Oh come on, you know there’s a whole bunch of grumpy people out there who can buzz kill whatever high you happen to be riding. But positive people will always find joy and laughter in these people’s persistent negative view of the world Because it is so absurd. Case in point: ua-cam.com/video/TfE93xON8jk/v-deo.html
These are so beautiful. I have 4 majesty palms, and 4 areca palms here in Bakersfield. I had a majesty palm in San Francisco for 4 years now and when I moved here to Bakersfield in 2020, I couldn’t resist taking advantage of the much warmer climate. How do you think these will hold in my area?
The Majesty palms should do pretty well if you keep them out of strong wind, water and fertilize them heavily. The Areca may be tougher to get to thrive. i'd love to see it happen though so if they take off let me know and send pics
How are these king palms. Very beautiful trees. Did you plant when they were small? When they were small how often did you water them and did you put any fertilizer?
the leaves look yellowish. I don't think that's totally healthy...
It could be the way the camera shows it
Not so much an issue of growing zone, more so nutrient diffenceny if anything
I cant get my seeds to germinate. Where did you get yours?
Lowes has them!
@@mgzorro1 yes Lowes carries them now. I just but three in a pot for $89.
@@mgzorro1 In what city is the Lowes you are referring to?
How fast do these grow? I live 4 miles from the coast in Santa Cruz California.
1’ per year. They should grow well where you are

How about global warming makes king palm grow in northern Cali?
I have healthy 35 year old King palms in my Northern CA yard. The temperatures here have always been good for Archontophoenix.
Are they archontophoenix alexandre or cunninghamiana...?
You can’t have enough palms in my book, beautiful home and kings.
i bet those are double its size now just in 4 years

Northern California king palm
You can plant King Palm in the Bay Area. It's just that there will be a hard freeze one fine winter, and that will be the end of them. Just sayin'. :>
They're tougher than you think. Maximas will survive a freeze down to 26f, but with frond damage.
