Nice
Ah, honestly with reviews like this, personally I'd really like to see:
- What the faculty specialisation looks like, and
- If there are courses that are particular to a university
For example (being in the WA region myself): Curtin is still the only university in the area that requires almost all of its first year programming courses to be familiar with the Linux terminal/shell. No other uni in the region does this. Might be an important piece of information for someone choosing CS, given that it seems to have the most rigorous program in the state. For math, UWA is the only uni that offers a unit on complex systems, and Curtin has literally no offerings for anything after calculus (like analysis, topology, measure theory, etc.) That's really the info. I wish I had. I know that's a fairly prohibitive thing to ask of one guy doing a review, but I really think this ought to be the fulcrum around which we are primarily comparing universities, rather than "campus", "uni-life", "exchange opportunities" that are prohibitive for financially struggling students, etc.
Yeah great point. It’s exactly why we’re building a whole platform for this stuff at choosingyouruni.com - to allow people to really dig into the things that matter to them, since a short review doesn’t have enough space to get to important specifics.
Please make a review video on university of wollongong, thank you

Great video!. looking forward to do masters in managemet, is RMIT better or unibelb/Monash?
Three excellent unis for that, each offering slightly different courses and options. I’d be pleased to have any of those on my resume.
Some students also came to our school centurion public school. Gemma,Andrew,Taylor
What did they have to say about it?
really love your content! I am An international student who moved to the United Kingdom for my studies. I study International business and was wondering out of the following universities, which one would you recommend:

3. RMIT university
4. James Cook University
For what degree? Or are you thinking an exchange?
Thankyou .. very nice review

Deciding on the best uni for communication and media studies. What’s your opinion on which to check out?
There are loads. You’ll need to narrow it down a bit first.
"Where as here you go one end and come out of another end and end up at the exact same spot" mmmmmm interesting from rmit
Not sure I understand?
Considering biomechanical engineering or aerospace class of 2022
Great!
How is master of communication design and master of advertising at RMIT?
Design and business disciplines are both strong at RMIT. The work integrated learning side of things is excellent too, so I think these would be safe choices.
Because I'm looking for Admission in New Castle uni....in Medical Engineering.
There's a possibility it might happen for August. Good choice on Newcastle for Med Engineering.
@@ChoosingYourUni Do you for it is the best choice.
Will choosing RMIT over UTS affect my job chances as an international?
It shouldn't.
What degree are you looking at doing.
Really great content, but I'm really confused between Rmit and Swinburne. Any suggestions ?
What are you looking to study?
Hi I'm planning on taking an undergraduate for osteopathy, and I'd like to hear your thoughts on which campus would be best for an international student. The three campuses I've narrowed down to are RMIT, SCU, and VU. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on which campus would be best, quality wise, budget wise, and over all the most awesome place to study in among the three. Thank you!
Oooooo you’ve touched a subject close to my heart with this one because I’ve had a fair bit to do with these osteo programs over the years.
So I’ve got a LOT to say about these programs!
Give me a couple of days and I’ll put together a specific video on this. It will be rough but there’s a lot to cover!
Sorry, I haven’t had a chance to do this yet so wanted to write a response.
There are only 3 osteo programs in Australia and all have their strengths in terms of both practice and research.
I’d suggest you have a serious look at SCU as a first choice.
My rationale is based on talking with practicing osteos. Class sizes are smaller at SCU. From what I’ve heard, class sizes at RMIT have also grown a LOT over the past few years.
Small class sizes mean more dedicated attention from teachers and more practical hands on experience.
From what I’ve heard, Melbourne is also pretty saturated with osteos, making it harder to build clientele afterwards.
I’ve visited many osteos over the years and I’ve found the SCU grads have a more rounded skill set - they can be mechanically strong, but also have a sensitivity, an ability to “feel”, that is less common in grads from elsewhere imo
If it were me (and believe me I’ve thought about being an osteo sometimes!) I’d go to SCU and then look to open a clinic somewhere outside the major capitals: the Sunshine Coast, Perth, Gold Coast etc.
Just my 2 cents though.
Is rmit a good option for environmental courses?
Yes. It has some strong programs in that area.
Should I study professional communication at Rmit? Please give me some advices. Thanks u😘
You’ll need to unpack that a bit as I don’t know you or your circumstances. What do you specifically want to know about?
I have completed my bachelor degree in mechanical engineering.
Does master in Automotive engineering worth at RMIT? I really need help. I have never heard of students in automotive sector at RMIT.
The automotive program at RMIT is one of the best in Oz from what I know. I guess it's an interesting degree since we don't actually build cars in Australia anymore....
This is the sort of area where I believe it's an advantage if you can add some sort of extra specialisation. For example, if you're doing automotive engineering, also having some idea about sustainability and electric vehicles (although that's probably covered off in courses these days). But also things like IOT (internet of things) or even cybersecurity. All of these systems need to be secured into the future.
Basically the more unique your skill set, the more likely it is that you get picked up for a job because your exact skill set is harder to find.
RMIT vs QUT for Information Technology/ Computer Science, which is better?
Based on what?
A Life That Travels
Social community
- Because I am an international student, and I want to meet alot of student especially local students and have a fun time together.
Quality
- The program discipline for Computer Science/IT
Jobs
- Which prepares me more for working experience/internship.
Also I would like to add Swinburne University of Technology as well.
@@gamewithjason please reply to the above comment, it would help me too
Both great programs. Both very connected to industry with lots of practical experience. Check to make sure the program you’re looking for is accredited by the Australian Computer Society, but they should both be.
i think i like ths university
It’s a good one!
Hi I'm considering doing a design technology undergraduate program at either RMIT or Flinders university. What would you recommend to an international student?
RMIT for that one
What is the difference between the three campuses
Location, vibe, subjects taught. What are you looking at studying?
Either primary school teaching, law or interior design
@@ericacummins8502 cool - that's a diverse range of choices. If you haven't yet decided what you're most interested in, you can always start with a general degree (like a Bachelor of Arts), take HEAPS of different courses in your first year so you get a taste of what different subjects are like, then choose one of the above and transfer to the one you really want to do.
I NEED HELP: If I’m interested in media (interactive and visual), games, animation, is RMIT the best? Or is Griffith University or QUT better? (Or any others)
I want to know more about the teachers, course, future career path and real truthful review! Thanks!
I’d put RMIT high on the list for this. QUT and also Swinburne Uni are very good too.
Second that, RMIT would be my choice for those choices - I have many friends doing similar stuff there and they love it. Plus imo, Melbourne is more student friendly compared to up north.
+1
Hi, I was wondering between RMIT and Swinburne which one has a better aviation program in your opinion
Sorry, I’m not really sure about that as a discipline. Both are excellent institutions imo

