- In this Blackpool Pleasure Beach park update video i take a look around at the park to see if anything has changed in over month away from visiting, but unfortunately i was very disappointed, upset and annoyed with what i saw both inside the park and also online. From Ice Blast still SBNO, River Caves still being SBNO and also the Grand Prix kinda being SBNO (except for one day) i express all my feelings on them three attractions, talk about the Big Ones 30th birthday and also about some ridiculous the park did at Thorpe Parks car park entrance

They could have promoted 30 years of the Big One and saved some money on bl**dy stupid vans at Thorpe Park.
When even the hardened of Pleasure Beach fans have more criticisms than good to say, you know there's a problem. What a shame PB has got to this state.
It makes me sad having to say the things i did but sadly at the moment other locals to blackpool and many other season pass holders are saying/thinking similar things :( we all just want the best for the place, not asking for much.
The death of the park started years ago when they priced local families out of the market. I've been wanting to bring my kids up with this park as part of their lives, but I just can't afford to pay two full adult tickets to watch my kids on a roundabout. They should perhaps run nickelodeon land as a separate park. The park has run on nostalgia and loyalty, but young adults now no longer have the family memories of being their so no longer have the desire to. return
Yes I agree. Charging a fortune to enter as lost them so vey many customers!
Back before covid and when you use to get wristbands the park did offer a nick land only ticket but sadly it didnt work as majority of people were still buying tickets for the whole park.
It would be nice if they do something like that again because you still have to scan to get onto the rides so can easily be done as it can be a nick land only QR code.
Not been to the pleasure beach now in years despite being in Blackpool a few times and at £50 on the gate I can't see that changing.
Being from Bolton if weather is nice a day trip to Blackpool isn't out of the question and when you could just walk into the pleasure beach I'd probably spend a few hours and £'s there on rides.
If I solely want rides I'll go to Alton Towers which isn't only cheaper to book online but actually invests in their park upkeep and ride maintenance. Unlike Blackpool who'd rather spend their money hiring a van, as you rightly put, in an extremely petty move while leaving their park and rides to rot.
It really is a sad state at the moment, hopefully they will pull through soon as they really need to.
Bpb days are definitely numbered 💯
They are certainly going down that route sadly with the route they are going down and how the park looks.
I totally agree she really needs to start telling guests the truth about the park and maybe ask the public what they want for a change because everyone else wants the non rider pass back that’s one other thing people have been talking about for years ❤️ ❤❤
Hopefully one the non rider pass makes a return given the fact that scanning on rides is still happening for no logical reason.
@@stevethecoasterfan yeah definitely ❤️❤️❤️
We also want the ability to pay with cash for entry, food and merchandise as at least a third of people who come to Blackpool rely on cash to budget.
They can't keep closing rides the way they are. There are so many dead spots in the park now. The management really need to get their a t together, pronto.
Hopefully new rides will take over empty spaces in park in future. Im hopeful that the river caves will reopen at some point my guess is next year as nothing can really replace that attraction with it being in a confined space
It looks pretty grim up there ngl.
Anywho, with those shade trucks - they missed an opportunity to go 'hey look our big coaster is actually open!'. But even then, I doubt that those trucks really worked as a marketing trick.
After all, if one is choosing to go to Thorpe Park as a theme park to go to as opposed to Blackpool, location is probably a big deciding factor - especially if you're in or around Greater London (where it's entirely feasible to go to Thorpe Park as a day trip, even via public transport). After all, getting to and from Blackpool from down here is a pretty longwinded process, and visiting would probably involve needing to find a hotel in the area to stay there overnight so you're not having to get through driving/risking the train there and back in the same day - so a trip to Blackpool is gonna be rather hard for the average person to justify without a Very Good Reason, and those vans simply don't provide enough of a Very Good Reason.
I used to be a season pass holder but now i dont go at all.
I honestly dont blame you with the current state the park is in. My parents are the same they also dont have passes anymore.
I worry for the park it needs major investment we was there last week and it was empty for half term operations was poor rides closed a lot and just needs fresh investment
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience at the park :(
Pure greed. Same with the Tower. Charging a fortune just to enter. If it was pay per ride it would still be busy and popular.
Blackpool tower is a separate company to the pleasure beach anyways, but i understand where you are coming from.
