I’ve been wanting to go here for a while but I called the parks dept to see if it was okay after a radioactive contaminant got on the beach and they said it’s no longer safe to go there? Has anyone done any radiological readings of the area? Maybe he just didn’t want me to go down there because they’re trying to discourage people from going. Do you know about any updates regarding DHB because the official message from the parks department is it’s not safe to go there due to ☢️. I would love to go, though. Clearly, you are not deterred!
The item (metal plate) at time line 11:37 with the different geometric shapes is a practice setting plate for learning how to set diamonds called bead and bright cutting.
"🤣I don't wanna touch you"🤣🤣🤣🤣. VERY good video....and VERY nice of you to help her get to England AND VERY nice of her to give you those coins. Smiles and laughs a plenty☺️.
Haha.😅 Charming competition..😆What a fun and fulfilling outing. I’m tickled for creativity by the half moon penny, 🤓 You’re so good with pecking around the spill and spending time with others. Lovely finds. With the military button, the silver ring, and the good luck token I think you both came out even. 😉
Prayers for a trip to England! Didn't know Adele had a channel, will definitely subscribe, she's such a character. Love that lady! Great video and great finds. ❤
Hey Merrill, Adele and every one of you Metal Detectorist, glad to see those all too familiar and friendly faces one again! Yes, I love the coinage, but in or near the water the coins tend to take a bit of a beating, but there's nothing like the hunt, to the hunt!!! Okay gang, where are the marbles! Congrats on the finds today, you guys killed it! I love the friendly competition between Merrill and Adele, kind of like the NY Jets and the New England Patriots or may-be the NY Giants and the Dallas Cowboys. Well, anyway, I had so much fun just watching you guys, I felt like I was with you all! Mud larking is the best! I can't wait for the London mud-larking trip. Hey everyone, join this FUN CLUB channel, you'll be glad you did!!! KUDOS to Metal Detecting NYC... Greg the Egg.
That spoon is from the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis. It's a memento and keepsake. My grandmother went to it. It's one of the 5 percenter finds up there with silver cups. Doggone it, Merrill. She did it. lol Then she gave you two really nice coins. Merrill, she won with just that spoon, man. You gotta work harder. Go! Go! Go! lol You know I'll probably never stop watching your videos and now I got Adele's to watch after I subscribed to her because she finds better stuff than you do. 😉👍🖖
Hi from Ibiza(Spain).that pendant has institute for the crippled and disabled on it,but bet you figured that one out fast enough, cool find.Like your videos, here in Ibiza we can only detect beaches or private land and keep nothing older than 200 years old due to spanish laws. All the best and good luck allways.
Nice finds. Lots of toasted coins; they’ve been in the water forever. Still great hunt. Looks like Adele loves competition . Lol. Ok we’ll give it to Adele
I think if Adele was 30 years younger and the way you tease each other, you might have been a couple😂😂😂 good mudlarking video and the best of luck in jolly old England
Great videos! And super history! Can you go to Dead Horse Bay now? Is it possible briefly even if it is officially closed? I'll be there this weekend, love to mudlark, never have in NYC. (Mostly James River in Virginia and once in London.) I also heard about near RFK bridge along Brooklyn side of the East River? Thanks!
Merrill, Thanks for all the great videos. I really enjoy them. I would like to suggest something that would be very helpful to those of us nerds who are interested in the guts of these detectors. It's almost impossible to understand the potential one machine has over another without knowing which parts are inside these things and comparing the quality of the parts themselves from one detector to another. For instance: I would almost bet that the circuit boards inside one model over another in the Minelab line have been used over and over. If the unit functions better than another in the field, what electronically makes them function better. Surely there must be someone with the required skills to do the evaluations needed to bring that kind of clarification to your channel. Talk about content. Dave Lowa
HI Merrill. Thanks for all the great videos and information. I want to go and mudlark on Deadhorse Bay, but I have seen reports about it being closed because of radioactive contamination. What is the actual situation since I see many videos like yours of people searching and collecting there. It's a long trip for me and I would like some feedback.
New York has unofficially closed it. They are no longer maintaining the paths to DHB. My friend brought a Geiger counter and observed nothing out of the ordinary. The city sent teams over last summer that have been removing the hazardous objects. Right now there is no path to get there except under the Gil Hodges bridge.
I'm running late for work, and what comes up on youtube but Merrill & Adele on DHB raking in the goodies left and right! I'm SALIVATING! Will have to watch this one after work, and the anticipation will get me through the work day quicker.
23:34 The chain looks like it has a partial tag attached. It could be a Bottle Tag that identified a specific Liquor ("Scotch" or "Whiskey" You get the idea.)
Would love to see a show of your definitions or gold silver and others. As well as your electrolysis process. Did anyone swing a coil this day Thanks I enjoyed. One man's trash is another's treasure. I love the comrades Only ny/nj personal can love this.Thank you
8:48 - *SILVER BRITISH PALESTINE ISRAEL 50 MILS OLIVE BRANCH COIN (1927-1942 )...* Veeeery good find, which explains a little the situation in Palestine nowadays. 25:00 - Medal "Good Luck From Our Disabled, Institute for the Crippled and Disabled" 29:44 - Piper-Heidsieck is a French champagne brand.
I was wondering if it would be worth my while to travel 5 1/2 hours to go mud Larkin on this beach since I am obsessed with the mud Larkin videos from Scotland and such places. I would love to come and mud Lark there but if there's already so many people mud Larkin and not much to find what would be the point
At the 27:56 minute mark you’re looking at what you thought was gold. Did you not see what looks like a gold ring in the background ? Half in the ground !
Wow what a place @26.02 you say is this a pendant im looking past your fingers on ground is that a ring standing upright 😲edit continue watching ,now you got ring with stome/jewel i still see the gold looking band right next to where you got little jewel ring lol
Sir Merrell interesting video to say the least!, great finds even if they are corrade, diffently a place where you can have a great day if you look hard enough!, well on A del finds I liked the cross she found but that's about it!,carry on Sir Merrell and continue to show us all your videos.
Merrill have to share I was detecting an old park with my legend and got this very interesting low tone and big I was thinking it was a large piece of foil but as I started to dig it up I saw the gold rim, now I am having a heart attack because what I dug up was a large cigarette lighter that was 999.9 gold, would like to share a picture but don't have a link to do so.😁
Hey Merrill ... Love your vids and your interactions with your mad dogs. They need a good talking to so that they have a mind change in the new year. It'll be OK if they change their minds again, say about April Fools Day. I'm writing to ask that you do a comparison between the absolute bottom of the line, early purchase, single frequency detector in your stable, with what you would consider the current top of the line machine you own. That test garden on your property would be OK with me. I want to put to bed for the last time the concern that the light duty early detector that you own is really inferior to the multifrequency, high tech models of today. Something like the Bounty Hunter Quick Silver against the best in the high tech field of today. I have to see with my own eyes that there is a big difference and what those differences are between these technological poles before I finally lay my hard earned $1000 on the counter for my next circle on a stick. Thanks, Dave Lowa Winston-Salem, NC
I NEED to go there with you!! You find more silver mud-larking there in one day than I find detecting in a month... or two!! Great going Merrill... the Queen still knows how to wind you up!! Hahaha... even if you find half the contents of Fort Knox The Queen will still win... you know that!!😂😂
Omg I thought department of transportation was a joke LMAO like it was just some mundane thing, then in the next scene I saw it actually said transportation, my sides lmao
The square object with four holes going through it is a spacer for a four strand necklace or bracelet. Essentially it is a bead to keep four strands of beads together and laying flat. Awesome show. Congratulation on some fantastic finds!