I am very curious to know the job prespective of masters in civil engineering from Rmit university and job perspective
Still plenty of work available in civil engineering atm.
The vast majority of tertiary education providers expect students to pay course fees, some of which are quite expensive. Therefore it is reasonable for students to expect that the course content is presented by formally qualified staff. Why does RMIT have unqualified staff presenting courses to aspiring students ? It is a fact that some teaching staff do not possess formal qualifications. RMIT should audit the qualifications of ALL teaching staff to ensure they are formally qualified, or dramatically reduce the course fees presented by unqualified staff.
Hi Stacey, I’ll leave this comment up if you can substantiate it in some way.
Australian universities are regulated by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
They are audited for compliance.
RMIT is no different to other unis in its requirements to comply. If you have concerns, you should probably report them to TEQSA.
I’m interested in media (interactive and visual), games, animation, and im having trouble deciding between RMIT and UTS. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Really good question. I haven't looked at gaming for awhile but RMIT would have been my pick if you'd asked me two years ago.
Hi Rob, thanks a lot for these videos, man! I wanted to ask you which of the two would be a better option for an MBA program for a recently graduated & international student like myself - Deakin or RMIT?
Both good programs from what I know. To me, an MBA is really about the specialisation you’re hoping to have at the end, and the relevant industry linkages that a degree program has related to that specialisation.
Eg. If your thing is supply chain, I’d completely ignore overall rankings if there were a different MBA that had a kick arse supply chain specialisation and internship opportunity with a relevant company. That’s where you’ll build your network the most and get best bang for buck.
Thanks for the great review. I saw your UTS video as well. I wish to pursue Master of Engineering Management. which option would be better... RMIT or UTS?
Both are excellent universities. I wouldn’t recommend one over the other for that discipline or student experience. They are comparable - except that one is in Sydney and one is in Melbourne!

