I worked as a mechanic for a start up bike company and we sourced our frames from Taiwan and it works like this: Chinese or Taiwanese manufacturers buy licences for the outgoing frame designs of leading brands so they don't have to spend on research and development or they manufactured the frames for the brand in the first place and get permission to sell it to third parties. So it could be the same frame.

on carbon frames or droppers you usually want a normal seat collar not a quick release cause with the quick release you can over tighten it . also some carbon mounting paste is unusally recommended

In my experience, pretty much all carbon frames come from the same few places from Asia and the quality of all of them has gotten better and better over the last ten years. Still, they occasionally fail. That's just the risk of running carbon. But in my experience it can happen to the nicest Yeti or the crappiest Ican. I don't have quantitative data. Couple of questions.... 1. Why did you use carbon paste on aluminum to aluminum steerer/stem but not on the carbon seat post? 2. Why an expansion plug instead of a star nut (unless you just wanted the option to remove it)? 3. Why didn't you install the preload nut on the crank? Also, I saw several instance where you used the torque wrench but kept turning the wrench after the click. Be careful about that. You an easily over torque things and damage the threads.
Great video. I just received my Ican/Imust P1 frame. What is the size of rear shock mountain hardware you used with the rockshox? I got the DVO Topaz T3 and just realized the piggy back reservoir hits the downtube at compression :/ I’ll have to get different shock. I noticed the mountain hardware size on Ican website is totally incorrect

true but really reliable and to fix stuff is mor anoying than heavy stuff

Zees actually are pretty reasonably light and go on sale more often than for example gx cranks which are really light for the price.
