I know the man and he was our Base Commander in Petawawa. An honourable man that has tired to deal with a Government that would rather ensure Tampons are in the Mens Washroom than deal with the real world. I served 241/2 years and if it comes doing do it would suite up in defence of Canada and I fear we are so behind due to the lack of Civilian support , if it wasn’t the fact we live beside the USA would would be rolled over! Thanks for your service Sir, Airborne!

Gen. Eyre is a man of integrity, and true soldiers are like that. Canada's challenges at home and abroad are profound, demanding serious thinking and timely action. The current economic scenario and defence cuts in a post-pandemic world have affected Canada's commitment to its men and women in the uniform. Honourable officers and senior commanders live by and set examples by leading from the front, and Gen. Eyre did precisely that. I hope the government of Canada and the political stakeholders make prudent and non-partisan decisions in a timely fashion in a financial, political, diplomatic and international context. In today's world, unwise decisions put everything at risk and make it hard to catch up, like equipment buying, recruiting personnel and devising viable strategies at operational and strategic levels.
Gen. Eyre's decision is a wake-up call for Canada to wake up and realize the potential pitfalls of a changing-polarized world, and over 60% of Canadian forces, its men and women, are burnt out because of Afghanistan and repeated exposure to war zones and calls of duty at home from pandemic to forest fires. The least the Government of Canada can do is not make cutbacks when everything is stretched to the max. It would not be fair to demand and expect the Canadian Armed Forces members to perform at an optimal level under the circumstances. I know someone who offered free-of-cost PTSD treatment for Canadian Afghan Veterans who hit a stone wall. If that is the attitude, there will be budget cuts in Canada for its forces and a 75 billion dollars gift to Lockheed Martin for F-35s, but cutting one billion for the armed forces at home.

I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for the Chief of Defence Staff to deal with the political landscape in Ottawa during his tenure. He has been fighting for funding for the men and women who defend our country and has had virtually no support from the Trudeau Liberals. Ulike his political masters, he has served his country with distinction.

Canada Continues each year to screw up Canada more each month for decades upon decades. When will it be time to realize Canada is a failed state or Do what's needed to be done and not continue doing what's politically popular. Canada needs to spend a minimum of 3% to 7% gdp on defense for a cycle or two while spending money on what we need what's most efficient and rebuilding everything then our defense budget would drop and our defense would rise. Our problems are defense spending but not alot its mainly spending the money in areas that make the most sense not focusing on what's popular like aquireing advanced technology that's used but rarely used like buying us France Britain nuclear submarines multirole, that are older or buy new off the shelf fast delivery get a sub that will last longer get it faster more effective in all areas more affordable and better having a small advanced nuclear sub fleet than a large brand new made in Canada diesel sub fleet which would take decades to build and employ not many people like our warships the price were paying for them we could purchase off the shelf frigate destroyers and corvettes we should get real on missile defense it's not popular if it's unrealistic for defense then go for a strong offense that includes a strong deterrence like hypersonic missiles and multi platform supersonic nuclear armed cruise missiles along with nuclear attack missiles in the Arctic which can wipe out Russian Arctic infrastructure bomber fleets there missiles and so on. This all sounds crazy but in reality we could be like France but better in the sense we could have a Five eyes defense force with 3 out 5 or 4 out 5 with nuclear capabilities missile defense advanced strike missiles larger more diverse navys airforce armies and more co op missions projects with America Britain Australia and other allied nations which would up our defense up our defense jobs and exports also instead of dropping money in nations in need of help we send our made in Canada or partly made in Canada weapons and or send in our well equipped navy army airforce helping out allies more and helping our selves more. All this is how we use to do it and the world was a safer place for Canada and our allies
