- The 12" version of Expose's 1987 hit "Let Me Be The One", recored by the classic line-up of Gioia Bruno, Ann Curless, and Jeanette Jurado. This version can be found on their 2002 Greatest Dance Mixes album.
Nothing better than Freestyle music.......kids now days don't have a clue. Peace out ,and keep dancing!!!!!
It definitely was gold
3 beautiful iconic women, from a better place in time!!!!!!
Wow what a sexy song and what incredible memories! Thank you Expose!!!!!
The Number 1 girl group of the 80s...
I love this group!
It’s 2021.. Still listening to this classic with the awesome old school music power of MTV. Whenever I listened to this, I feel like I’m dancing in a nightclub.
I could spend the rest of my life listening to freestyle and seeing my kids grow and letting them listen to there type of music. This song is good I will never get tired of cover girls, expose and ......... remainder one of my favorite songs is my heart skips a beat cover girls but Expose was my favorite about a tie
The intro beat is awesome
I love Latin R&B/Pop...they were one of the best to do it!
I miss the good singing and the good groups from back in the day....music used to be so good...I'm glad UA-cam keeps the good stuff alive. If only I could high five UA-cam...LOL
music atill is you just havent found the right artist :)
+allsports100 I see this flawed statement a lot. The point is that in the 80s-mid 90s you didn't have to *_LOOK_* for the "right artist." The circuit was saturated with talented artists and quality music. Today, most of what you hear is corporate sponsored indoctrination. Only a few artists actually perform to create "art" and those people you don't see at the Music Award shows.
The vast majority of music that has true substance gets blackballed from mainstream media.
Back to the point, in the 80s and 90s no matter what musical category it was, Rock, Pop, R&B, Rap, Country, what have you it was far better quality than today.
***** ok?
+D2K Prime dude honestly if you don't like music nowadays don't listen to it stick to this
+allsports100 It's pretty obvious that I don't so I ponder why you waste yours and my time with this post. it's not like I troll around UA-cam videos of modern music talking about how much I hate it. Obviously there's some insecurity on your part about the fact that there might be validity to what I'm saying. Now please go away. You enjoy the music you like, and I will continue to do likewise.
1987 - Miami Freestyle Classic driving and blasting this out loud down Collins Avenue at 2a am..such bliss full times :)
This is 80s pop at its best. Amazing beats that just build up to get you pumped. Expose kicked ASS!!!!
I love the kick ass guitar solo!
I still miss them when VH1 stopped showing their video so sad when they replace their wonderful music with those crazy reality shows even sadder .
This track is sooo beast.Hurts me everytime. So Sick.Dont even know where to start!
love this 1987 hit
I also heard the original version of this song on BackTrax USA last weekend. I rolled down the windows in the car, cranked up the volume and let the people KNOW what I was listening to!
Cool rhythm and sweet strong lead voice, i'd always tough the lead voice was a black woman.
I saw expose 2 weeks ago in san jose,ca at a small club, but they packed the place, standing room only, what a grrat show 3 hour straight awesome
one of my favorite songs...love it
WHO DOESN'T REMEMBER THIS SONG MANY TOO MANY MOONS AGO, MY BEAT LOVE LOVE IT
"THE FIRST TIME THAT I SAW YOU THERE THOUGHT I KNEW YOU FROM BEFORE
PROMISE ME YOU WILL NEVER LEAVE CAUSE I WILL NEVER LET YOU GO" MY DISCO DANCING SONG LOVE IT
Pounding beat! Love Expose
i wish i had all the synthesizers and drum machines they used...when you heard the sounds by themselves that was one thing but this music is heavily layerd which i always loved...lots of differnt things going on challanges my ear...only dance music and classical music can do that...I love expose..they were the most polished of all the freesytle acts..also i love musical seduction..
hey i may be old...but this music makes me feel GOOD!
One of my favorite 12" extended remixes of all time. I remember when this first came out in 1987, there was a radio station in Baltimore (Hot 95.9, WGHT or WHTE were the calls) which had what you might call a "Top-40/dance" format (probably similar to New York's WKTU) that would play a slight variation of this.
this was the jam back in the day. brings back fond memories of my young life
How about the Cassette Single ....lol
This was the shit back in the day, Oh, The amount of coke I did back in the 80's at the clubs dancing all night long to GREAT music like this, The 80's ROCKED!
Piss off, Who didn't do coke back in the 1980's.....What I did 30 yrs ago and what I do now are two totally different things, So PISS OFF, When I want to hear from an ASS HOLE, I will FART or pay attention to what Ovomit has to say........
and you're proud of that?
LOL
I was a boy back in the 80’s, and I didn’t and couldn’t have done coke, either way. But I am no one to judge anyone for having done it. We all make our damn mistakes. Aside from all that tho..... all that shallow, urban spam and baloney garbage that you hear on the FM band has nothing (or will never have) on 70’s, 80’s, and 90s music.
@@laflaquitadetexas Lol, right! 😅
I love the ending of this song. God I wish they still used the synthesizers like they used to!!!!
