Your video reminded me of the DOT that stopped me on the M4 I was driving an old ford transit recovery flat bed that I had fitted a 3L v6 to do this I had to use the diesel front. The DOT stopped me and asked if they could check my fuel I agreed and they sucked fuel from the tank but because it was petrol in a diesel testing kit it melted their test equipment. They asked to test my fuel but they did not ask to check my diesel. Spoilt their day good news.

How would I use this to remove unleaded petrol I put in my tank by accident, would I attach it to the pipe coming from the fuel tank suck all the contaminated petrol and diesel oil out then put fresh diesel in the tank then attach a syringe to the return back to tank pipe the one with a smaller diameter on the fuel filter so then I will be sucking fuel good diesel from the tank through the fuel filter checking the old contaminated fluid out and sucking all the fluids in The fuel rail your advice on this would be gratefully accepted
You didnt need to prefill the syringe. Just put the new filter in, connect the line from tank to the new filter, Connect the syringe to the filter port that goes to the engine and pull the handle. This will pull fuel out of the tank into the filter and up into the syringe. You stop pulling when there are no more bubbles coming up into the syringe. Then disconnect the syringe and connect the line going to engine.
Like I explained in a video you can check the state of the diesel in the syringe you put a brand new filter on you then syringe it through and you realise your diesel is contaminated you've just wasted money on a new filter I explain all this in the video why not do it this way and you 100% sure you will not damage or filter not even that you can spend thousands of pounds if you damage your injectors or your pumps because of bad diesel
Yeah I realised that after I posted, tried to delete... I always used to blow the fuel out of the old filter in reverse direction into a glass bottle to see how much crap was in it and to show the customer. Although that wouldnt indicate the condition of the fuel in the tank.
@@RIPPERTON you should always cut the Old filter this way you can see if there's any metal in it this will also give you an indication to how your injectors and fuel pump is

Hi mate you don't really need to bleed the injectors as such what happens is as long as your diesel filter is full the injectors are pre-filled and the pump will draw the diesel from the filter but what you can do if you want is you can loosen the the feeder pipe going into the injectors which will get the air out but that is a long and messy process once the filter is full it would draw into the injectors and all the air bubbles will come out the return of the injectors

