Super helpful!! We will be starting pre-k in the fall and this was so helpful! I'm so nervous to start.. so this comforted me a little, just hearing you talk about it :)
Jessica Melton awe I'm so glad! Don't worry mama, you will love it and just have fun! Pre k is like 20 minutes of work a day maybe- lots of reading and just experiences!
Thankful for people & videos like you/yours! I feel like it'll be my own little "support" group to get started haha and it's nice to know I don't have to start out with intense school work and can just ease into it ☺️💖
My oldest (now 15) is an eager learner, so I relate to the different challenges that presents in keeping them engaged. My daughter was also very results oriented, so finding things she could feel "done" with became important and was easier to satisfy when she started reading :D How wonderful that you found things that made her happy enough to want to do more :)
Jennifer Clark thank you for sharing with me! It was a new experience for this mama because my others went to school at her age, I'm excited to see if it carries out again in kindergarten!
Grace and Grit I understand ... Both of mine are in public school, but I needed to suppliment quite a bit with my daughter especially thru 3rd grade until I moved her to a gifted program (She now attends a Highly Gifted Magnet High School). For Kinder, we played Silly Soup Phonics (I think it's a "thing" now, so probably lots of ideas on pinterest). We played it this way (sometimes like a board game with others) I had all the phonics on index cards and you draw the card randomly and have to race an egg timer to find an item in the house that has that phonic to bring back and put in the 'soup' (I used a large pot :) ) For 1st grade on (even now) She LOVED a magnetic Word Wall ... I originally saw a Poetry Word Wall at some cafe we were at near the beach and made my own with a magnetic Dry Erase Board and a roll of magnetic tape on the back of laminated word cards I printed at home. Also had the leapfrog alphabet sound refridgerator toy. Eventually, I painted part of a wall with Magnetic Paint and got a 'fancy' set ... www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Poetry-Happiness-Refrigerator-Letters/dp/1935305271
Totally agree...I enjoy videos like this even more than curriculum hauls. I did a halfway point review on my channel, but I'll have to do another one at the end of the year on our curriculum choices. Love getting ideas for more curriculum. Thanks! 😊
I know this is a couple years old but seriously I wish I could sit down and talk with you. I have so so so many questions and you seem so knowledgeable! Thanks for the videos 😊
Thank you for this! I am going to try homeschooling my oldest for PreK this coming year, and your video gave me tons of ideas and encouragement! You helped take some of the pressure off that I placed on myself thinking I needed to follow some extravagant curriculum.
I love curriculum reviews, don't stop! lol. I have a boy entering kindergarten this year and he is an eager learner too; I'm very excited to learn what you have chosen for next year's curriculum. I am also surprised by his eagerness to learn. Thank you for sharing. Please continue.
Rachel Smith no not just that, lots of variety. From identifying the thing that shouldn't be there, to circling the pictures that start with sound, letter tracing and practice, line tracing, plus more!
I can not find that download for free anywhere. Where exactly did you download it from? I went to her website subscribed and everything but you have to pay for all the products on there
Great review! I'm starting PreK with my son this coming year and just starting to collect everything so this was super helpful. Did you decide not to use the Berenstein science book? This is on my wishlist so I was looking forward to your review.
Occasionally there's a mom out there who likes to play kindergarten teacher in a neat little schoolroom. She would be perfect for this... I'm so tickled! A time for everything and each thing has its place; I'm sure I worded this incorrectly but teeheehee..!
Just making sure I have it right, you haven't ever done Sonlight P4/5, correct? I love the idea of end of year reviews but no one seems to have ever done one for that core. 😕
Thank you so much for this video!! I am going to homeschool my pre-k daughter next year. I was looking at explore the code books!! You would think I would be able to do it without curriculum since I've done three years of pre k but every year was so different!! Love it thanks!!
I am planning on homeschooling my son starting this summer. He will be in second grade at that time. He is currently at a charter school. Im trying to decide on a phonics program for him. He can already read small chapter books. Do you think explode the code is ok to start for a second grader who can already read?
Great follow up!!! I need to do this too! We did major 1/2 year changes to curriculum in years past. This year thankfully not so much. :) We used and still use Explode the Code, love it!!!! How awesome that you have an eager learner, makes it sooo much easier!

Mama to Four I meant to do a 1/2 way point too, but time got away from me! Thanks for watching!!
I know this is a couple years old but seriously I wish I could sit down and talk with you. I have so so so many questions and you seem so knowledgeable!
Thanks for the videos 😊
That pretend reading is really a big part of the intuitive process. She can pick up reading intuitively/organically.
You can find free work sheets online to go along with the Bob books.

Samantha G that makes me so happy! Simple is best for the Little's in my opinion! Have fun!
This is exactly what I've been searching UA-cam for. Curriculum end of year results/opinions. Thanks so much!!!

Lydia Jackson Thankyou!!! They'll be a lot coming, so I'm glad to hear you enjoy them!
Looking forward to reviews! I agree that reviews are more beneficial than hauls! Although I do love hauls.
Honest Mom me too!
so excited about these vidoes!!!!
Lydia Hubbard yay! I'm so glad you're excited about them!
Wonderful!
What is inside those explode the code A and B books? Is it like circling pictures that go with the letter?
Rachel Smith no not just that, lots of variety. From identifying the thing that shouldn't be there, to circling the pictures that start with sound, letter tracing and practice, line tracing, plus more!
We enjoy a lot of the Confessions of a Homeschooler curriculum.
Serenity Hills Academy so awesome!
I can not find that download for free anywhere. Where exactly did you download it from? I went to her website subscribed and everything but you have to pay for all the products on there

She's such a good problem to have ☺️. I bet she's like you. I bet she even looks like you.

Grace and Grit That's ok, thanks for confirming! I really enjoy your videos! 🙂
Do you go more towards a CM way of teaching? I thought I remembered that.
SodbusterLiving I do, but Not exclusively