Now this is what I still call music.
I love these ladies and their music, and one of the singers has the same name as me, Jeanette!
Gioia sobresale en looks y voz. Ann es bellísima y sencilla. Jeanette es fantasía.
80`s Freestyle at it`s best .Sexy song and a great re-mix job.Great vocals,too.Enjoy!
80's dilemma..should I get on 7" or 12"
Jane Byfield almost ALWAYS 12
I would get both. Never get enough of this group
I love how many great talent came out of Miami... Expose being one of them. The 80's will always have a special place in my heart. I can't wait to be reunited with all my old pals from South Florida in the near future. I was and will always continue to be a huge Miami Vice fan!
wow... this is a memory jerker...
This is the best remix of this song I have ever heard!! Great stuff!!
Good music was 27 years old when it came out in 1987
I was in my Early teens when I first heard this song in the radio and then I Saw the video I even like this song more
@pedro trevino Jr Me too.. great times😉
By sick I mean its hot. Smokin, on fire. You get the drift I hope. NOTHING BAD. i LOVE eXPOSE.
Expose had one of the best sound to listen & dance to!
Where's the time machine to go back to when this song first came out?
Hell NO, Paula had the moves, but not the voice of these 3 fine young ladies; that's Ann Curless of Expose.
Damn love this song............. beautiful girls then and now...:)
Super hot remix that needs to be released on iTunes USA!!! NOW!!!!
Sigh remember the 80's when we were young and everything was possible. (sigh)
Everything is still possible. Believe it and it will happen for you.
@ Enyotta Watkins.. I remember.. not a care in the world.. such good times :))
@@lisaking9854 Me too.
I'm a 57 year old DJ.
Every song on this album was good. 12" vinyl is in demand now.
By far one of the sickest female freestyle groups singing one of the bestest freestyle songs. Nice up.
Gioia Bruno was born in Bari, Italy. Ann Curless from New York. And Jeanetta Jurado Pico Rivera, CA
Yup, you confirmed that my recall was correct. I was really into Expose and an arts journalist at the time. I remember that factoid. Now, I don't know if one of her parents was Latino or Latina, but let's put it this way: A deliciously soulful voice is a deliciously soulful voice no matter what the color of one's skin is, and/or what one's ethnicity is. What one person hears as a Black gospel trill, another person hears as Portuguese Fado, etc.
For what it's worth, I once had a co-worker whose parents emigrated from the *North* of Italy to the United States in the late 19th century. I'm Black American (yes, yes, and of mixed heritage, but I'm not a milennial, so no one cares) and I'm honey-complexioned. My co-worker was like peanut butter-complexioned with hair just as kinky-curly as mine, and she was straight-up Italian. (We both baked Italian cookies -- I no longer bake any desserts; no patience, and the cost of $$$sugar and butter-- so my natural curiosity led me to ask if hers was a family recipe. Mine, I told her, was the recipe of the Italian mom of my mom's best friend. We became instant good work acquaintances.) As with many kinds of conqueror-explorers, the Moors and other African-derived peoples are distant ancestors of many people in Europe and the Americas as in Africa.
So, yeah, Gioia Bruno -- very much an Italian name set -- is Italian, and her "Black sound" (as I used to hear about a lot back in the late '80s) could be so many influences, including genetic ones. Hmmm...come to think of it, when I open my mouth to sing, my vocal tone and textures evoke Rita Coolidge. But when I sing along to, say, a song by Aretha Franklin (whether from the '60s, '70s, '80s or '90s), I "put it on" and wind up sounding like I'm gospel trained.
This is why music is such a beautiful force. So universal, so uniting. And this response is waaaayyy too long. Please forgive.
80's where and will always be the best year fore music ..
such a sexy song
Esa canción es de 1987, me gusta todavía😊
@dayjaboy The ORIGINAL member consisted of Sandra Casanas, Laurie Miller and Alejandre Lorenzo. By 1986, this lineup was replaced by Gioia, Ann and Jeanette. They were featured on the album "Exposure" with the exception of the early releases which feature Ale Lorenzo on lead vocals for "Point Of No Return."
i used to mix samantha fox's touch me in after this.
Great tune!
My daughter use to make me bump this out my 'stang back in the day...brings back some nice memories :)
This song is SEXY as hell AWWW
Great times and great music!
I like lots of stuff going on in a song too...lots of layers. I don't know if you like Barry White, but one of his songs, "Forever In Love" (actually listed under the Love Unlimited Orchestra) is like that. Lots of different layers to keep your ears busy. I love it for that reason. :)
Very Nice Song!!!!!!!!!!!!!! O YEAHHHH!!!!! :-)
@wildride00 Oh, baby...........you just said everything there was to say!
MAKES YOU WANT TO DROP SOME BABY POWDER AND DANCE, HOW I MISS THOSE DAYS.
great remix!! this music makes you feel good!
Add me to the fan list. I grew up listening to this during my teenage years.. I only have wished the mainstream media payed more tribute but rather they glorified rap songs...This is way better than rap.
BEAUTIFUL!