That spoon Adele got is from the World's Fair. She beat you on this spoon alone!😂
at 11:38, that impressions on the metal are "taps." They are used for cutting metal on lathes , back then, and nowadays CNC machines
I love to see you and Adele interacting during your hunts together!!
🤣✨🤣🤣🤣 Adele wants to look in yr pouch🤣🤣🤣
You go girl👍🤓👍
The copper plate at 11:30 is a jewellers practice plate for parvey setting.
Wow! Thank you for the ID. That is pretty incredible!
😁 I love when you two get together it’s awesome, makes me laugh so much
Thant a nice collection of American artifacts..that’s a lovely gift ..I think you both did pretty good!..

We need to see Merrill’s Mudlarking Mittens (gloves) 😂. Cool finds
@20:39. The Metal square thing. I’m almost positive that is an old post office tag. Love from Canada
Was a great day! Awesome to see you again dude!
The coin you found on minute 8:22 is "50Mils", a British- Palestine coin, from 1920-1948
So nice of her to give you those coins .. awesome. She seems like a good person.
Shes a fantastic person. Always helping other people!

I haven't seen her in a while glad y'all are having fun ✌️🤟🖖
And again a nice day together, with old film stars!!!😁😆😅🤣👍👌✌
I found a space rocks. It made the metal detector sing. Xray shows it had 5% iridium, 35% platinum some gold, iron and a few other elements.
Haha love the stickers on back of Adele's window lol
What you said "Look at this old lock" it looked similar to (not 100% sure) a clamp for the rear leaf springs of my old '76 Camaro.
Prayers for a trip to England!
Didn't know Adele had a channel, will definitely subscribe, she's such a character. Love that lady!

No too big. Im sure I have missed before though.
25:13 I think says Institute of the Crippled and Disabled.
Adel is something else dang.

Hey Merrill how do you clean up those coins so good?
I tumble them. Its kind of a last resort.....But DHB is already a garbage dump...so were at that last resort!
@@MetalDetectingNYC You mean like a rock tumbler?

I think that ,when all of that beach head is clear we all won't.thank you Merrill for showing use an adventure of mud larking.
I think the old lady won and she didn't even put a full day in. I think next year I'll go to this spot as it seem interesting.
You can use toilet bowl cleaner to get rid of the material on the metal things you find and it doesn't harm the image Kathy from Michigan.
No pin pointer? I'd be worried about finding used needles 😰 lol half kidding
That coin looked like an old mid 1940s 50 phenie...
