Great videos! I came here from PalmTalk and now I’m a subscriber. I’m up the road in Manteca, so almost identical climate. How much growth do you get? I am getting about 5 fronds per year from my seedlings (still in pots) over the summer, and no growth over the winter months. Is this what you see or should I change things up? Thanks!

It may be alright for a few years there but eventually it will die. We here in Guilford are a Subtropical oceanic dessert so I have a potted palm. There are subtropical islands off the coast of England that have massive king palms You will need to protect that one.

Jeff, is there 1 key in keeping your palms healthy in our valley? Like, how do you keep the king palm from burning in the summer sun? Do you just make sure it is heavily watered prior and during he hottest months? Or is there more to it? Please don’t be modest. 😉

41f won’t hurt a king palm, actually 32f is fine.