My son (Aussie citizen, but grew up in Thailand) is deciding between RMIT and Swinburne for an undergraduate Biomedical Engineering degree. Do you have any advice? Thank you.
My gut reaction was RMIT.
There are many factors such as university rankings, but when you enter the workforce, does the university you went to make a difference in how you are treated? I'm looking for a master's degree in international studies, but which one is the best among RMIT, Monash, Griffith, and Western Australia?
I am an international student, so I would appreciate it if you could tell me.
The university you studied at, rather than your skills and experience, is only of minor importance in the workforce in Australia.
Employers are far more concerned with how well you "fit" the company culture, as well as your soft skills, than purely what and where you studied. Of course, for very technical jobs, like engineering, having the "right" degree is important too.
I'd encourage you to look at which degree program attracts you the most.
In the end, if you're happy and really engaged in your studies because they are most aligned with your interests, you'll do better. A degree that you LOVE at a "lowly" ranked uni is still better than a degree you HATE at a "highly" ranked uni.
All of the unis you list have various strengths in the international studies space and I like each of them for different reasons. Check out the course details (i.e. exactly what subjects are part of the degree) plus the extracurricular options (leadership, internships, overseas study, social life etc) before making a decision.
Hi, I’m looking at Deakin, RMIT and Monash for masters of architecture. Which do you recommend?
Hard to say without more info about what you're hoping to achieve.

This is a good university for engineering and technology degrees.
Master of cyber security in RMIT...Your opinion about infrastructure and employability?
Both those unis are excellent. From an academic perspective I couldn’t really split them.
What else are you hoping to get out of the experience?
Eg overseas study opportunities, work integrated learning, leadership, clubs and societies etc
@@ChoosingYourUni Thank you so much. I really appreciate your concern.
I am planning to get into Masters of business analytics and RMIT is one of my main choices. Which university would you recommend as m really confused !
Good choice imo
Hey rob, which college do you suggest for a master's in engineering management? I have offers from Macquarie & RMIT as of now. What I'm looking for, are good industry connections and good networking options so that I can have better job prospects
Right now I'd put RMIT over MQ for that because the programs are much better established. For straight management MQ is strong, but engineering is still relatively young at that uni. RMIT has strong industry programs and engineering in general.
should i study business management on this university
Maybe. Depends on many things. Search for my recent live video on “how to choose a university”
I am interested in Biotechnology masters program. Which University is better for Biotechnology among these three ?

Hi! Great content! I am confused between Deakin University and RMIT. Which is good for Bachelor of nursing program? Could you help me please?
I love both these unis. I couldn’t really say which is “better” for nursing as both are strong. I’d consider where in Melbourne you would want to live and the non-academic things you want to get out of uni and make a choice based on that.
Hi, saw your comment, you were confused between RMIT AND Deakin I have the similar cases got offer letter form both unis could you please share your experience about the uni u choose.thanks
Hi good people, my son who will finish High school soon, is looking to get into computer science / cyber security major, any RMIT students are currently studying or graduated from this major? What are your thoughts? Thsnk you
Very good program at RMIT 👍
Hiii I am planning to study Bachelor's in marketing and advertising. I have applied to RMIT, UniSA, Swinburne and Western Sydney. What would you recommend to an international student?
There's a lot that goes into that decision depending on you and your preferences - like what city, access to internships, cost of living etc.
Overall, if I had to choose for myself, I would probably pick UniSA for that topic right now. I love their marketing and branding programs. Very applied and real-world.
RMIT would also be high up my list because of the extensive industry linkages and overseas study opportunities.
But these are based on my preferences - both Swinburne and WSU also have really strong elements to them.
i was deciding between Monash and RMIT for engineering. Got any recommendations ?
Any particular specialisation?
@@ChoosingYourUni i was deciding between civil and chemical engineering? Which Uni is better for each?
I’d suggest reading about each of those departments at each uni and looking at what courses they offer to see which one appeals the most. If you’re not yet decided, perhaps it’s best to look for the uni that is good at both so you can make up your mind once you’ve started.
Also compared the options outside the classroom - Monash has a great global learning program, RMIT has great work integrated learning etc
this is my dream college
It’s a good one!
RMIT University is a quite an ambiguous and amusing educational institution. RMIT does offer some very good courses presented by skilled lecturers, however it also offers some seemingly obscure courses presented by unqualified staff. It is a fact that lecturing staff possess a diverse range of qualifications. These qualifications range from degree qualified lecturers through to unqualified lecturers, who do not possess any formal qualifications, including diploma or trade qualifications. I am personally aware of at least one pretentious staff member, who intentionally describes himself as a “University Lecturer” outside of work and yet he does not possess any formal qualifications. He enjoys portraying himself as a sophisticated, enlightened, intelligent academic, when in reality he is simply an unqualified TAFE Teacher, who ironically professes expertise in various subjects. This person once stated, “anyone can get a degree”. My question to this person, “If that’s the case, where’s your degree ?”
I’m not sure what to make of this.
RMIT is dual sector so teaches everything from Cert iii courses and up.
Just because someone doesn’t have a degree doesn’t mean they don’t have relevant valuable experience to share.
That might not be so in the case you’re talking about.
Unis typically set themselves benchmarks of how many lecturers are PhD qualified, Masters qualified etc.
But in niche areas maybe that’s difficult (or irrelevant).
I’d always be careful about drawing a generalisation from a sample of 1.
Is this campus good for studying diploma in nursing
RMIT is an excellent uni!
Hello I'm considering Masters of cybersecurity in either Rmit or Swinburne.. in terms of quality of edu and employability after course in relevant field! Kindly advise
Both unis would be good for this 👍
Im trying to do my Plumbing cert2 courses at RMIT would I be making a good choice
I'm not sure about what the VET courses are like but the advantage of RMIT is that there are a lot of options taught by the institution so if you one day want to do other qualifications, they've got a lot on offer.
Hey brother thanks for this precious info. Could u please tell me the best bpt college in Australia.

