I am an old man (72years) and love cycling. The commentary and videos from Niels are the best I have seen- I just love them and watch parts just about every night. What I would really appreciate is the list of the music. Fits the videos so well _ excited for you Niels keep up the great work😃
Especially in Sweden and Finland. Norway has a lot of shelters as well, but they are usually paid, while in Sweden and Finland they are free for anyone
You take a lot of adventurous routes. To those bicycle travellers that prefer pavement, Finland is absolutely fantastic since you can ride anywhere on any road even without a map. There are really no roadblocks or deadends like the tunnels in Norway, too tight or gated roads in Sweden and you usually have multiple good road options. It's as easy as cycling in denmark, with less traffic and much more mosquitos.
Terrific video again mate....👍🏽 We just got back from a short 5 night tour here in Victoria and the flys and mosquito were very bad at times, luckily we had our head nets....👍🏽👍🏽 best $10 investment ever and packs down to 30mm X 20mm 10g. Bloody Mosquito's....!
Great music, aerial footage and very professionally put together! Also it pays to know what berries and mushrooms 🍄to pick so you don't get poisoned! Lol! The best cycling video I've seen yet.
Another great video and presentation Niels... Finnish mustiques my god they're determined. I estimated that every time I stopped while cyling south down Finland between 50 and 200 would instantly swarm in my ears, nose, eyes, mouth and any exposed flesh. They bit through 2 layers of light woollen tops or cycling jumper plus a top. Even worse that Milford Sound I think in South Island NZ. Finland might be the capital, but I think Siberia and Alaska would challenge for top spot. Hope you're going well in Africa :)
I found myself thinking I'd care to see more interactions (time spent off the bike) but am ultimately really appreciative of your less is more approach. It really sums up the vastness of the landscapes and the simplicity of the road. Good on you. I'm about to embark on route through the Maritimes of eastern Canada and your video was a welcomed break from all the research. If I may ask, how much time do you put in to planning your routes? How much of it is just sort of figured out in real time? Cheers in advance!
About 80% of the route I figure out on the go. I don't plan much, which is one of the reasons why it's difficult to film social interactions. These often require a little bit of planning
Great video! I have always wanted to cycle in Finland, but the mosquitos put me off - were they bad in the south of the country? I always get bitten by them - they seem to like me too much!
The mosquitoes were a real nightmare in Lapland, but once I got south of Rovaniemi (which is on the polar circle) they were more or less gone. Usually I never get bitten by mosquitoes, so I did not really worry about it at first. But this was a totally different experience!
As a finn I can say they are worst in the north. They are also really small in the south so with a little wind you won't get distracted by them. And when you are cycling they won't keep up with your pace. You can use mosquito spray to keep them away from you when not moving. It doesn't keep them all away but most of them. In the northern wilderness that may not work as they are more aggressive there. And they don't carry any diseases so no need to worry about that. They are annoying but you get used to them. It's also an option to visit Finland in more cooler months as they are alive only for the hottest months in the summer.
Finland held a World championship on a sport thats like "Mosquito sit". The winner was the one that endured to sit the longest, without moving with trillions of mosquitos... As stupid of a sport as "Wife carrying" throwing a mobile phone" and "Sauna sitting"... Finns have to make a sport otof everything 😊
Thank you for taking me, Bernhard
Excellent video Niels!! Its really inspiring to watch! You have so much positive energy. Your shots and the music are very good! Thanks!😀
greetins from finland and thank you very very much

Blueberries and mushrooms ARE superfoods!
The shelters system in these three countries is excellent
Especially in Sweden and Finland. Norway has a lot of shelters as well, but they are usually paid, while in Sweden and Finland they are free for anyone
@@cyclingaroundtheplanet How do you find the shelters?
@@cyclingaroundtheplanet Are these huts on the map?
these teepees in finland are called "kota" 😊
What a lovely and inspirational video! Keep up the great work. Martin (don't know why it shows me as Ekaterina!)
Thanks for the beautiful tour and commentary. You're efforts are much appreciated. Amazing.
Beautiful land 👍👍👍❤❤❤❤
Too good Man , awesome. I wish one day I could also ride my bicycle on roads like these with no traffic around

I was thinking the same thing. The music matches the video footage perfectly.