I'm sure the tower is owned or rented by merlin
Not been in the pleasure beach for years Yet we visit Blackpool 4/5 times are year with having family living in bispham. Passed it on a really hot day last year, the promenade, piers, town centre etc was heaving with thousands of people but the pleasure beach looked empty. People years ago Who holidayed in Blackpool, virtually all made at least one visit to the pleasure beach during their stay, not anymore. They are missing out on hundreds if not thousands of visitors a day. Nearly £200 pound for 2 adults 2 children. No chance.
Definitely sad not seeing people come into the park when the rest of blackpool is heaving. Definitely proves that the price needs to come down slightly in order to get the people in.
@@stevethecoasterfan if it was just open and pay as you go Monday to Thursday say, I'm sure it would massively pay off as members and online ticket holders generally visit at weekends. Think families are being neglected. we still used to spend a lot of money in there on the other facilities while the kids went on the rides. Such a shame.
Amanda has been too busy sending shade trucks to Staines…
Sadly yes
@@stevethecoasterfan I fear the worst. In between confusing rebrands, petty tweets, poking fun at more successful parks, an absolute lack of footfall and broken rides, the future doesn’t look great for Blackpool Pleasure Beach Resort Lancashire Funshine Land. Sadly.
Oh, and they email me almost daily trying to flog me cheap tickets and discounted merch. Red flags too!
Strictly speaking, they were in Chertsey :^)
@@Coastsandcoasters What do you think is gonna happen, is she gonna sell up ?
BLACKPOOL IT'S THE PLACE TO BE 20 MILLION PEOPLE A YEAR GOING THERE GREAT 🎉😢😮😅😊😅😮😢🎉😂😢😮😅😊
I wish they would go back to free entry and pay per ride. I remember going there in the late 80s when I was a wee lass and it was brilliant. I was too short for most of the rides back then but there was loads of other things to do for young kids. In the late 90s I remember going back with my friends, the park was open til late, and there’s something magical about going on the Pepsi Max at night. I’m just so sad to see the park going the way it has. What a shame. 😢
Sadly free entry is long gone now and will never return.
They should not charge 50 quid for a disagree with that for the Calgary it should have opened it all year round they're going to close it down for the season and they got more people in the park celebrated the big one in Blackpool on the car show and I should have cut the grand Prix open all year round
I think a lot of people would have loved one more ride in the summer main season instead of paying extra for it
When the Piers are cheaper than the pleasure beach, you know there's an issue. I managed to ride all of the attractions at Central pier for less than PB's entry fee
For comparison pleasure beach you can ride all the attractions unlimited times whereas the piers its just one go
Ive been saying as soon as start work on the new indoor theme park the pleasure beach will slowly die death and when new park opens in 2030 thts the end of bpb and theyre own fault badly run badly run down far too expensive fr familys and shame om them charging 10 just to walk round park i nvr will step foot back in the place again its about time people started boycotting the place
Hopefully things will change before any of that
@@stevethecoasterfan the people that run it dont care ab normal folk that's bottom line they're deliberately running park into the ground I'm afraid
Any news on The River Caves is it gonna open this season?
I havent heard anything sadly, me personally i wouldnt expect it back until next year now :(
Amazing hyperia close down and Blackpool big one still goes after 30 or years later with old technology
Old or new , all kinds of technology will have downtime and big ones technology has been upgraded over the years
New rides always experience teething issues, nothing new there just look at the smiler when that first opened
Whole parks a bit crap, yes the woodys are old af and moving them would make old people sad, but there’s 3 out and back old ass wooden coasters that all ride the same, rough and painful, if this place wants to start making money and getting ass in seats Amanda need to make the decision to get rid of some of the ancient crap and actually spend some of her money, there’s 3-4 coasters worth keeping, keep icon, the big one, grand national, possibly keep infusion if vekoma are willing to retrack it coz it’s rough and loud af, the rest can go, they attract no fans except like 4 old boys a day that want some ww2 era nostalgia
Lets hope with the amount of dead space in the park currently and the amount of sbno attractions currently as well that something new and exciting will take there places.
On a side track (pardon pun) you sound like Reece Shearsmith. Lol
Dont know who that is haha
This is so dissapointing to see. I used to go to this park every year and I loved it. Such a shame to see ice blast in such a state.
Shame seeing the whole park in such a state
@@stevethecoasterfan so true. I only commented this halfway through watching your video. The rest was just as awful. Im planning on going there later this year but honestly not sure if it is worth a 6 hour drive for.
It could be sponsored by a car company when Blackpool announced the price of the the car ride
I dont think a sponsorship will happen with the attraction on the way out. There is meant to be supercars at the farewell event
