😊
I'm finishing my 1 year program this August. I have a question, hopefully I'll get some guidance here. I'm currently working as a part time, I read that you need to stop working after completing your studies, however I don't know the exact moment when I need to stop doing it. I'll be applying for the PGWP once getting the transcripts and the confirmation letter of graduation. But still, I'm worried of breaking any rule that could put me under any violation.

Hello ate for example, ako ung course ko e 2 years when is the best time to apply PGWP? since may validity ung pgwp?
Hi Rach, can you clarify whether we can sit for online classes while residing in a different province? Also, do they offer pgwp for students who take online classes?
Physically you can live in another province to take online classes. However, there may be issues later on with your PGWP. Please read IRCC's policy with the link provided below.

I have submitted all my documentary for PGWP CAN i start working now?
Hi dear, thanks for the content.
Please how many years PGWP can a person who used 18months to do a one year program get?
Most likely 1 year.
@@rrdancel Thank you verymuch, I appreciate. But what if I decide to extend the one year program to years by not taking all the courses in one year?
I’m going to study for 1 and a half year program in Montreal, does that mean I’m getting a 18 months of PGWP?
It’s very likely the case as per IRCC’s website:
www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/post-graduation-work-permit-program/permit.html
But let’s hope the IRCC officer is feeling generous on their decision day 😝
You so funny! Loved it
Hi Rachel... Thanks for such detailed video. I still need some clarity on the below point. The course I'm planning for is a one year program and what if I immediately join another one year program either at same college or another college, will I be eligible for three year valid visa or only two years?
Hi Johnney,
The immigration officer has discretion to grant you the length for your PGWP. The guide tells the officer that if the applicant took more than one program, the PGWP should be granted for the length of both those programs combined.
Here is the link: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/post-graduation-work-permit-program/permit.html#determining
Hope that helps. 😊
Any videos on how to apply for work permit after finishing 2 8 month courses in 2 different colleges???
No not yet but thanks for dropping off a suggestion :)
hi what if the school is not providing PGWP yet we can apply for it ?
Unfortunately, you won’t be approved as the program is not eligible.
Hi... When pgwp expire in what status should we stay in Canada until we get ITA
Or did u leave the country after ur pgwp?
Personally, i stayed on a visitor bc I didn’t qualify for a Bridging Open work permit nor any other work permit for that matter.
I explained all my options and the reasons I resorted to visitor status found here: ua-cam.com/video/LDAxVjMCE-Q/v-deo.html
Hope that helps!
Hi! Thanks for the informative contents!may i ask if you do have an idea regarding taking your pgwp in a different province?is it possible to have your pqwp lets say in Manitoba but i studied in ontario. Thanks!
Hi Rachel I have one query what if I have 9 months of skilled work exp but my work permit is about to expire in a month ..in that case what should I do
Hi rachel, All in all u said you spent 14,000 CAD dollar for schools only and not included your personal expenses?
Yes, that’s just my tuition 😩
Very informative
Thank you 🙏☺️
Do like your Chanel, Rachel
Thank you so much 🥰
Good explanation
Maybe its you that understood it easily? Thank you for watching
can i do two post grad qualification one after the other and say i have two years of studying experience in canada? and get the 3 year PGWP?
Yes! Definitely
it would make sense to me to take a course that you could stay in Canada with and get a job ,example the medical field , accounting, social work , Teacher what ever your interest is in ,
Yes, that’s a good way to put it. It’s always best if your career align with the studies you took in Canada. 😊👍
Plus if you get as an example a nursing degree in Canada , Teachers degree ,and many other degrees it is a lot easier to get a job in the States if desired.
Hi love your videos, if you choose a co-oo option will you still be eligibility for pgwp?
Yes some co-op programs are PGWP-eligible 😊👍
What if your program has an internship included? What to do then?
It may still be PGWP eligible and the same process goes after program completion. 😊
@@rrdancel so let's say the program I'm looking at has an internship towards the end, could I continue to work with that company after graduation (assuming they still want to keep me around)?
To put it another way, after my internship would I have to wait till I get PGWP to continue working after my internship finishes
Hi! If I am on student visa in a state such as Saskatchewan can I apply for PGWP to another state in Canada?
Yes you can. PGWP will allow you to work anywhere in Canada.
Hello
I have received offer letter from evergreen college which is one year program and this college doesn't offer PGWP
But after one year I take another 1 year course in other college which provides PGWP
So is it apply or not in the PGWP ?
Is it good to take this college admission or not ?
