@@legobrickabrac Is it really tho? I see a LOT of LEGO reviewers complaining about OvErSiZeD vehicles and not understanding that minifig proportions are not the same as human proportions. It irritates me honestly.
@@pink_ice9454 A 6 stud wide suv car or a truck is the right size for Lego minifig but they would only be about 4ft tall people. If you have one of those big Lego alarm clocks and Lego ccbs starwars figure side by side then then the ridiculous proportions of Minifigs is obvius.

I'm not a car person, but I'd consider buying the challenger if it was sold seperately. I like purple, and if I ever saw it on sale, I'd be mighty tempted
I thought the same thing but after I built it and spent time appreciating them the dragster quickly became one of my favorites from this years series

Quite a few of the Speed Champion two pack sets really annoy me, there are quite a few speed champions cars that I want to have but are in a two pack with another car I don't want to have.
@@Tech_Marauder YES, why do they need to put multiple cars in the same set so if you only want one you need to either pay for two or go buy they single car from E Bay or something of that sort, it is really annoying.
This set makes no sense
The Challenger should be a stand alone set and give us 2 Dragsters with a starting gate area.
I actually really liked this as a two-pack - the dragster seems a little bit too far outside the regular Speed Champions range to imagine appearing as a set by itself, but I'm glad to have it. Supercars are all very well but I appreciate the variety we're getting, and I'd love to see even more vehicles from all over the 'goes real fast' spectrum.
i agree with this entirely, it inflates the price of the set by a decent amount, but it’s not a pointless addition like the side builds in the other sets. any challenger or mopar fan will happily enjoy this set as a collector piece. the only better way they could have done this set is to have the 1970 challenger and a 2008-2021+ challenger, to have the new and the old

@@Cobra_1967 I have concerns that the word 'Speed' might spontaneously burn itself off the boxes like on the crate the ark of the covenant was in (although now that you mention it I've started thinking about MOCing a P50 just for giggles). But in all seriousness I hope we get a lot more variety, like the Challenger and the Stingray, that big Bronco, the Mini Cooper from the old range - a proper 'history of cool cars' right back to 20s Grand Prix racers, with all sorts of tangents (like the dragster) into cars that were cool for whatever reason, whether it's performance or just they were popular or that James Bond drove one.
The € price is down right ridiculous. 50$ are around 41€. The set costs 60€. That’s honestly not even fair. I usually don’t have a problem when a set is 40$ and simultaneously 40€, or 30$ and 30€. But that 20€ gap ist just not fair.

Yeah tell me about it... $80 NZD for this set.. Yeah nah I'll pass on that one! Just got the Corvette pack for $63, and I thought that was bad. This dodge set in comparison made that $63 seem decent...
From now on I'm going to start calling top fuel dragsters "long furby cars". And I agree, the rear wheel size is egregious, makes it look like a turbine dragster as those don't need big wheels for traction sinze the thrust of the engine provides the movement of the car.
tbh i would replace with a technic wheel, at least it would be correctly sized
I wish they would have done Challenger with the Dodge TRX truck and trailer. Similar to what they did with 75875 with the Ford Raptor.

The UK price is rough, the Euro price is INSANE. I hope LEGO sales suffer when they get obnoxiously greedy like this.
I believe Jang has addressed this multiple times previously. It's just that US customers aren't willing to pay as much as the European customers are. It's like you have different price tags on steam in different region.
@@jkliao6486 I don't agree with Jang on that to be honest in My oppion it's due to distribution and stock supply across USA in all 50 states and setting a price rrp that a base line cost.
Over here in NZ it's around $80... Just like the bronco and GT pack. Expensive!

It costs Lego more to ship goods to 50 separate country's all with there own good laws vs 50 states of USA which follow the same goods and sniping laws and costs nation wide. Jangs wrong on saying it's because Americans won't pay more as it's got nothing to do with it.

Yeah those long stickers that need to be aligned right for the dragster to look good... I'm already breaking out in cold sweats.

Looks like it could be easily modified into a black xwing, lol! Rear tires are a little smaller than they should be I think...
Just slap some wings on that puppy and it is ready to fly, lol.
The two question marks next to the 60€ price tag is exactly what I thought when I saw it in stores. I bought all the other ones that the store had but especially with my lack of interest in drag racing I did not get that pack at that price. At 50 I might have considered it, at 40 (which seems a little unrealistic) I would definitely get it. But 60?? That's ridiculous.
Those dragster wheels needed to be about 50% taller. Do they have any wheels that size that aren't also way way wider?
there is the bigger rubber wheel that goes around the same rim maybe that would be good
It may be out of the scope of this video series, but it would have been nice if Jang held up a more appropriate sized wheel for comparison, or even swapped them out
the technic senna gtr rear wheels look 10x better on the dragster

Kinda surprising that LEGO included the 1320 stickers, considering it's the street racing brand. Would have figured LEGO wouldn't like that, but cool set still.
Just having built this I think the Challenger is my favorite out all the vehicles built thus far from this wave. The build techniques throughout are almost creator Expert tier only at an 8 wide scale. The dragster Imo is fine for what it is, the proportions close enough save for for the rear tires which needed to be significantly bigger. As a display model though I'm fine with it. Just need to build the the Ford GT/Bronco now.
We should have gotten a RAM TRX or a Dodge Hellcat Redeye instead of the Top Fuel Dragster

I just built this set - I agree that the dragster could have been done better - but the Challenger? I think it's absolutely perfect. It's a lesson in building techniques to almost any builder at all out there, even if it doesn't have the most out there angles on the visible outside. As overpriced as it is, I am still inclined to say that it is worth its value. If you have a close look at the dragster on the back of the box though, you will see that even the front wheels of the dragster are too small.

