    Thanks for these vids about pressure point strikes. With many dojos or academies, the student is not taught these points until some time in the black belt degrees.

    Practicing with those rubber "bob" dummies lets you hit the targets without hurting a live person-

      It's situational. If you're pushed from behind and spill coffee one someone who then takes a swing at you, that's a TOTALLY different situation from being jumped by a guy in a parking lot which again is different than if it's 2 or more guys who are armed and intent on doing you harm. The violence you employ must be reasonable and proportional to the situation, otherwise you might end up in jail. If the matter comes to court, the court will also consider your situation - are you a fit young soldier? Very small or very old? Are your children with you so that you're unable to run away? All these factors weigh in to the decision of the level of violence you employ.

      @@rabranch32 you dont need to write a book when you coulda just say 'proportional'. Unfortunately so many clueless egotistical ninjas out there they treat a 'good talking to'to being a fire alarm house fire. Worst when they learn a martial art it just gives em license to be a bigger tool

    Come on you can't just push down someone's defence. His defence must be worse than France's in WW2

      Iasonas Panetas The idea is understanding the techniques so if an opportunity arises where you can break someones defense, that can be utilized.

      TheKinkyTwinkie yeah.. And I train light sabre techniques for when they happen. He even says in the video (paraphrasing) "don't purposely miss because you will in real life" then he slaps away the guard with zero resistance.

    • @N8DulcimerOld
      @N8DulcimerOld 9 років тому +1

      Manic Demise All it takes is a really good jab to the nose to give you a perfect opportunity to lower someone's guard.

      Iasonas Panetas ive done it in sparing. i use my jab hand to knock/pull the other guys jab hand away from his face then i throw a right hook. works pretty good

      +Brian Clark Another thing I've used is faking a thrust punch to the abdomen, then when his arm drops, hit him in the face and either follow it up with a jab/cross or disengage.

    Jew Jitsu. Dangerous stuff. It's like a Scientist dissecting a frog. People are just big, fragile bags of fluid, walking around,
