At this point I feel like if you don't like Sleep Token you're just not a music fan. They pull from so many genres they have something for every one and their song writing ability is just insane.
Sleep Token is exactly what metal, and music in general, needed. They help metal reach more ears, they help metalheads get over their bias against other genres, but most of all they just make great music and that's all that really matters.

Well many bands today cross genres. I'm hearing a lot more jazz in White Ward, Imperial Triumphant etc. They're ok. Ne Obliviscaris and other modern bands blow em out of the water songwriting-wise imo.

When i first heard Sleep Token i thought of Slipknot. Not for the music but the mystery. Hence why Slipknot will always be remembered but Sleep Token are something new and I can honestly say they have the potential to surpass and conquer the music scene as they are literally a piece of all of us and multiple genres. I get elements of Tool , the best band ever, a perfect circle, hints of slipknot and korn, then right down to pop like the script or jamiroquai with the blues side. Parts are like Bastille and so on. Just unique.

Highly recommend checking that out, but they had 2 albums and 2 eps before that and I believe they don't have a bad song. Other notables to check out are The Offering, Jaws, Alkaline, Calcutta, Higher, and the list goes on XD Worship.

I’ll admit I’d heard of Sleep Token but never listened to them. I saw the cover Will Ramos did of “Chokehold” about a week ago and decided to give “Take Me Back to Eden” a listen. And holy ffffffffff … it’s absolutely brilliant! I’ve listened to it over and over all week and can’t see that I’d ever get tired of the album. Lucky for Bad Omens this came out in 2023 because it’d have been the hands-down winner for AotY at the Heavy Music Awards! It should be high up in the running for AotY 2023!
I haven't heard much from Sleep Token, but Corey is actually one of the vocalists that came to mind when I heard them. Not necessarily because of his sound as a vocalist, it's just the dynamism of his talent.
I'd say Corey does it better in regards to dynamic vocals as he kills it for clean vocals and harsh vocals. While Vessel's cleans are much better, his harsh vocals leave a lot to be desired, which is why I think Corey hits the nail better in that regard.

It would be so easy for Corey to be negative about sleep token what with the masks merged with metal elements and all, but instead Cory praises them and shows a respect and understanding of this angle of artistry, he doesn’t knock them on any grounds of imitation - which would be a natural knee jerk reaction for a band with similar nuances becoming so successful, but Cory instead praises them and stays optimistic, I love it. this is why Corey Taylor is Corey Taylor. Writes history and allows others to follow and interoperate

If you like RnB Sleep Token is great. If you can't stand RnB you can pick a few songs to enjoy and ditch the rest, so I really can't follow the current lead of being so amazed by them. But to each their own... I'm happy for anyone who enjoys music of whatever sort, but to me it's not the big new metal thing at all and I really tried. Have been listening to their album numerous times by now and think a lot of the despised Nu Metal bands from the 2000's provided equally creative and masterful genre blends.

Sleep Token was a happy accident for me. I heard a band called, "Sleep Theory" on Octane and went on YT to look into them. I couldn't find much at the time, but I instead got results of Sleep Token. The song was Alkaline. Watched the video and have been hooked on them ever since. I totally forgot about Sleep Theory!

My jaw never dropped so many times in one song from Sleep Token. They're one of the greatest. Ever. 100% certain. The creativity and placement is just craaazy in songs like Summoner and Eden 🐐
There’s been a tendency more recently to just throw a bunch of genres together, with jarring cuts and really think something unique and interesting has happened. The Summoning, from Sleep Token, was a master class in this style and had me pulling my head from the dredges of the underground scene to be like “hey, what’s going on over here!?” I was a little let down by the rest of the album however and didn’t really think they delivered well on the promise that The Summoning made. But that song made enough of an impact that I’d be interested to see what they do next.
Can't wait for the upcoming Sleep Token opener for Slipknot. Even though it's the other side of the world it's a huge moment for ST to play shows of that size.

Slipknot's anonymity felt more like a challenge. Like Corey said, it was like "You figure it out." Just a very punk rock move of not giving people what they want. With Sleep Token, you get something out of it, a sort of make-believe game where we pretend that the band we're listening to are real occultists. We'd lose that magic if we knew their secret identities, like when someone in a mascot costume takes their head off.
