My tip..for your lunch break go out of the park to bentleys fish and chips which is a 5 mins walk from entrance..its on road that runs along back of park towards tower direction..excellent value..and best fish and chips anywhere in country too
Another tip: If you want to ride the Big One, try and get in the rearmost car, preferably the very back. It is THE greatest experience you will ever have on that coaster
If you want to lap coasters zero ques go any week day upto the school holidays and any week day from now on. Not much atmosphere but great for ride count.
@@coaster_dad icon is so under rated.. Gets bad press from a lot of coaster enthusiasts. I still think it's the best ride in the UK. That second launch is unreal. The felling you get is amazing. I'm 51 so hope I'm still able to ride for many years to come.
@@manchester1972 I love Icon! Definitely my favourite in the park and I may also agree in the country :) And I hope to also be riding coasters until a ripe old age!
Hi, for a group of 30 Uni students coming to the park on a Saturday in August. What should be their park access budget (excluding transport, feeding and accomodations)? You meantioned that group ticket is better than individual
I’m not sure if they have a discount. The group ticket I referred to was taking up to 6 individual tickets and generating a single QR code. Given the size of your group that probably won’t help I’m afraid 😔
@@coaster_dad ok. But what's the cost of tickets for the group of 6? I just want to have an idea of the cost, not because of the discount but to aid our budeting?
I don’t know of any group discount. You may want to reach out to them and ask. The individual price varies depending on the day. The further in advance the more you can save. But on average a single ticket for adults is around £36-£40 bookings.blackpoolpleasurebeach.com/wristband/select-date
Heading to the park this Sunday. Had planned to book mid-week was told it would be busy due to end of term school trips. Was thinking about getting the speedy vip pass since I am hitting the park on my own. Have you ever tried the speed pass mate ?
@@coaster_dad yea am coming down from Scotland. Wife and kid not interested so this is my one and only chance to hit the park. Want to maximize my coaster time. Lol
@@coaster_dad We are coming down on Friday for a week. Staying about a 30 min drive from Blackpool. My Daughter is in a wheelchair and my wife hates coasters so there is not much point in me taking them. Just need to find a place to park my hightop disability van, its too tall to go under the barriers. I read parking on the streets is free on Sunday. We intend to go for a day out in Blackpool as a family at some point over the week.
I disagree with the tip to create a group ticket. We used to create one, but found it only lets the first member of the group through the turnstile, even if you scan again it won’t let the rest of the group through. Staff have to let the rest of the group through. Many of the staff weren’t paying attention at the turnstiles, so we got tired of having to tell them we have a group ticket each time, plus sometimes the turnstiles are unmanned so you have to wait for staff to come back. We always stick to our individual e-tickets now.
That’s a fair comment. It’s odd that on some scanners it works but many it does not. The tip was more aimed at only needing to drain one phones battery. 🙂
@@coaster_dad Fair point. We now go to the Wallace and Gromit Photo Booth where they can print your ticket out onto a little card, so we no longer need our phones. The tickets print onto designs that have Wallace and Gromit, SpongeBob or Hot Ice on the back. Whoever gets the Gromit design wins and gets to pick the next ride. Just be careful where you keep the ticket on Valhalla or one soggy ticket you will make.
Im going to the park for my first time on Saturday! Its a late night riding event so 10am-10pm. Are you aware whether it will be busy? I want to try and get as much as i can in
It probably will be busy on a Saturday in the summer with late night riding. But not everyone will be there all day so if you’re able to be there most of the day you should have some quieter periods.
I created a group ticket for the 3 of us absolute nightmare I scanned it only let one of us through I was told by the ride operator they never work .I think scanning your code on every ride is rubbish just do it like Alton towers scan it as you go through the main entrance
Hi, you mentioned about creating a group ticket so that all the tickets are together. If I create a group ticket can other group members go on different rides whilst I am going on a different one or do we have to all stick together?
I often make a group ticket when I’m there with my kids. But if we split up I’ll text them a screenshot of the ticket and they can go use it. When you scan a group ticket the photos of the members of that party appear on the screen and in most cases the member of staff has to manually operate the turnstile. So if the ticket shows 4 members but only two are on that ride it’s totally fine 🙂
I must say the making the QR code your Lock Screen is a great idea but it’s also stupid as to why u need to scan it every ride like once u are in the park that’s it u shouldn’t need to use it 🤷♀️
I guess that depends on your definition of decent. There are definitely options. There’s a Wetherspoons right outside, a Pizza Hut along the front of the park etc. so there are options and more if you go a little further.
7:55 - that's stupid, why can't they use the same QR code technology they've got on the rides to get in and out of the park so you don't have to tell anyone to let you back in, your ticket will be valid on the day so scanning in and out of the park won't be a problem?
You’d think. I guess it’s cause on entry the staff aren’t looking at the photos to verify it’s you. So they let you in once and reject future attempts in case you shared the ticket. But really given you have to supply a photo it seems daft 🤷♂️
@@coaster_dad if the technology worked in a way that it logs the fact you've left the park, it should only work once when accessing the park, so if you gave a copy to someone else, in theory, it shouldn't work as one ticket would be registered as being out of the park, you wouldn't be able to scan 2 tickets in if only one has left the park, that ticket would need to be scanned out as having left the park in order to gain access to the park.