For some that’s going to take a 2 year course, is it advisable to apply on the second year of schooling for pgwp?
Probably yes, bec the eligibility is after your program completion to be qualify
Hi, how to extend my spouse's open work permit after my study permit expires?
Its best to get legal help with your situation.
Hi! i love your videos, great content. please i want to ask an important question.
I will soon be issued 3 years post graduate work permit after my completion of a 2 yrs diploma in Canada, so i’ve already applied for a job but i want to apply for a bachelor’s degree in a few months time and also study part time. so i can be working and studying part time.
The first question is
1. Will i be allowed to study part time on a post graduate work permit visa?
2. Do i need to apply for a study visa again as i’m going to be here for at least 3 years?
Can studying for a year as a transfer student, get you a PGWP ?.
When you graduate as a transfer student, you graduate with a 4 year degree, from the school you transferred to as if you studied for the 4 years.
HI.
Please answer my question. If I study two programs of 1-year post-graduation diploma (Combined) how long will be my PGWP?
@@rrdancel so if I got my PR approved, is that mean I can work already in canada without any work permits?
So doing 1year course, getting 1 pgwp is enough to get pr??
Hello Rachel! Is it possible to move to another province during PGWP? Can we possibly acquire PNP from another province? Thank you!
It says you have 180 days to apply for PGWP, is it okay to apply after 180 days?
Preferably apply within the 180 days. It’s gonna be a logistical headache if you go past this. I suggest apply right away when you meet eligibility. The sooner you make a PGWP application, you can at least work full-time while waiting for a decision.
Hi. If ever you're not eligible for PGWP, can you apply for Temporary work permit before your student visa expires? Hoping for your answer. God bless!
Please answer my question.
If my program doesn't have any co op
then will I be eligible for PGWP ?
PGWP does not depend on whether your program is co-op or not. PGWP depends on whether your program is PGWP-eligible. Have you already been accepted into the program? If not, please send me an email to rrdancel@canxvisa.com. You can tell me the program name and the school.
Hi, thank you very much for your content. ☺️ If I may I ask, is it necessary to have a job that is inclined to your program when you have the PWGP? what happens if the job you have is not inclined to the program that you graduated in? Thank you.
👍
Can I work anywhere, in any type of job, under the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program?
The post-graduation work permit is an open work permit. This means that you can work in any occupation anywhere in Canada, and change employers any time you wish.
Note: You may not work for an employer on the ineligible employers list.
Can I work And study in Canada as an international student?
Does an internship on a PGWP count as professional work experience?
Was it skilled NOC level, paid and continuous?
Hi. just to clear . so the 1 year validity of pgwp starts after i get the approval of the open work permit for pgwp. so basically i can work in any company in canada for 1 year ?
Technically, you can work after you submit your PGWP application and before approval. Make sure you meet all eligibility prior to doing submission.
Do I need police certificate for work permit? Please
Hi Rachel, My study permit will expire by Nov 30, 2021. but my study will not be completed till Dec 30. Do I have to extend my study permit first?
Yes you do!
Hi, I just want to ask if having an employer is one of the requirements to apply for PGWP?
Hi dear, since a PGWP is a type of open work permit - you don’t need to have an employer to be eligible for one 😊
But it is important to start working while having it so the work counts towards Express Entry (if you have long term goals in Canada)
Hope this helps!
Hi Kat,
Yes. A PGWP is an open work permit. Meaning you can work anywhere in Canada for any employer. There are generally no restrictions. But, please follow any conditions imposed on your PGWP.
Hope that helps 😊
Thank you, Rachel. You are very helpful! Stay safe and well. 😊
Hi Rachel, Can I visit my Home Country and come back to Canada after receiving my PGWP?
Hi. What will happen to the open work permit of the spouse after the student visa expires? Will it be extended until the PGWP expires?
I'm finishing my 1 year program this August. I have a question, hopefully I'll get some guidance here.
I'm currently working as a part time, I read that you need to stop working after completing your studies, however I don't know the exact moment when I need to stop doing it. I'll be applying for the PGWP once getting the transcripts and the confirmation letter of graduation.
But still, I'm worried of breaking any rule that could put me under any violation.
Yes, you will have to stop working immediately. Please read on the PGWP eligibility requirements.
@@rrdancel wow thank you! I really appreciate it
Hi Rachel, appreciate all your helpful videos. Thank you so much. I just have 1 question, once I get a PGWP, can I work full time in other regions of Canada regardless of the region/city I studied from? Thanks in advance.