I like the Challenger well enough, and have zero interest in the dragster. I will probably still grab this set, because I am an addict.
I'm not really into Speed champions, but these look pretty cool, especially the dragster. That price though, that's deep.

Your Speed Champions videos have got me on a LEGO car fix. I might pick up a two-pack of them, and I don’t even like cars all that much! These and the Creator reviews have got me REALLY excited for the Tumbler coming later this year.

These speed champions two pack overall have been looking pretty good, for being made out of lego they (mostly) look like they are supposed to which is great

LEGO drives me crazy with Speed Champions. Because, I exclusively will collect the classic cars... And they almost ALWAYS package the classic cars in a two pack while making the stand alone $20 sets newer vehicles, which I will collect some of those as well. But, this is such a pain in my rear. I'd live to see more classic imports, exotics, and muscle cars packaged separately.

Man, what is it with Lego Speed Champions Sets that include two Dodge cars having the longest names of any Lego sets ever made.😅 I love that they chose Purple though. It's an under rated color for Muscle Cars and it's probably a little reference to the most recent Fast and Furious movie that John Cena was in. I'd love to see them make a Chevy Plymouth Barracuda in bright neon green and a Chevy Cougar in bright neon orange to be put next to this purple Challenger.
could they not have used the tyres from the City dragster set 60151? seems more appropriate size wise
Yeah I have that set, those rims would've suited. But the tires are way too low profile though. Maybe put on some decent tread with the rim, and that would've been perfect!
Btw, the camera doesn't do the scale of the top fuel car justice... because in terms of height, it's the second tallest full build that I've done (my tallest full build was the Wonder Woman 1984 set) but it is the longest
Edit: basically the only reasons why you'd want to pick up this set is it's on sale, or you're a huge Mopar fan... or you're a completionist and have to get the entire line for the year, which means you have the Ford, Corvette, Toyota, McLaren and Koenigsegg sets as well. Also you have to commend Lego for always attempting to provide some sort of variety

For me, the 1970 challenger is yes yes yes! But the dragster is no no no! I'm just not a big fan of dragsters in general, so I might not be the target audience here. But I still really like and want the challenger though

When it comes to scaling mini figs to real life you have to make a decision and base the scaling on their height or their width. No matter what you choose it will be off. But in terms of practicality it’s best to choose width because it allows you to do more such as insert two mini figures side by side in a car

I don’t understand these prices for speed champions 2 packs especially in Australia. There’s a price range of $60-$90 AUD with 10% GST VAT.
I can understand $54 + $5.4 VAT rounded up to $60 AUD. What I can’t understand is $82 + $8.2 VAT rounded down to $90 AUD. I know LEGO is projecting the popularity of sets and increasing the prices of popular sets but come on. If single packs in Australia are $24 + $2.4 VAT rounded up to $27, 2 packs should cost $60 AUD including the VAT.
My biggest gripe with the prices is LEGO project’s popularity of 2 packs but they disregarded projecting popularity of single packs

Have to agree here. The Top Fuel dragster doesn't really fit my display, and is not good enough for me to try to make it work. So despite wanting the Challenger, I'm not getting the set at all because of the dragster.
It looks like it is, but just to confirm, the stickers for the Challenger is clearback/transparent right?
After a quick image search for 'top fuel dragster' I can't fathom why they used wheels that are literally half the size they should be. Lego has Technic wheels that would work way better, so was this to cut costs?
Cost for this set is already insane.. At the expense, it wouldn't have matter if they were to slap on larger tires..make the set more overpriced! Why the hell not?
The top part of the nose on the drag racer moves when I lift it up. I don't remember if it did it when I built it a few months ago. Does anyone else have this problem? I've checked in the instructions and no pieces are in the wrong place and there are no faulty connections

Finally picked this up today, £35 on Amazon down from £50. I love the Speed Champions sets, but I feel most of them are a bit too overpriced now. Yes, they're good 8 wide vehicles with nice parts, but just two cars for £50ish feels poor.
Hey jang great video my only .dislike part of this set was why are the dragster tires so small compared to other vehicles or compared to the technic set dragster (lime.green car) why so small the bronco R tires are bigger then the mopar dragster 😅
Also they forgot to add a wheelie bar like they did with the technic version

Anyone else noticed lego put the dodge logo in the wrong place on the dragster? It's supposed to go on the front not the wing but in the instructions and on legos promotional material it is on the rear

I like this channel A LOT because it gives me a close AND detailed thorough review of the LEGO bricks I will buy later. Congratulations to any men, woman or child who gets the set. Oh man, just had the box in my hands and I can tell you all it is GREAT. The only set back as usual are the damned stickers 🙄 But the colors, details, and everything are awesome. Completely recommended and a must buy IMHO. Did not spend the money because reasons, but maybe in the future, I will fall into another temptation 😈

The dodge is really well put together i believe,why you are not that happy with it? Its really amazing what they accomplice with lego pieces right there i believe.Of course there is always the possibility to be better but i believe with this one they nailed it really good!
