Love Nigel! I can see the extended roof height, but did you say the length is extended as well? I have trouble seeing the difference when I look online. I’m guessing the wheelbase remains the same at 148, but I can’t see the extra 2 feet or so you mentioned. Can you help me out please. Also what’s it like parking? Many thanks. Looking forward to seeing your adventures.
Thank you so much. Yes it is the extended length. Number to bumper is 22 feet. And it is 9’ 8” high with the fan. It is actually pretty easy to park especially with all the cameras on it.
Almost a perfect fit. Just a very minor trim near the sliding door. Bedrug VanTred | Fits 2015 - 2024... www.amazon.com/dp/B0108JUWZ0?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
We took delivery the last week of January 2024. Of course there may have been lots of supply chain issues that may now be resolved. Our local dealership actually received another trail transit and maybe 3 or 4 other transit 350s about the same time.
The van is brand new and need some break in. That said, it is currently getting about 15 MPG, probably 60/40 highway/city, and of course it is empty. I had an expedition for a few years and in the early days I would get upper teens in mpg on the highway and when I traded it in it had 53k miles and would get 21 mpg on highway travel. They have the same engine but, the van is obviously a lot less aerodynamic. I’ll for sure keep updating the mpg info. as time goes by.
Thanks for the fast answer !! I have been looking for a van for a while and If I get one have to be a Ford Transit. Wish you the best with your build!!!
Hello Hello I got the Transit Trail in my drive way now !!!🎉🎉🎉 Now we are in the same boat trying to figurout our best options to build this awesome van!! . Quick question I notice that the 3rd high mount brake light is on all the time during the night. When I press the brake only the 2 side tail light bright more at night and the high mount brake light it just on with 3 LED. May you check if the high mount brake light on your van is brighter when you press the brake or it just on all the time? @@goldenadventurers
Congratulations!! We absolutely love our van. I do drive it in Eco mode most of the time in an effort to get better mpg. Not sure if it is working. We absolutely love our van and I’m sure you will too. Mine does the same. Maybe it is just a running light up there and not brake lights.
It is the high roof. We test drove a mid roof and while it was tall enough for us to stand, we wanted to make sure we had roof to sit up straight comfortably on our bed.
@@mikelabree absolutely! The van is 76 inches floor to middle of the roof. Obviously it is slightly curved down on the edges. I think we will be “loosing” about 3.75 inches total with our floor and the ceiling. So it would be close for you in our van.
Congratulations wishing you great success 🎉
Thank you so much!!

Thanks for all the info. Does it lock in to the raised ribs of the metal floor or just lay over?@@goldenadventurers
@@ethanryder100yes it is designed to fit down in the space between the ribs. The top is flat.
Understand that you ordered in November of 2022 - when did you take delivery please? My dealer is telling me 12 weeks. Realistic?

Is that a Mid Roof? I think this might be the way I go, I love the way it looks.
