@@michaelclarkin2326en had awesome groove and feel (like Evgeny) for a metal drummer. ‘NECROTICISM : DESCANTING THE INSALUBRIOUS’ was ahead of it’s time in terms of drum composition for the genre. However, fr dude, Evgeny’s drumming chops are many levels above and superior across all aspects. Pete Sandoval, Steve Asheim, Sean Reinert, Gene Hoglan (to name just a few) were all technically above Ken at that time. Ken’s real gift was songwriting as opposed to raw drumming ability. Kind of like Joey Jordison in that way. Jay Weinberg is a technically superior drummer, but Joey created unique and timeless drum hooks for every track. That’s what I loved about Ken Owen in his prime.
Edit : Along with Pete Sandoval and Steve Asheim, Ken was also one of the drummers responsible for pioneering the blast beat.

Evgeniys Drumming is so precise and clean. He is my idol in terms of drumming. One of the best Drummers in the world in my opinion