Do you remember the 90's Peugeot Diesel used by everyone had that silly little squidgy hand primer under the bonnet for priming.
lol yes i do mate
CanI ask a question? What is the mettle strip on a mk7 transit 2.4 d inside fuel housing, what does it do?
nice one Leon from Ireland
thanks mate
Great vid Leon I use one for fuel and the other for gear oil great tools
Vdubs 60 yes I definitely want to get the oil one can see a lot of advantage of that too
I am getting fuel to my filter snd past it to my injection pump... its the only pump on the car, old school mechanically injected. How can I get the air out of the lines between pump and injector? Can I just use ether and run it for a minute or two?
Hi mate on each injector you will see a metal pipe you need to loosen one at a time until you start seeing diesel come through
@@bodgitandleggitgarage tha ks man!! I will be giving that a try tomorrow. I thought I mightve been able to get away if I just put a can of starter fluid through it til it started sucking on its oqn
Very nice channel and nice video.
Nice new gadget, does what it says on the tin. Cheers Leon
125 SM thanks mate
Great piece of kit but expensive for the home mechanic it’s ok for a working garages but I personally would find it hard to justify the cost
Hi mate I don't agree with you on that it's not that expensive and a hell of a lot cheaper than replacing your high pressure pump I've seen people damage high pressure pumps because they don't know what they are doing or how to bleed a system with this it's easy and a hell of a lot cheaper than high pressure pump
are the seals strong enough for brake fluid? thanks in advance ...
Now that's a handy tool, Good video Leon 👍
yes it is mate
Great video..
I would have fitted new filter then put the syringe on the outlet to the engine spout then pulled the diesel right through the filter.
Steve Ashcroft right and in doing that you still haven't checked the diesel if you then find the diesel to be contaminated you have just wasted money on a very expensive main dealer filter there is no need to do this if you do it the way I said
Steve Ashcroft he is right mate
great video that's me sorted for next job 👍
Daniel Robinson lol
u.s pro syringe - did not work could not pull any fuel few. ???????
ford filters - simply fill to the brim then replace job done
Works every time on the mk3, not on the mk4 though
Yes another great vid
Thanks mate
good tool great video.
Put ignition on suck out of fuel return on filter
Ok thanks mate keep up the good work
thanks mate
great video you got it SORTED lol thank you pal
How much is the syringe?
another great video,,,,,,,,,,,,,,keep up the good work
thanks mate
Hi will this work on a 2010 mk4 mondeo.sound job.
yes mate
@@bodgitandleggitgarage sound out sham
Hi there I've recently had a new engine fitted in my ford fiesta 58 plate as my timing belt slipped. I have a mechanic who does cars in his spare time he is having trouble trying to get the diesel from fuel tank to the fuel filter. He has told me that he's tried forcing the fuel through to filter with a compressor baring in mind I know nothing about cars I'm only going with what he is telling me. I am wondering if anybody has any ideas or suggestions.thank you
Marie Wells hi mate there's a couple things you can do sounds like you maybe have a blockage in your fuel tank the first thing I would do is disconnect the pipe from the filter to the fuel tank try and blow through it see if you can if you can go through it you know you have a blockage in your fuel tank you might have a valve in your fuel tank that is broken off the top of my head I cannot remember exactly what is in your fuel tank but that's one of the first things to do
Thank you, I forgot to say before putting new engine in the car was also serviced so it's a new fuel filter that's been put in to I was told that apparently Ford's are bad for getting fuel to fuel filter. Thanks mate
Marie Wells not if it's blocked
bodgit and leggit garage thank you
Very useful.
BUT, will it suck a golf ball through a garden hose????
Malcolm Young that's my next video lol
ive seen chrisfix do it but his priming method is connect everything, then ignition on for 5 seconds off on for 5 off on for 5 off start the car, will that work?
Martin Cooper absolutely pointless putting the ignition on there is no lift pump in this particular engine will make no difference at all
maybe that works on petrol cars , my fuel pump needs doing seems its something i dont have the tools for so gonna need to go to the garage, to get it done, revs are cutting out on me at 3-4000 and its only gonna get worse
That won't work on a Mondeo because it has no electric pump in the fuel tank, a mechanical pump pulls diesel up when engine is running
Steve Ashcroft with a car with a lift pump in the tank you do not have any problems bleeding it's a self bleeding system
Yes I know, I was explaining why Chris Fix was seen switching ignition on for a few seconds then off and back on.
When your done you can use it as a terkey baster lol
Slicker than owl poop. This ought to streamline filter maintenance.
Eric Corse hahah
Eric Corse yes mate work Smarter not harder
Is that any good for colonic irrigation?
WhitwellMike B call down we will film it and we will see
It makes a really cool noise too, I want one just for that.
hahahahaah
15:34 that's what she said!
LOL!!
hahahaha
Just buy a ebay 8e manual prime pump then connect 1 side to filter outlet and other to the outlet tube and you good to goo 30secnds.
There's more than one way to skin a cat
@@bodgitandleggitgarage no offense by the way but thats how I do it ! i learn a lot from your videos mate! thanks for that!
@@cristianojoana1898 I didn't take any offence mate I just said there's more than one way to skin a cat so your way works and this way works I did not take any offence whatsoever I like people telling me and suggesting new things
Helping each other thats is best way !
lol my mechanic said it can take 8 hours to find it
Sorted!!
thanks mate
all i saw was air being pushed in Pat
First comment
Brendan Brady fan hahahha
bleeding awesome
MRPAD744 hahaha love it
Why are your eyes red
Maybe he has been physically testing too much diesel with them.
What happened your eye?
Eoghan Donnelly ???
bodgit and leggit garage it just looks like your right eye is a bit red as if you got something in it.
Eoghan Donnelly no mate all is good with the two eyes well I think so anyway LOL
Jesus yet another review! 👎
Tony Lanceley just trying to show people different ways of doing it with different tools don't see the problem if you get stuck in something and you go onto UA-cam and find a review on how to do it what is your problem