Bachelor of physiotherapy (BPT)
hi Sir, i am looking for master of design in RMIT, UTS, the university of Sydney, & monash university, I am international student, which one do you suggest? thank you
What specialisation?
@@ChoosingYourUni what uni do you recommend for bachelor of information technology?
I am very curious to ask that is RMIT university good to study nursing as I have applied for the offer letter
Nursing is a fairly standard curriculum across most universities because it is an accredited subject. That means all students at all universities need to complete almost the same work because they must be accredited by the national nursing board at the end in order to get a job.
So the thing to look at here is student satisfaction, teaching resources etc - you can do that on compared.edu.au.
RMIT has excellent extracurricular options, like overseas study, work integrated learning, leadership and other options - being able to complete those alongside your studies is both fun and advantageous.
It is a huge uni, so the thing to be aware of is that it will have larger class sizes than unis like ACU and Notre Dame that have excellent health programs and smaller classes (but that aren't as strong with extracurricular options).
hey! I am going to be joining college next year so I am still deciding upon which one !! well theres this special programme in one India's top engineering colleges , its called BITS-RMIT higher education academy! , so I am really interested in it coz its like two years in india and next two years in RMIT , so sounds really good! just wanted to ask if RMIT is actually a reputable college like globally and stuff?? the fees is pretty high and I just wanna make sure its going to be worth the money and I intent to take mechanical or electrical engineering!! a lot of people here are not aware about any other colleges outside india so everyones kinda skeptical about RMIT and thinks its a mid uni ! well I have read good reviews about it and ur video was also very helpful !! is it like a mid uni in australia compared to the other engineering colleges there? do u think this could be a real good chance for me? I really wanna be studying in top tier institutes ! sorry for writing so much please reply :)
G'day! Thanks for this message.
I'm not familiar with the BITS-RMIT collaboration, but I can provide a general comment and a few of my own opinions.
Firstly, the Australian higher education system overall is ranked amongst the strongest in the world. 85% of our universities are in the "top 1000", a way higher percentage than the UK (~35%) or USA (~15%). Our system has strong quality controls and Government oversight - it doesn't mean that there are no problems, or no bad courses, but the university system as a whole has good integrity measures.
So basically every Australian university will provide a quality education.
Australia has a self-appointed group of universities called the Group of Eight. They are broadly considered the most "prestigious", largely because they do the most research (which features heavily in international rankings). However, if you look at student satisfaction, Go8 unis sometimes rank very poorly based on Australian Government data (go to compared.edu.au for student satisfaction data based on Australian Government surveys).
As for RMIT, it's not Go8, but it has an excellent engineering program. I can't talk about India, but here in Australia, nobody would look badly at you if you had an engineering degree from RMIT... quite the opposite, in some sub-disciplines it is amongst the strongest in the country!
So it all depends on what you're hoping to achieve with your degree. Check out Compared.edu.au and look at RMIT's sub-disciplines to see how they perform against other Australian and global universities.
If you're looking to work in India, and RMIT's reputation isn't strong, then that's something to consider for you.
From my point of view, if I had a son or daughter thinking of studying engineering at RMIT, I certainly wouldn't discourage them from it.
Hope that helps!
Any advice for deciding between RMIT and University of Melbourne for an animation degree? I’m totally stumped
Honestly, I wouldn’t be going into animation personally. Have a look at midjourney.com - animation won’t be far down the track for AI imo, definitely within the coming 5-10 years.
Not to be rude, but that's not what I asked. Whether it's a defunct career or not, I'd like to know which course is better
@@louie297i’m a bit late to give my two cents, but in terms of course quality and social culture i’d say rmit definitely. though student work seems to favour 2d over 3d, you’d probably get better career opportunities in 3d. universities like sae and swinburne seem to focus more on 3d and industry though. but rmit is a top university for animation
