Exciting news! I just officially launched my first class on SKILLSHARE ❤It's called Introduction to Watercolor: Painting Magnolia Flowers Using Simple Techniques and you can take it for free and become my student with this FREE TRIAL skl.sh/3lJlOAO 😍
Beautifully created. When you painted over the portrait with the big red paint I was amazed by the way it worked out to make your portrait even more gorgeous !
Using the colours on the separate piece of paper rather than using what you've painted just BLEW MY MIND 🤯 that was literal genius 👏👏👏👏🏆🏆🏆 I need more people like you in my life to explain things for me so they make sense haha thank youuuuu 🙏🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
❤ I can almost recite this video word by word, 😂 I've watched it so many times. Might have to watch it another hundred times. I love how optimistic you are, but must admit the reality is I'm not confident enough yet, so I will keep watching it! (Your color choices are beautiful in this portrait❤)
About to work on one of your skillshare portrait classes, thank you for including the line art- makes me see that it's technique (not the line work) that affects the end result.
I have only recently discovered your channel: I love the way you paint and you are one of the few artists who can teach in a calm and understandable way! This is very inspirational and love the way you use colour! Thank you for a lovely video!
Thank you so much for sharing this!! I'm very new to watercolor, at least to watercolor portraiture. I've worked on monochromatic portraits and really enjoyed it (and even had someone want to buy my first one!!). I've been very hesitant to move on to color portraits. As silly as this may sound, you've answered my biggest questions/insecurities with this video! I'm so excited to experiment with the techniques you shared here!! Thank you again!!
Oh wow!! Amazing skills, great tips and what a lovely portrait!! I'm in love with your work...!! Thank you for taking the time to edit this video to share your knowledge. Much appreciated!! 💛
I would love to do that, loosely painted hair is my favorite thing to do, I am a lazy painter like that 😁 I am keeping that on my to-do list, thanks for the suggestion ❤️
I tried my best to break down my process of painting watercolor portraits. Let me know if the tips helped, or if you need more insight 🙂 Real-time ( cca 60-minutes long) BONUS video of this process available on my Patreon - www.patreon.com/posts/watercolour-red-52999786
Your attention to the details of the face is awesome!!! Gives the skin so much depth and looks real, like the imperfections you would see on a real face. And the details of the red paint and magnolia's is definitely something I'll try. :)
I tried this technique and your teaching on my painting today I definitely love the process and I love how neat my painting looks now. Thank you so so much queen 😭😭😭😭🙏🏼
Thank you Emily :) yes I do, I just published the Introduction to watercolor and in March I’m publishing another one :) I believe its linked as a pinned comment here ❤️
Hey so l have been watching your videos for a long time now and l have tried to draw this face for a long time and l finally got it and was wondering if I could sell it 😂🤣🤔🤔🤔🤔

Thank you so much! It is always a bit risky, but exciting too!
You are very good and thank you for helping me learn.
My jaw dropped when you first splattered that big red paint brush on the paper but it’s beautiful. Love it.

Hey there Tannis :) Not always I pay that much attention to detail, but it really pays off when I'm more patient. I am glad you enjoyed!
What transparent red and orange pigment did you use with the large brush at the end?
That was organic vermillion.