Remember in the 80s when our parents told us the music was crap compared to theirs? We are saying the same thing now. Every generation thinks that their music is the best.
I Love this r&b jam and i used to listen to song all the time in late 80's and we used to party on this song.
Yes.
Yes, yes, yes!!! I was thinking of "Let Me Be the One" last weekend. I was vaccuuming the carpet and got a rhythm going on in my mind. Then I just started belting out the way Gioia does over the bridge. My favorite Expose song for sure! Gracias!!!
Whoever is listening to this in 2024, you're a legend.😊❤
this audio sounds so clear is it because it's a vinyl?
I just always wanted to be her...I love there looks and stylings in this video that they shot in Paris
yes my friend! Vinyl still have the best sound quality! Mp3, aac3, wma, between other sound formats, they are just way of having the songs, but giving up the audio quality.
This the single cover, but a different song, I like the version where at the end Gioia, says "You can trust me at any time" and she holds it and then the instruments stop and Ann and Jeanette sing at the top of their lungs "Let me be the oneeee" and then it goes back to the instruments, I can never find it on here
Listen to the whole thing. That part is here. Go to 6:58.
Jeanette and ann DO NOT SING BACKGROUND VOCALS HERE.....THE ORIGINAL GIRLS FROM EXPOSE DO..
@@viewtube6e It sure is.
@@Boychick2023 You are correct. The background singers on every single song of this album are Ale, Sandee, and Laurie. In my opinion, the original singers were much better.
@@LuisMartinez-ft9or What is the story on that? I never could figure out why the original three singers were fired, and then - shadily - replaced with three different women who each kind of looked like the original three?
I can't wait to get my HOT ROD SOMEDAY, SO I CAN GO CRUISIN, HEY TOYOTA, HERE WE COME, HAHAHAHA, HUH, VERY FUNNY, HUH!!!!!!😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄🤔🤔🤔😘😘😐😐😐😐😐😄😄😄🙋🙋🙋, OH AND WHO WOULD EVEN WANT TO BE THE ONE FOR A SANTA REA!!!!!!!!!
wow thanks for posting you can't hardly find this any more of this expose 12'wonderful sound they have
3 hot girls back in the 80s i got the LP ?
GREED HATH NO MERCY...SUSAN (VISION).
3 people don't want to be the one.
dis is my shit
I like this music
Do tell.
I just bought me a remake version of the Roland Tr808!!!! This song pumps me up to Produce tracks like this!!!!
real music
i love them
Its all good
Yes, I completely remember this song from my early childhood years in Jamaica. I so want to practice this melody on my keyboard.
These 3 group girls were the shiznit back in the day
Sweet memories
always luved the long version. YOu can trust me at anytime!
that s what you call singing...memories of those days!!!
1
One of the sexiest songs of all time.
which is hard to find these days......
Que recuerdos hay, con estos temas de expose los 80 los mejores años de mi Vida
@ladaniel58 on da east coast this was more like the birth of freestyle movement..
...
heh this song came out when i was MAYBE 1 and i love it. all these old 80's classics are untouchable. in a way im glad this stuff is forgotten. mtv n hollywood would just murder it like they murder everything. to me there isnt anything like the sound of the 80's n early 90's.
y r there hardly any uploads of "Exposed to Love," much less any of its remixes??
anyone outhere with a time machine to send me back to the 80's, the best time of my life, i would give everything that I have for a few 80's days.
UA-cam is one of those time machines. Turn up the volume, close your eyes, move your booty, and you're back there. Anybody else wanna go?
When female singers could turn you on only with their music&by the way they sung!
Lewis A. Martineé, Mike Couzzi and Rique Alonso, according to discogs.
BREATHE AND SIN(G) AGAINST G AT THE SAME TIME.
SO glad they're BACK!!! They still sound as great-can't wait to go to a concert!!! :)
Thanks alot for this. Easily their best ballad, though it's as much a jam as it is a ballad. :)
This track is barely a ballad. It's got a midtempo groove. Of course, it's not as straight-on freestyle as, say, "Point of No Return," which has fast-tempo, multi-layered Latin rhythms. Love Expose!
@@mariposapapillon9261 you are right to correct, it is not a ballad but I am afraid it's no mid tempo either. The song is 112bpm, which makes it slightly elevated but scarcely a mid tempo. Either way a great song. Mix it over and over with many songs of this genre. Point of no return is def one Lots of memories.
This is the best one next to " I wish the phone would ring" in the R&B mix!!
I Can TOTALLY See/Hear Taylor Dayne Performing/Singing This Song Track!!
Absolutely! Fine insight there. Now look at what you have me doing next: going over to Taylor Dayne to click on "I'll Always Love You" (extended).
Gioia turns the shit out of this song!........
She sure does. She amps up the kick-ass in her voice on this cut. She's got perfect pitch, crazy-cool deep textures and fierce belts from the chest.
You call it freestyle, I call it DANCE, or high energy. It's just a title, but I'd love to be doing cha-cha to this song with Nicole Sherzinger. Yaaaa-eeesss.
